Nice try but you're just using your foreign card, setup from a different country, to pay for it. You're technically charged in USD or whatever currencies your card is.

The statement “The Philippines does not support Apple Pay” is too much of a general statement that it can mislead foreigners using Apple Pay in the Philippines. While it is true that local banks that issue credit cards cannot be registered in Apple Wallet for Filipinos, Apple Pay is accepted in any contactless abled POS in the Philippines. Contactless pay (tap pay) including Apple Pay is accepted, therefore supported in the Philippines if your credit card is issued by a non Philippine foreign bank. Only Philippine bank issued credit cards are the ones not supported.
1. Change your iPhone's region to a country that supports Apple Pay (PH region doesn't support yet, sadly) 2. Get a card from that region (I got a digital gift card) 3. Link that gift card to your Apple Pay :)
medyo misleading ka kasi apple pay doesn't work in th philippines. your set-up is not in philippines and charges not in pesos but in foreign currency plus interest making it a lot expensive that actual cost
Ah shocks oo nga. The setup was I registered a digital Mastercard sa phone/watch. The digital Mastercard was prepaid and bought in Australia. Bale lumabas naging parang ₱119 yung nuggets ko instead of ₱117

I was shocked when you were able to use it as Filipino in the country. As I know, Apple does not support Apple Pay Setup in the Philippines yet. Not unless you set it up overseas. Hoping apple allow PH to be connected to that setup as it is more secure than physical cards 😭😭😭

Yes it’s apple pay, but you don’t need to have money in your apple pay card. You can just add your debit card in the apple pay wallet in the apple watch app, hence you’re just using your debit card as an electronic card in your apple watch.
