I just realized that the spectral elemental is literally doing nothing. no damage. he completely is taking a break during a boss fight.

edit: new patch. things have changed. dps has been nerfed, elemental effects have been buffed. the focus is on elemental effects now. so elemental drain is mandatory. and broms curse. the healthpool of the warper has been buffed, summonig circle must not get maxed anymore. blood link is unnessesary. all these points go into elemental drain and brom's curse. with harlequin ablaze there is no problem at all. all bosses go down in no time. better survivability.

why did you put damage mods in your weapon instead of minion damage mods? how do damage mods affect your minion build

Hi. the weapons I use is 1 focus item that enables the skills "venom armor", "swarm" and "venomous spirit" of the toxic tree, which is new for the summoner, since the release of one of the latest patches.
all of these skills are cast by the player, not by minions. all damage mods inside the focus item increase the damage of "swarm" and "venomous spirit". these mods can also increase the elemental attack strength of these skills, whatever elemental effect you want to have. [fire + ignite] or [electric + shock] or [spectral + phase] or [toxic + poison] or [physical + stun]. ( yes it is possible, to phase monsters with swarm, or any other elemental effect) the other weapon is a "master's hand" with "+32% minion damage".
If I want to cast "the warper", I switch to a different weapon combo: "the master's hand" + the hydra thing (I don't know the correct name of the weapon, at the moment, sorry) because Inside the hydra weapon I use "+ minion life" mods (mythic). after casting the warper, I switch back to the master's hand + focus combo, in order to enable "swarm" and "venom armor" again. most of the +minion damage comes from equipped gear, (body armor, belt, boots, etc.) and "the master's hand".
edit: TL:DR +damage mods inside a summoner weapon affect the DPS of the player's weapon only, like an eel projector, etc.
minions don't care about +damage mods. they only care about +miniondamage mods. but these are expensive. another downside of miniondamage mods is: "swarm" and "venomous spirit" become weaker if used instead of +damage mods inside a focus item. another option to increase minions damage is to equip one more "master's hand" (2 in total). "the master's hand" is easier to afford than +minion damage mods.
