    Thank you for the video. I will say that it might be worth mentioning the system requirements. I did every step and all was showing as working and I could not get the web interface to come up. I went over the services and found that MongoDB was no longer working. I then realized that it started as active and then quickly stopped in my case which is why I didn't notice the issue right away. I then tried to reinstall MongoDB several times which would constantly fail and almost gave up until I found somewhere that MongoDB required a CPU with AVX support and 20 gigs of RAM. I made changes to my VM which is running in Proxmox BTW and it finally came up. Great video, just felt it was worthing sharing my experience here in case others run into problems.

      Yeah i actually ran into this issue with my unraid setup, my cpu didnt support AVX, unfortunately i found that out after i made the video. Thanks for the watch!

    Thank you very, very much.
    Your presentation and steps are great. Even the official documentation is very confusing.. 🙂
    Just one thing to everyone running this on a Proxmox VM. You will need to enable to choose a CPU instruction set that has the the AVX CPU flag enabled. If this is not done, then OpenSearch will not work.

      Hello, where can I enable this AVX flag on the processor in proxmox?
      I understand that graylog cannot be installed on the lxc container in proxmox. I've been struggling with this for a few days and it just doesn't want to work

      @edekedkowski5952 I did mine on a VM, there is an option in the CPU part of the VM setup.

    Thanks, this was solid. Only issue I ran into was my hardware. Mongod 5.x and higher needs the CPU AVX instruction set. Had to change my VM CPU to host whew. If anyone runs into mongod not starting, in the output from 'systemctl status mongod' look for:
    Main PID: xxx (code=dumped, signal=ILL)
    You can check your CPU with:
    grep -qm1 '^flags.*avx' /proc/cpuinfo && echo OK || echo NOT OK

    I completed getting Graylog, Opensearch, and Mongodb up and running with certificates just before you released this video :(
    Great video though, and since I had installed graylog-5.0, I used some info here to upgrade to 5.1, so thanks for that! I have watched nearly all of your graylog videos. Do you intend to cover pipelines any time soon? I'm working through it, slowly lol.

      Are you running this in a VM? Check your mongodb service. it's probably not running and threw an illegal instruction. I was running mine in Proxmox and dug forever to find out Mongodb 5&6 need AES instruction set. Had to update my Proxmox VM settings to use Host CPU type and enable the AES flag. (My cpu supported it thankfully)
