True! I never think of my dolls as decorative objects, but she would look great at Christmas. My Fiancé would kill me if the dolls made it out of their little corner though 😂 Thank you ❤️ BTW, huge fan of your sewing! 😍😍
Thank you for this review! 💕 Ever since I was gifted Victorian Barbie with Cedric Bear, I’ve been trying to start a new Victorian theme Barbie collection and this doll will definitely be added to the collection! 😀💖
A lot of people seem to love this doll 😂 I think the doll is beautiful but I have never been one for period costume. Especially Victorian. But if you like that kind of thing I'm sure this doll is a must.
I know this is VERY unlike me, but I actually really like this doll! I love the colour scheme of the clothes and that faux fur... and LOVE those black skating boots! I have a few of those stands and I'm always in two minds about them, but I LOVED those little Christmas cards that came with her, too... and the fact she is a brunette... but LOL that factory 'updo!' I think we talked about this before, but she reminds me very much of that once very beautiful actress Hunter Tylo, (before she got all that plastic surgery :P ) She looks great in the Strollin' Fun outfit too and what a clever idea to make your own 'variation' of that doll! LOOOOOOOVE her with the fringe!!!! Love how you curled it, too... it gives her a real 'retro' flavour! Can't wait for the tutorial.
Yes, I do remember talking about Hunter Tylo! It seems so long ago. I kinda like having a stash of dolls to unbox but it is annoying that I don't get to enjoy them for so long. I can't believe you actually like the outfit though. ICK! You can have it! 😂😂😂We can make better updo's can't we Spagbol! I'm happy with the fringe, even though I made it a little sparse in comparison to Strollin' Fun.
@@DeanReen: Oh no, I don't want that outfit! I mean WHO on earth out of my vintage collection would wear it??? LOL But I actually really like it!!! (though wish they made it out of a deep wine red velvet instead.) Yes, we are expert at up-dos now!!! Well, I'm never 100% happy with mine, but that Mattel job DID look quite careless... I tend to do that exact updo when I am washing their bodies and don't wanna get their hair wet! LOL :P Are you gonna box her in the Strollin' fun box with her pram and stuff? That would be so cool! You could also try to source a brunette Kelly doll for the pram, too! :D
Hahaha, hilarious. Yeah, it would look a little out of place. Barbs should wear it in the 1964 dream house. OOOH!! That is an amazing idea! I need to do that! Thanks Spagbol! Ahh, now I need to find Kelly 😭
She is, but I don't see a lot of her. And yet there are SO many on eBay. Thank you. ❤️ I know not everyone will like the fringe but I do, and that's what matters 😋It does grow fast, but not as fast as it does here on RUclips (as there is time between filming, although this one was very recent).
❤️❤️❤️ her!!!! I was born on Christmas, so I have become drawn to any Barbie I see that remotely resembles Christmas or winter. Until last year, I had been out of collecting since I received 1989’s Happy Holidays Barbie. I’m finding there’s been quite a lot of Holidays & winter Barbie’s in my 30 year absence! I had not seen this one, but as soon as you showed those miniature Christmas cards I knew she’s going to the top of my want list 🥰. I never had a brunette Barbie (I did have Jewel Secrets Whitney, my favorite back then) but am finding I’m drawn to them now as well. For some reason they seem to show up better w/ the fashions than the blonde hair...but that’s probably my imagination. Her face is gorgeous, I see Lynda Carter looking at her, but that’s probably my imagination as well because I loved her so much as a child. This review was so helpful, as all I have seen from you are. Thank you for sharing her with us!
As in Christmas day? Would that mean double presents or less presents? This doll doesn't seem marketed as a Christmas doll but she really is. I wonder how many covert Christmas dolls are out there 😂 I didn't have a genuinely brunette Barbie until Princess and the Pauper Erika. I loved her but she wasn't as cool as the earlier dolls. I had a few Teresa dolls but they all had brown eyes and I longed for a doll like me with brown hair and blue eyes. Thank you so much!! ❤️
Hollywood Legends, classic! I am collecting My Fair Lady. I have two but the other two keep evading me! I wish they would do more stuff like that now. Lol, I know, I kept saying "pathetic hair-do" watching it back i was thinking "Omigosh, am I really that snarky". Thank you. She was beautiful as she was but I really wanted a brunette Strollin' Fun Barbie 😂❤️
I would make her a sans fringe/bangs strolling fun. I just remember the late eighties Barbie with fluffed out bangs. By all means give her a fringe if you want. You know how I love to give haircuts so who I am I to preach about not doing anything with a Barbie's hair. I would just set the fringe before you cut her fringe/bangs. =-)
Too late now. I did it a day before I uploaded this video 😂 I like the fringe, but I also like her without it. I don't feel it makes too much difference, but now she more like Strollin' Fun. What do you mean "set the fringe"? Anyway, I am working on the video now, you will be able to see what I did 😂
i always thought that the dress was made of velvet. Ooh! i’m really liking the faux fur collar. Barbie dolls of the 90s didn’t have very good legs. The bend-ability started to die down in the early 80s, i think. i didn’t notice the difference in size of her eyes. i honestly thought that Mattel had improved on facial screenings in the 90s. i can’t wait to see the fringe tutorial video!
I too thought it would be velvet. But instead it is a cheap synthetic fleecy fabric (that sheds everywhere BTW!) The fur is cool though. I may use that collar somewhere. Now that you mention it, you are right. It is very rare for a 90s doll to have good legs. But these are something else. Stiff, and wobbly at the same time. It really feels like they are going to break and I can only get one click. Maybe they just need some exercise? Facial screening does look better in the 90s for the most part. I have a feeling that this doll was rushed to market or perhaps they ordered so many to be made that the quality had to be dropped. There ARE a lot of them out there. I can't wait to post the fringe tutorial! It is quite fun. I just love rewatching the part when I cut the hair. It feels so naughty! 😂❤️
I remember this great to add style for Christmas. Made good quality in the 90s.

Yes we need to see how you manage to give her this PERFECT fringe please

her fringe is perfect!
Thank you ❤️ It was my first attempt at curling hair and cutting a fringe, I think it turned out OK considering.
Wow the same year of the Hollywood Legends...GWTW 🥰. Pathethic hair do hihi wow you gave her another life!! I love her new look.

Of course Barbies muff is fake fur! LOL=) Sorry, couldn't resist.
I have a feeling this is some kind of innuendo that I am not getting?

Huh, was I right? I'm so confused 😂🤦
