Believer! I think if you curve out well enough you can do it, and the recursion with the sun-blessed healer can bring back things that are destroyed, and a lot of them have good etb effects.
Those first pack ratings are exactly why I don't trust Untapped for ratings. I agree with its Burst Lightning rating, but the Wardens it had super high when that card is performing at D level stats for 17lands, and Preposterous Proportions it had as very decent when it's C- level stats for 17lands. I refuse to believe that Untapped's users are so wildly different from 17lands' users that they can make a D card into a B+/A- level card (based on those ratings).
I know the exact starter set you're talking about! My friend and I went halvsies on it and at some point he decided he was never going to play green so he gave me all his green cards. Crazy.
New damage rule actually making a difference when he attacked into a 3/3 and a 1/1 rat where in the old he’d kill nothing but now he killed the 1/1. Incredible value well done wizards
I think at least early on you should always try the rare in this particular set. The lower rarity cards are either simple or reprints, we know how good they are. It's also a set where decks are a bit more likely to stall and slug it out with rares, so you need to know if yours are good or not.
I feel like Preposterous Proportions is one of the cards that is much better to try out the lower your rank is. Wouldn’t recommend it on episode #19, but #5? Let’s go!
He ended up with a great pile to support the go wide strategy. I don't know how he does it. I feel like every time I lock in my archetype completely dries up.
17lands data on it shows its a decent card. its got a good winrate if drawn but really bad winrate in opening hand, that pretty much tells the real problem with the card is the mana cost, not so much the effect. so overall id say its probably a decent to ok card and good if you build around it. probably dont want to first pick it but if you pick it up mid draft i could trying to make it work (if your really trying to win)
I'm a fan of preposterous proportions. I think basically if you are ever up 2 creatures you win the game or it forces the opponent to chump. You need to survive to get to it though which is the issue.
8:17 weird inconsistency between draftsmith and 17lands. Abyssal Harvester has a 50 untapedgg rating, very high rating, but 17lands has it at 56%winrate which for 17lands data, is just an ok, middle of the road number. card does seem pretty decent. played with it once, it was good but not exactly a bomb. (it took over one game for me but was just ok to good in most games) so its kinda hard to say which data set is more accurate
Thanks to you and Haumph, I made it to mythic pretty quickly this month! Love hearing your reasoning/figuring out how to use untapped companion correctly (not just blindly following it)!
Non-believer, barely any removal, no combat tricks. The stupid Eldrazi will probably save you in some games and maybe a game or two where you go T1: Llanowar elves, T2: random 2/3-drop, T3: Savior. If you do that on the play, your opponent will probably scoop. So, I guess you'll go 3-3 or so, but this is far from a winning deck. I admire you taking the bad rare over actual good cards.
Jim, you have to either think your opponents suck because theyre in gold, or think they know enough about the game to make heads up decisions. When you flip flop whenever you think theyre bad and get blown out because of it, you not only look like a jackass, but behavior like that makes me want to click off immeditely. You have said the phrase "were not trying to make fun of our opponents" so many times in the past, but this bronze to mythic season has had a lot of directly laughing at and making fun of opponents because they arent as good as the average diamond player.
40:55 - Preposterous Sire of Seven Deaths attack! Much Excite!
21:15 Believer. "My removal is the combat phase" is hard to pull off but the pieces are definitely here.
Supporting the content
Pretty wicked deck ngl
Good Midrange/Tempo deck with crazy top end
easy 7 wins BELIEVER!
Believer, deck looks good. Sire of 7 is OP
Easy and funny way to remember Ceratops' pronunciation: Serra tops
BELIEVER. Early-game powerhouse, into a Ward-7 life when they are holding on for dear life. Your weaknesses are covered by immense strength.
A humble offering for the almighty algorithm.

Believer. Think the broken wings is a good add.

At 1:23:00 mark around
Believer. I think the lanowar elves and felidars with two bombs on topend will take you through

Deck's gas.

Believer, wild deck
New Bronze to mythic? 1 minute ago? I'm in!

Guessing 7-1!
Just get garruks uprising, or a ton of token generation. That card trophied for me singlehandedly

Game 5 was a treat
Wish is pretty good. Recommended

A lot of 6-3 drafts so far. Wild.
1:11:15 Norm will never not be funny to me!

first opponent was in your pod, how unlikely!
ALGORITHM BELIEVER
Off flavor vs anger deck with lucky sevens.
Hitting buttons
Got my first trophy, 3 elvish regrowers and a leyline axe
Axe got me my first as well. Got it passed like 6 pick and said What the hell.....
Lots of turn 2 scoops to the axe lol
41:00 lmao somebody stop this man
Go wide or go home. I like it, but 0 removal. believer this time
"I didn't want to be alive"
That would be preposterous.
That is a preposterous first pick
Not a believer, looks like a "Jim likes drafting green decks" pile

please give an example
Consistently the worst drafting. “Blue does seem kinda open here” and then forces garbage.
dangit Jim, gyp is a slur
Stop taking bad cards. It doesn’t make for good viewing. There’s a difference between trying out rares and potentially train wrecking a draft.
