wonderful reading. i own it and, although the Brandis was a short-lived quartet, they produced somewonderful recordings, which were special for some daring interpretations. the 2nd quintet is also a great piece as played by the Brandis quartet. if anything, the microphones are placed a little too far. their recording of brahms clarinet quintet is also wonderful. it isn t an autumnal view of the piece, but a darker affair- more tragic. this is a personal view.
