I’ve just finished and published a trilogy - speculative fiction, and I am somewhat in awe listening to these two masters of the craft. When you write for a living, listening to real masters reveals much more than being a reader alone. Thank you to the Commonwealth Club, to Lee Child and the extraordinarily generous Ken Follet. Publishers, salesmen, are often wrong. Wayne Dyer, selling 31 books of mostly N.ew York Times best sellers, had his 1st international block buster turned down by NINETY NINE established publishers. That book is STILL in print from 1971, translated into multiple languages first having been on the New York Times best seller list for multiple weeks.
