We got lucky! We were in DC for peak bloom quite by accident. We flew in for the weekend March 24-28 for our granddaughter's baptism. With all the family in town and a small baby in tow, we really didn't do much for the festival. But we did take a ride around the tidal basin, and go on walks in my son's DC neighborhood with the baby! Lots of blooms to see in places other than the tidal basin!
We had been in DC the last week from Wednesday through Sunday. The Cherry Blossoms were always on my list and I am so happy to be checking it off.. it was more than beautiful 😍
Hi Rob great tour of the beautiful blossoms, my girlffiend and I were actually around the tidal basin that same day! We were visiting DC for the first time and your tips came in handy. Although as we were walking the mall we noticed that those ice cream trucks that park along the road often have their songs blaring constantly we thought it kind of messed with the ambiance lol
I dont usually enjoy commentary when I watch walking tours but I really enjoyed your positive and informative disposition. Btw, whats an elephant ear? :)
Thank you! I am happy you enjoyed it! An elephant ear is fried dough covered in cinnamon sugar 😋 I prefer the cinnamon flavor over the powdered sugar on the funnel cake.
We arrived on Monday. The Cherry Blossom trees were beautiful! I wished we had time to go to east Potomac Park like you suggested. The Tidal Basin was crowded just as you mentioned to us. I still enjoyed the trees. We saw them at night by MLK memorial. So beautiful.
Great video, looks super busy, especially for a weekday. I wonder how busier it would've been had those blossoms enjoyed great weather to hold out for the weekend.
We are going April 9-11. I hope we see some cherry tree blossoms. My daughter was supposed to go to Japan for her make-a-wish but as of now they can’t grant International wishes. So we are taking her to Washington DC ❤️
Thank you for this wonderful and informative video ... I would like to ask where one could find toilets in the tidal basin area besides the Martin Luther King memorial area
Now that the cherry blossoms have peaked, can anyone tell me if they started to fall off yet, is it still worth coming up there to see them on Tuesday this week???
Oh gosh my my these trees so so beautiful
Awesome 👏 I like your channel . Thanks for for sharing & uploading time to time . God bless you Rob 👍

Great video, Rob. Thanks for the tour. We will miss the blossoms this year. We will be a few weeks late this year.
Bummer. Glad you liked the video though.

It wouldn't be the National Mall without ice cream trucks blasting Christmas music year round.

Beautiful😍🌸🎶👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Wow so pretty. Thinking of going this week thursday March 31st. Would it still be a good time to see the trees?
There's never a bad time. You'll likely catch some later bloomers.
Elephant ear for sure!
Good choice!
Elephant ear, funnel cake, do i have to choose, i'll take both
Mmm. Excellent point!
According to the New York Botanical Garden tracker, our trees here in the Bronx are only at 5% to full bloom.
Oh wow you still have almost the entire bloom to look forward to!
Thanks for all the information. It's wonderful. Do you think we will get this view on 2nd April 2022?
No. You will miss peak bloom but will see some later bloomers.

Have a great trip!
I am going there alone this Saturday. Any recommendations?
Thank you for this wonderful and informative video ... I would like to ask where one could find toilets in the tidal basin area besides the Martin Luther King memorial area
All the monuments have them (Jefferson, FDR, MLK) and there are portable toilets at the Cherry Blossom Welcome Area.
Forgive me if you've answered this, but what camera and selfie-stick are you using? What mic? Great video! Very informative and visually pleasing.
Cell phone on a OM4 gimbal. I talked about gear and video production more in this video: ruclips.net/video/Iiwfm1dEEls/видео.html
@@TripHacksDC Thanks for the link and information! I really enjoy your videos. Very high quality.

The pictures are a little bit jumpy which make it a little dizzy to watch!
Anyway, thank you for doing it!
how long will this cherry blossom last? I plan to see it but will this weekend, April 3 too late?
Peak bloom will be over by April 3rd. You might catch some late bloomers.
@@TripHacksDC i wish I found your channel earlier. Very well done. Subscried.
Are we past the peak? We are travelling to DC tomorrow.
Yes but there are still a decent number of flowers hanging on.
A lot of "SAKURA" !
Now Osaka pref. Japan,
Chery blossam.
Now that the cherry blossoms have peaked, can anyone tell me if they started to fall off yet, is it still worth coming up there to see them on Tuesday this week???
Tuesday 3/29 there will still be some trees blooming but petals are already starting to fall and you will have missed peak.
@@TripHacksDC 😭 thank you for the reply, very much appreciated!!😭
@@TripHacksDC oh, and is the reason for that, because it came a week earlier than normal for the season??
Yes. The average peak bloom is around March 31st. This year it came 10 days earlier than average.
I see the river
What’s an Elephant ear?
Fried dough with cinnamon sugar 😁
If I drink here, get arrested?
I see the train
Plenty people walking
Elephant ear????
I heard about cherry blossom so I ask Google to show me
