He’s not even doing that for real, he’s just using the opportunity to promote his fighter. Eddie [and boots] has been on record saying the plan is to collect belts at 147 then move to 154. He’s stated this multiple times before and after Boots last fight.
If Eddie was a great promoter he would be backing his fighter which is Madrimov. He seems to overlook his own fighters in favour of who is most popular all the time. He will act the same way when Canelo fights his own guy Berlanga.

Boots is going to be Crawford mark my words. It’s not even an upset; he’s bigger and more athletic. He has over 32 fights and ppl say he didn’t fight anyone. Cause no one will fight him including Crawford they are ducking that ass whopping including Crawford.

Eddie is promoting Madrimov well, but both Tim Tszyu and Vergil Ortiz are young guys in their prime. Terence is older but trains very effective and most likely will win in the scorecards. But Tim and Vergil would both stop Madrimov.
I love Eddie and I’m glad he has signed Boots but pipe down Edd when it comes to telling Bud to fight Boots.
I would love to see boots vs bud, but eddie it will never happen unless boots earns the spot. You know what bud wants, money or legacy (a 154/160 belt). Get either of those for boots and bud will look at him. Boots had the legacy angle, he was bud’s mandatory but he chose spence (who never fought his mandatories) for the ibf route instead of the wbo route against bud (who fought all of his mandatories). Spence chose wrong.
