I feel like the MC did Hamilton dirty. She butchered the name Hamiltons pharmacopeia because she’s never read the name or watched his show. And then she proceeds to call Michael pollan a psychedelic super star and one of the most influential people ever. Then she lists all these credentials excitedly.
Michael pollan is moreso just a scientist and author who started to take an interest in psychedelics. Hamiltons entire career has always been dedicated to psychedelic research and exquisite psychedelic journalism. Hamiltons the real super star here

After getting through so many Chem classes, I’m now taking my English 100 class for my GE after procrastinating it for years, and the professor I’m taking happened to choose one of Pollan’s books to focus the class around!!! Great interview. I loved Pollan's book and his approach to the subject - since everyone thinks he's the dude, it was refreshing to see him being challenged (but in a nice way). While Pollan gave great answers (once he'd got over the shock of a non-sycophantic interview style) I agree with Hamilton's position entirely...although perhaps he dwells a bit on the "what could go wrong" rather than "look at the progress". But it's great to see someone/something you really like being probed a bit rather than just a load of believers back-slapping.

The Oregon law for licensed trip sitters scares me. I get that we place people in situations of immense power; nurses, doctors, police officers, military personnel. The screening of these trip sitters will have to be thorough because they are watching people in an incredibly vulnerable state. I also question how having a stranger or someone who does not know you well present might impact the experience. What if I want to make passionate love to my partner? Am I going to have to ask someone to leave the room? Will I be forced to shield my emotions and not fully express myself because a stranger is in the room? If this becomes the only way to get a clean source of psychedelics I have no freedom to choose how I use them or my actions while under the influence. And frankly the ability to choose when and where the psychedelic experience takes place is critical to establishing good set and setting.

sure - when he isn’t reporting fiction as fact to advance his agenda. I was interviewed by hamilton morris approx. 2 years ago and hamilton exposed that he isn’t concerned with the truth about something as much as he’s concerned with advancing his career. hamilton morris is a proven corrupt journalist.

hamilton morris is my source; he appeared in a video for the museum and stated facts that were incorrect and misleading about us. hamilton morris after being confronted with his misleading statements chose the approval of the museum rather that being an ethical journalist and telling the truth. you will have to contact hamilton himself to find out why he made this unethical decision.

I'm glad that there's someone in mainstream culture that is as open in stating that drugs should be decriminalized as Hamilton is. I have thought drugs should be decriminalized for years. The pros clearly out weigh the cons. The crime rate and the war against our own citizens would be drastically taken down. I'm tired of knowing how many billions of American dollars are funding the Mexican cartel and crime ring.

It was a two-way street with Tim Leary. Journalists propped him up... but Leary loved the propping and danced with it. Turnoff, tune in and drop out became an anthem for the "psychonauts" of the day. That scared the shit out of mainstream America.

It was a walk through my life from 15 yrs. On so many familiar names of people who walked into my life! But for Leary. I went to his Acid Test but that was it for him! He was to out on front street for me! I preferred the down low lol

"...their tolerance for authoritarianism went down." - perhaps the reason why governments might fear the wide-spread use of psychedelics? Ultimately, it might not matter, because with extended use, psychedelics seem to help you also realize that we are all one, so "authority" is a projection of the mind anyhow.

Hence using the medicalization angle serves the plutocrats to hold control over Psychedelics in the long term. I was supporting the IP-12 initiative on Psilocybin here in Oregon that was an initiative to serve many private lives, private “Hobbyists”-as Hamilton claims, as well as medical research professionals & therapists. Sadly the “architect(s)”of the initiative Tom Eckert(I have doubts around whether the Eckerts were actually the ones to write the initiative in the first place)ultimately Tom was poisoned by the love of money. The Love of money being the root of all evil. I pulled a large investment for IP-12 when it became IP-34, which is the initiative that made it on the Ballot here in Oregon for November 2020. All of us should have the legal freedom to use, make, trade, any drug we so choose, including heroin, pcp, Methamphetamine, psychedelics etc.. this is what these Oligarchs desperately want to stop. Its massively disrupts their control over power & mass narrative.

@@rawbmar1166 I have found the effects of psychedelics to be variant in different people. What is challenging with shroomies is getting a constant dose and balancing that with each persons inherent body chemistry. I have seen identical measured doses have very different levels of intensity for different people. Ultimately we are talking about neural pathways and receptor sites and these are not present in the same numbers across users. In the same way our tastebuds are not all created equal. You can get a test to see how many tastebuds you have, how densely populated are they. For example master sommelier have far more tastebuds than the average person... same with master coffee tasters etc.
We are not all wired to be Shaman, if we were, like nothing would ever get done and we would still be sitting in caves contemplating realty all day.

If Michael Pollan's argument against legalization of mushrooms is because it leads to aggressive marketing campaigns (especially directed at younger populations), then the answer is not to limit legalization but, rather obviously, to limit aggressive marketing campaigns in the same way as tobacco and alcohol advertising.
