Saying "they take losses to international players the worst" might sound xenophobic, but foreign players (mainly Japanese) had been really dominant in Street Fighter IV and I think that is mainly speaking about frustration in being unable to overcome that barrier to their level of gameplay. In every fighting game outside of Smash, Japanese and Korean players used to seem like an insurmountable obstacle and it was only with Dragonball FighterZ and I suppose Blazblue and Guilty Gear Xrd that we started to see this changing. I believe it is because the arcade environment in Japan and Korea is very encouraging to have players meet and improve while a lot of high level players in America would only meet in paid tournaments and avoid letting their opponents adapt.
