Honestly if they make the whole cheating a misunderstanding on sheldons part I'm not sure how to feel about that it haunted him his whole life changed the way he saw his father and made him afraid to enter any room without knocking 3 times would be kind of dark if the whole thing was a dumb misunderstanding on his part.
it's sheldon. he was always clueless about stuff like that. but then again, and don't forget, stuff like that happens in real life where kids unknowingly walk in on their parents doing it and rush out of the room in a panic.
He said he never talked to his Dad about it. So in return I don't think he even talked to his mother about it. And Mary likely never talked to Sheldon about it cause it's awkward. Unless she had George talk to him but he didn't yet said he did. It makes sense for it to be a misunderstanding. See a lot of people saying Sheldon has good memory and etc. But he was a child seeing something like that clearly scared him. So he subconsciously saw something else, likely due to him holding his mother in high regard. Not only that, I don't think he knows about them sending letters to each other and how their relationship seems even better than when he went to Germany.
It would be really weird to make it some kind of misunderstanding on Sheldons part. He knows what his mom and dad look like . So he would know if he was walking in on his parents or not.
The only way I could see Sheldon misinterpreting the incident would be if the woman was some sort of healthcare person. Like a nurse or physical therapist. Maybe George gets injured and needs help getting into bed, so someone was helping him get undressed. Sheldon comes in, seeing his father naked/partially naked with a stranger sends his mind into an emotional and logical frenzy, which leads to trauma. He doesn’t want to talk about it with George and George doesn’t know how he can explain that to his son who overthinks everything, so they just leave it at that
I’m so sure the “knocking scene” is gonna be Mary in a wig, like some role play, and Sheldon gets it wrong. George Sn seems so in love with Mary at the minute and I can’t see how he can go from that to affair in this very short space of time.
Sad that they're already back in Texas. There could have been a lot more of character development both for Missy and Sheldon. But the season is too short😢

Because the writers ultimately decided that it wasn’t interesting to focus on Sheldon studies in Germany so they decide to just make a typical slice of life family issue season. Yes, it’s pretty disappointing, especially after all the building of last season. Now, it’s pretty common for series, for example in CK season 5, we only spend 2 episodes at Mexico and in Gossip Girl, we got only 2 episodes in Paris.
see last season they really focused on the fact Mary was spending a lot of time with pastor rob and George with brenda but S7 they haven’t mentioned them or seen them, I think they’re just going to focus on George and Mary in love considering he literally passes

Sure I watched TBBT so we know where this is going, but how do you really think this is going to end. Wonder Years style where the father passed away essencially off screen and Sheldon narrates how he felt or how he sees his father differently now that he himself is a father, a hardcore drama where the father has a heart failure and passes away, or some other way. I am think the first, but how do you think they are going to handle this, and whatever other plot lines?

So it looks like we are getting this episode. Given that George Sr. isn't showing signs of being in ill health, the theory I had a few years ago. that the other woman was a home visiting nurse is going to turn out to be false. Well, I have three more guesses as to how it could still be a misunderstanding. 1.) The other woman is the mother of Missy's new boyfriend. She is over at the house looking for her son and accidentally walks into the master bedroom while George is taking a nap. Her and George were asking the other where their kids were. 2.) The other woman is actually Mandy. She and Georgie are attempting coitus in different rooms in the house, and the master bedroom, with its big bed, was on their list. George Sr walked in on her waiting for George Jr., and the pair were arguing about boundaries when Sheldon walked in. Sheldon mistakingly believeing that Mandy and his dad had an affair could also explain why he and Georgie grew so far apart and why adult Sheldon does not acknowledge Mandy or Cece as family. 3.) I have heard the theory that Sheldon actually walked in on both his parents, and his mom was just dressed up like someone else. There is some merit to this theory since in the last episode, Mary kinda illudeds to role-playing an affair with George. If that is what happened, though, then I find it kinda odd that neither of his parents tried to check on Sheldon or explain to him what he saw.
Your last theory sounds plausible. However, it still doesn't answer why Mary had so much hatred and bitterness towards her late husband in TBBG. The last episode shows them getting along quite well. I wonder how much time will pass within these next 11 episodes.
Here comes the cheating. I know people want it to be a misunderstanding on Sheldon' side which is unlikely given the premise the show has set with previous seasons. Mary and George do love each other, they are not dedicated towards one another. Given that Mary had been away, its likely that George did cheat.
You gotta realize, after this episode they only have 10 episode left for the season, and the show. 22 minutes an episode, they need a lot of time for development

So it looks like we are getting this episode. Given that George Sr. isn't showing signs of being in ill health, the theory I had a few years ago. that the other woman was a home visiting nurse is going to turn out to be false. Well, I have three more guesses as to how it could still be a misunderstanding.
1.) The other woman is the mother of Missy's new boyfriend. She is over at the house looking for her son and accidentally walks into the master bedroom while George is taking a nap. Her and George were asking the other where their kids were.
2.) The other woman is actually Mandy. She and Georgie are attempting coitus in different rooms in the house, and the master bedroom, with its big bed, was on their list. George Sr walked in on her waiting for George Jr., and the pair were arguing about boundaries when Sheldon walked in. Sheldon mistakingly believeing that Mandy and his dad had an affair could also explain why he and Georgie grew so far apart and why adult Sheldon does not acknowledge Mandy or Cece as family.
3.) I have heard the theory that Sheldon actually walked in on both his parents, and his mom was just dressed up like someone else. There is some merit to this theory since in the last episode, Mary kinda illudeds to role-playing an affair with George. If that is what happened, though, then I find it kinda odd that neither of his parents tried to check on Sheldon or explain to him what he saw.
Your last theory sounds plausible. However, it still doesn't answer why Mary had so much hatred and bitterness towards her late husband in TBBG. The last episode shows them getting along quite well. I wonder how much time will pass within these next 11 episodes.

Because the whole season hasn't been filmed yet. Netflix will release it when the whole season has been aired.
Here comes the cheating. I know people want it to be a misunderstanding on Sheldon' side which is unlikely given the premise the show has set with previous seasons. Mary and George do love each other, they are not dedicated towards one another. Given that Mary had been away, its likely that George did cheat.

Not true. They are still following the TBBT time line. The three knocking doesn't start until Sheldon caught his father with another woman. It hasn't happenned yet. It's coming.

So what happened at 0:08 would mean a few things and, that why sheldon made a suprised face.
1. George Having intercourse with another woman.(Aka George cheating)
2. George and Mary doing a little bit of roleplay( Sheldon mistaking Mary for Another Woman and thinking his dad was Cheating)
3. Missy Having Intercourse with a boy from School. (Crazy Fan theory)

To make something that becomes such a defining moment in his life simply a misunderstanding is such a destruction of the integrity of this show.
