This beautiful bear refuge has stolen our hearts and I'm sure it would for anyone who visits it. The surrounding area is sensationally beautiful, and is genuinely the most humbly magical place we've experienced in our time exploring Croatia.

⤈ WHO WE ARE ⤈
We are Philly and Keely and we live full time in our tiny home on wheels Martha. After building our DIY home in a Citroen Relay camper we spent a year living on the streets of London before quitting our jobs only to be met with lockdown. So after waiting for six months for the borders to reopen in Ireland we have finally hit the road in June 2021 and spent 90 days enjoying vanlife in Spain. Now we have just finished our time in the very beautiful Spain and have arrived safely in Croatia for the next leg of our journey.

Thank you and happy for you to find this magical place,I spend 7 a 8years volunteering,first time in 2004 and the last time in 2013 with my malteser doggy together, I have put in my own funds and working hands,sorry you have missed a beautifull hike from upwards kuterevo into the nearby mountains and it reminds me a lot about the native people from the americas while the local people also carved from wood utentils and even a handmade kind of mandolin, in Croatia called tamboriže,thank you for the recent update and wish you a good day and safe travels Roy van Zadel in the Netherlands now,you are both welcome to stop by at my home when you are in the neighbourhood dear greetings Roy

if youre still in croatia you can visit to rosewelt village in fužine. it also shelters animals like this (but not like bears but horses and such haha) and it is a cowboy village, also zeleni vir and vražji prolaz is pretty nice place to visit. its a nature park :D

Yeah was so wonderful!! You would love it there, can totally imagine you getting lost for months there looking after the bears and horses, you would be in your element! Maybe one day you could come volunteer at somewhere like this ❤️❤️❤️

Glad you guys went here. Its a special place for sure. Bruno has a particularly sad story. One of the only souvenir we carry around in the van is a little wooden bear from there. Enjoy your travels inland!
