HI Matt I emailed Glycine about this controversy and this is the reply that I received:-"the winged logo was released 2 year ago to celebrate our history but we had switch back to normal logo ( which resemblance better our history ) last year.
we had some issues with the winged logo and was not appreciated by our collectors and fans around the world.
    "
    best regards
    GLYCINE

Cool man, I had been wondering the same thing! Now we can put that to bed! Thanks for doing the vid, I'm certain others will find it useful too! New collector's vocabulary coming up: "unintentional limited edition" lol

You are welcome. But I gotta give the credit to Luke for giving me the info. I just made the vid. 🤣 yeah that is a good way to describe it. “ULE” Unintentional Limited Edition. 🤣

Thanks for the video. Can confirm after getting my new Glycine GL0094 that it has the old (now new again?) crown style logo on box, dial, crown etc. Also has the o-ring on the crown stem, but no drilled lugs. Stunning watch though 😍

    Hi,
I just added a comment to your previous video on this logo issue. Prior to the thinner silver applied logo, Glycine’s precious logo did look very similar to the latest version on your green-bezel watch. But when printed on watch dials, it was always a solid filled-in logo, rather than the new ‘outline’ version. I hope this helps.

Interesting, so this means by having the updated logo this will or should be more collectable? My opinion the original logo looks more solid to the branding... Armani are Italian and don't make as good watches, so should've been proud of Glycine :)) Great content my friend, cheers for the knowledge!

    • @rockthewatch

WatchUP69 Mr Rangeman thank you sir. I looked at the Armani watches and they didn’t look very good.

@@rockthewatch It's a fashion style... some of their watches are Swiss Made, but it's down to the individual, but anyone buying one for me would would have to give me the receipt, plus it would prove they don't watch my channel LML :-P
But you have to realise that fashion watches sell the most, and with my eye on the public wrist, fashion watches look to be a favourite... I feel Armani and BOSS watches are good favourites. I never say anything, as this doesn't offend me, as long as happiness is made from it then it's doing a lovely job.
So my question... which logo do you prefer, I'm for the original... looks simple and clean and recognisable :))

    • @rockthewatch
      @rockthewatch  4 года назад +1

WatchUP69 Mr Rangeman I agree sir. The original “CROWN” logo for me. Looks a lot cleaner. I think Emporio Armani did Glycine a favor. 🤣

@@rockthewatch I'm with you... but still leaves the matter that the new logo will become more collectable in the future... so hang onto it for now :)

This explanation seems strange Matt as Longines, Breitling, and Invicta all have similar logos. Also if you look very closely at it the winged logo has the castle one superimposed on it. All these brands are of course much older than Armani. Has anyone emailed Glycine to see what they have to say. Keep up the good work Matt!!

Andrew Main you bring up an interesting point sir. I will do some more research and see how far this rabbit hole goes down. Thanks for derailing it all🤣🤣. Just kidding man thanks for the comment and if I find anything else out I will everybody know. I’m the meantime keep Rocking those Watches Andrew 🤘🏻

Maybe the winged logo watches will be worth more down the road since it was limited production.

With the way stuff is going now you could be correct 🤣

The one on the right looks like the original, but at the same time is a little different. The original is solid white crown the new original is blank crown. Some how they have change the movement as well even they called the same.
For instance GL 224 could be ETA 2824-2 or SW 200. With the "wing" logo they have ETA2824-2 and with the new old logo SW200
It's a kind of a mess. Depends what you preference is, to have a watch that has a logo that looks like the original one or the one with ETA2824-2 movement in it

Thank God Armani sued them, the old (and now new) logo is far better than that crappy winged monstrosity which 'just happened' to look like the Invicta logo.

Glycine has won the right to use the new wing logo against Armani in 2019 according to this link: www.worldipreview.com/news/armani-hit-with-tm-defeat-by-top-swiss-court-18357 Now, although Glycine has no intention to revert back to the wing logo at the moment, however it remains to be debatable in the future.

Well Glycine expert. Please enlighten us as to what the real story is with the two different logos. But before you do you might want to watch the last video I did on this where I literally read the news article about why there are different logos. As a matter of fact maybe you can make a video about it on your channel to let everyone know how smart you are. 🤡
