you can only guess at the history, the stories, the lives saved, the comaradery, the intense relief when she arrived at a stricken vessel - you are completely correct
Yes I remember this launch well Very hard n cold winter didn't get all that had to be done finished on land. Not bad for a pair of Fords after 6 months sitting still ay? I love those engines nothing flash but faithful old men "Thank God" .Very kind of you to film her thanks and hope to see you in whitehills again
Wonderful I think they are air cooled Gardner diesels? Somebody did the north west passage across canada in a converted one of them. Read the book 20 years. Ago, I think he went on round the world! You would think they would make good conversions to a pleasure boat but they had hugh areas inside filled with flotation blocks. They could be removed but.... Still just really great to see the boat being kept alive. Warren
I, that boat had two 4lw Gardners, I read that book, but this boat has two Ford 4 cylinder diesels by the sound of them and earlier posts. It would have been interesting to see inside her.
*_I built Tubby Tug in the past. I belonged to a boat club and everyone was impressed. I own a 1973 Chris Craft cabin cruiser, and to tell the truth we had more fun with the Tubby than we did with our big boats [Check Details Here==>_**_plus.google.com/u/0/110086446704524205338/posts/Tne32X7jLc5_**_ ].It was great working with them._*
There is something about an old lifeboat that always makes me stop and watch.

fabulous to see a relaunch of a historic lifeboat
nice to see the old boats repurposed & used instead of cut up.

Can you elaborate on the power units for a vessel this size. Obviously there twin deisels.
I wonder if this lifeboat was lowered from a deck of a ship originally? Thanks for showing her off.
