◇ "Trei culori" (Three colours / tricolour) was the national anthem of the Socialist Republic of Romania. The lyrics of the song largely refer to the three colours of the Romanian flag - blue, yellow and red - which have remained on the Romanian flag through centuries of history.

Altough yeah, none of them Beat "Deșteaptă-te Române", that one is just too good.

@@paulghencea9037 I get that this song is catchy, but many mid anthems are pretty catchy. The lyrics are also just…vanity. They seem very artificial and imposed upon the song. But hey, at least we can agree on how much of a banger the current anthem is! 🇷🇴

Romania was just a socialist republic. Hence it was proclaimed RSR (the Romanian Socialist Republic). We distanced ourselves from the Soviet Union as much as we could and Ceausescu condemned the Czechoslovakian invasion, but the soviets warned that they will invade us too and we sent one or two tank battalions(the minimum)

I agree, Ceausescu started off as a decent leader, with good land reforms and modernization but eventually he lost his mind and tore up hundreds of buildings in Bucharest to build a big dumb palace and a long grand avenue thought the city center, it’s no wonder he was overthrown.
