    Are inductors more effective than (power) resistors to smooth ripples in power supply sections, e.g. CRC's?
    I'd like to learn more about that. Thank you!

      Resistors don’t smooth ripples. Capacitors can do that, though, and in combination, capacitors and inductors can be quite effective.

    Just in case it's unclear (not nuclear), there's another name you can come across: reactor. Paul Carlson mentions it quite often.
