I remember Pink kinda being seen as the underdog in the early 2000’s when the likes of Britney, Christina, Jessica etc.. all started to rise to fame. And here she is, decades later, still being true to herself and still producing fantastic music. I have enormous respect for her.

This song is a fucking anthem to those who feel opressed, damaged, lonely, unheard and have a voice. This song hits me to the core every time I hear it. I absolutely love this.
This song touches me so deeply I can't even put it into words. I watch the video and think of my incredible mother who without her love, patience and guidance I would not be here today. She knew how to give me the right balance of love and understanding and kick my ass when I needed it and I'm so thankful for that. I also see myself as the mother of a daughter who will soon be 12. Struggling to find the right balance of guidance and love but letting her be her own person and also balancing discipline when needed. A mother who worries about her children constantly knowing how sensitive they are. A mother who wants them to keep their sensitive side but also wants to make sure the have a tough skin to withstand the harshness of life.

There are some interesting references here that are subtle in a good way. I especially love the desert scene: reminds me of her struggle to release Try This after her breakthrough with M!ssundazstood. There was strong pressure on her (she struggles to get up), watched by the general public as she had become a star and her label (the flying eyes). Her label wanted a M!ssundazstood Part 2, but P!nk didn't want to take that direction (a desert that is void of creativity) and she was really isolated and treated badly by them. She then saw Cher (with a reference to P!nks future with the "Just Like Fire" costume?), who inspired her to keep going during hard times. P!nk went on to release her most adventurous record with Try This and broke free from her label and their creative control (the lifeboat).

Have loved P¡NK since she first landed on MTV right at the end of them actually playing music videos at least half of the time. Always admired her stance of being true to herself and her music and how her music didn't fit neatly into one little box. Identified personally with many of her songs and was always blown away by that voice. Collaborated with "the big voices of the time" - namely Christina Aguilera in Lady Marmalade and Kelly Clarkson in Everybody Hurts. More than held her own. She should be known as a big voice, but she's got so many accolades I probably missed that one. She is an artist in just about every possible way a person in her field is or can be. I would love to see her live once before I die.
I just wanna say that I deeply honor Alecia for having the mental power to make this and "fit" her life into about 5 and a half minutes...
She is a true role model for all the girls and women out there, wanting to be accepted and understood and not looked down. She gives all of us hope and power, expecially in these hard times.

As a person who was raised by an alcoholic mother, I can relate to this video so much. As a child (and young adult), I was so angry at her. It wasn't until I became a mother that I could see that through all her flaws and errors, she was doing the best she could. And in that, I found forgiveness and now I have a better relationship with her.

I’ve been listening to your music for as long as I can remember and my mum always has to and my daughter loves you and willow. But this song is amazing, I cried the first time I heard it. It was like all the things I wish I could say and would want for my daughter. I never knew love and freedom till I had her. I watched your doco (it was amazing) and interviews you did and listened to your story about why you wrote this song and it was so inspiring.
