The Unit | 더 유닛 - Ep.12
:This week’s episode of The Unit is left with the rest of the male groups’ performances for the end of Restart Mission. Through hardships, The Unit finishes all the performances and gets emotional as the winning female and male teams are announced. After going through a tough practice, the two winning teams and the mentor, Rain’s joint-performance is revealed.

I feel like people voted on exo and bts songs and not on the performances. I mean i love them both songs, but I believe 'her' was so well made, it was just too good i hope they are all safe:(

In my opinion, when the decision of who was going the be in first place, it was “EXO-Monster and BTS-Fire” I immediately knew it was very biased only because of the song they performed. If anything, it felt like “Her” should’ve been at top also

"Her" is a song that requires a lot of character in every aspect (vocal, visual, physical). When looking at "Her" team's overall performance, I genuinely feel like they should've been 1st or 2nd. Even the other performers were surprised at them being last. They had it all; they weren't awkward, they channeled Block B's quirkiness, they delivered in vocals and rap. They were INCREDIBLE. How in the world did they get last?

As a Shinhwa fan since 1999, I was really happy that One Junn picked Perfect Man right from the start. The boy knows quality!

I love how it doesn't take them an eternity to announce the winners, unlike Mix Nine and other shows that repeat the same scene over and over and focus on every contestant's face before getting to the point.

I am a proud EXO-L for 7 years now and yet everytime I watch this I still feel dissatisfied that "Her" did not get the first place or at least the top spots. I agree with most of the comments that people definitely vote for "Monster" because it was sang by EXO. Do not get me wrong, the contestants who covered "Monster" are all great but I felt that the "Her" group deserve more than what they had received.

I know everyone on the Monster team thought that D.O's first verse and that bit in the chorus were the best bits to get people's attention on that performer, but personally I think Junhee got the best bit with 'Don't be afraid, Love is the way. Shawty I got it, you can call me monster' as that's the bit I always fangirl most over, regardless of who from what group is singing it XD

Nur Atiqah I agree with you, even the solo rankings are so biased. Jiwon getting the first place when the others in her team did a lot more of efforts in showcasing their voices. Well I guess The Unit isn't really about the talent, it's the crowd's choice after all.
For real, but honestly something I noticed with survival shows is that popularity before the survival accounts to the actual votes. BTS has a lot of fans and EXO has lots of fans, so their songs would be most popular. Sometimes that's why I just don't want to watch the rest of the show, but what can you do.. the crowd chooses who they want

I feel like the audience just voted for Fire because of the popularity of the original group, its an awesome song but I think the team didn't performed it as good as other teams with their respectives songs. I accept Monster team being in first place, the have popular members, their vocals are good and their dancing had no mistakes. But I was expecting Her and Boom Boom teams to be in the top 3.
YES, just, YES, could not agree more. The fire performance was quite lacking in comparison to others. Boom Boom and Her truly deserved better ranking, they had such a great stage presence and performance, with team black's energy and team blue's playfulness. The final ranking is definitely too biased but at least the first place was rightfully owned.

Giovanna Hernandez I am now finally watching these episodes and I gotta say that I’m an ARMY so it’s a given that I wouldn’t hate on BTS. That said, I agree. I think voting was done based on the original artists and not the idols performing in the competition. Which makes me sad. 😓
I mean honestly I thought the Fire group was amazing. They kept the energy up, they didnt sound like they were off tune at least to me and their voices were steady while dancing.

I do think the "Monster" performance deserved to win, but Her and Boom Boom as 6th and 7th??? That was nonsense! They deserved more in my opinion, the Heartbeat team also did a tremendous job. I liked the Fire performance too but they weren't 2nd place material in my opinion :/

U sureeeeeee~~~~??? Can't u see it? Everyone realised Seyong was edited and considered as devil and received backlash for that. They also practice favouritism. Hundreds of faces participate on the show but only similar faces had been seen. That's unfair. Jun ace was recognized by fellow the unit participants for his outstanding vocal yet the camera men edited him out of the camera. He even did his own vlog to show what he do during the unit. Editor also put kijoong on screen when he said "least fav person" in the The unit. It makes seyong lools more bad. Yet all seyong did was praising kijoong for his character..

Actually in Perfect Man team , the guy who said that they had to practice singing was right , if I watch a group that can’t dance that much but have good vocals I will keep watching, but if it is the the opposite I won’t keep watching !!

Rewatching this in 2021 and I am just as mad now about the Her team ranking as I was when I first watched the show in early 2018. I would have placed them in first
I honestly think perfect man team performed the best. Man that song is hard to sing and they performed it really well. And omg HER deserved better.
Aissh people are so biased. Okay, Monster was nice but Fire was nothing special while Her was like DAMMN. I also think that Juliett should have been the last: it's really difficult to perform that song, mostly because of Jonghyun's vocals, that's what makes it special, so they couldn't really pull out the best from it. Boom Boom was alsa crazy, energetic and plus 100 points for the dance. Perfect Man was indeed perfect, if the audince had known the song better, it must have got 1st place. I was also impressed by Heartbeat, they really caught that feeling, the concept, the dance and everything. Yeah well Monster was a bit of a "too perfect" performance, like they didn't lack anything but it could have been a bit more specail, it felt like they didn't add anything to the original song. And Fire getting 2nd place was clearly because everything is about bts now, the rap lines didn't sound really good altho the dance part looked amazing they lackef vocals and they had the same problem as Monster Team; they wanted to copy the original too much.

I loved all the performances but I didn't think Fire or Monster should've been the top picks. I thought they were 5th and 6th. Perfect Man, Her, Juliette, or Heartbreak for me should have been somewhere more around the top. But nevertheless I'm glad that they all did their best.

Mrs.Jeon97 monster was good but fire never stood out ....I felt it the result should have been 1-Monster , 2-Perfect Man ,3- Boom Boom , 4-Her , 5-Fire ,6-Heartbeat, 7-Juliet.....Monster had better vocals than Boom Boom and Perfect Man looked really good as a group and had a special charm they did complete justice to the song plus the main vocals had strong voices , but Ya monster deserved 1st cause the vocals and dance was amazing...they did lack a bit of charisma but it looked great as a group...

I don’t think you guys realize how good Jun of Ukiss is. He misses most practices, he is rarely in the evaluations and present, he probably got in Perfect Man cuz he wasn’t there to pick, AND HE STILL MANAGES TO BE ON THE TOP A LOT AND BE GREAT. Like even if he misses so much he is still not a drag but a boost for the teams he joins ! That’s my mans. He is such a hard working member of Ukiss. He sings and raps and dances and is good looking ALL GOOD. He was throwing in an old group as a 16 year old and had to manage to keep up and is managing Ukiss and the unit at the same time LIKE JUST INCREDIBLE.

10:10 is still my favorite moment from The Unit. Chiyeol praises Jeup like he really can't believe how good he is and why he is not famous yet. I am sure he rooted for him all the way. The way he said "You really are something special." is so precious.
Some people may talk a lot of crap about Marco, but I don't care I love Marco and his personality. Now that being said The "Juliette" cover by SHINee from Team Yellow was pretty bad in my honest opinion, but it was a nice effort.

I said it because the fandom of BTS and EXO are so powerful... So there was no doubt that those two team would take first and second places unless any miracle happened.... So, if they would give only EXO's and BTS' songs as option(As you can see the performance on Her was incredible and so others but after all it's BTS and EXO again) all the team would be judged properly(maybe) ... Or they could just avoid BTS and EXO...
