Watch me shoot the beautiful Tea in this super sick behind the scenes Natural Light Masterclass. ruclips.net/video/DczfvXIs-fY/видео.htmlsi=cwLhY4ahE6BmN50c
Thank you for making this video and breaking down and explaining how younmoving the light was going to effect the photo with the casting of shadow under her chin. Looking forward to the other videos that you made from this shoot.
I love all of your shoots! I worked with models and magazines almost exclusively for just over 10 years with my Canon, then stepped away to do screenwriting. Just over a year ago now, I returned to photography BUT this time with iPhone photography and while I work on my gallery still life? I’m also working with models again! It’s refreshing to see another photographer with basically the same mindset and style I have! Excellent work! Keep it up and I will keep watching!
This was so instructive, the lighting was stellar I loved the use of reflective boards and having a model like that made the pictures so interesting! you can tell she knows what she's doing, the way she moves reminds me of a 90s supermodel.
I do this as a teaching tool. If I have assistants on set or if I’m making content. I don’t need to have these types of markers on the floor always but as you see how much it helps for explanations. Makes sense right? Make sure you say you saw it here first.
Made it through the whole video, a lot of information to digest. The way you instruct the model on where and how to position her head and hands to the way your using light to accent the shots. I will have to watch the a few more times. Just fantastic is to put it mildly! Thanks again sir!
Great energy, I can feel it, I was told that no body is taking pictures at a studio anymore because everybody have a phone, thanks for sharing great stuff.
🔥🔥 I done my 1st photoshoot and learnt so much just last week and now watching this I’m feeling that rush again! This was epic! For sure as you arrived at the gold reflector and back lighting, it went to the next level. Dope
At about 24:30 after she drops her hands with the strong backlight. Those were my favourite shots. Great video! Thanks Carty. Great way to experience professionals working.
@@stevecarty yes man, your content brings a fantastic dynamic to the community. We’re still very small but growing and having your teachings available bring real value to Pictas. Thank so much for everything you do!
Lately I am trying to up my studio photography skills as I am looking our for some kind of mentor in my local area. This video and your overall content is so freakin´ valuable to me. Big thank you for sharing your wisdom Carty!
Inspirational to watch, I definitely need to work on my motivational language with the model. And I finally get to see someone use the gold side of a 5-1 reflector on a person of color in a photo shoot amazing effect. Thank you.
You guys should really sit down and have a discussion about how far you could both take your careers with the quality of work that was displayed today. With your direction, guidance and team working with you the sky is the limit. Phelix
We’ve been doing this together for 10yrs. Best growth comes from diversity. I work with about 5 muah (makeup and hair) people. Shawnna works with way more shooters than just me. Can’t just have one style. Diversity gives you range. For me and her.
Love your energy, Carty! And the way you proceed by shooting through the pose and exploring so many different angles of the model's placement. Your methodology is so precise and organized. Thank you! Love the community you've created. Cheers!
This video is everything to me......the vibe, techniques, fun atmosphere. The black backdrop photos are my favorite along with the ones at 21:25 mark. I love using studio lighting and I will definitely "borrow" some techniques in this video, thank you Carty appreciate you.
i've been a working pro for 33 years. i'm obv going to be doing some shit you've never seen before. you got this. you found me. stay close. join my discord community and watch more content.
Hey Steve great video, you really made this simple setup look amazing. I have a question, I have smaller studio setup in my garage is there a way to achive this look in a more confine space?
Pretty much yes. Note my lighting placement and my modifiers. At one point here I’m using a massive 140cm softbox. Note how I use the reflection on the underneath with this light position and what it does. And the one on the side. The light with me is always hyper specific.
26:11 i felt a real sadness from Shana (Shauna idk how to spell) when you said we lost it. The emotional connection from the sensor side of camera is so often so strong. Great video--it's such a pleasure to see how you worked on that day. I was wondering if you actually used the light meter mentioned in the corroded battery comment because I just got the L-858D-U after your video on how important they are.
I know they are the first few frames, but I am wondering about where to frame my portraits sometimes. Is it not bad to cut off the outer edges of her arms like this? Or is the purpose of this photo soley her face, and whatever else happens doesn't matter?
Hello! Karla Here! I just found you and am obsessed! I loved this video, very insightful ❤ I have a question. Do you use a light meter? How do you decide on what your settings will be? Thank you!
Yes. I used a meter in this video right in the beginning. Watch my video 2 simple ways to flatter with one light in this same playlist. It’s a bit more beginner and will explain how I meter and how to use it exactly. Too much to explain in comments. Link is here ruclips.net/video/n74Y9hnd-GA/видео.htmlsi=FStC-Rs62-pl7sCt I hope it helps.
lol.. let's see your work. those that don't do criticize and leave comments on others. here's mine. stevecarty.com/archive i'll check back the link to your work although i don't expect to see anything inspired. if you were a working pro you'd be too busy working to be watching me. enjoy life. stop trolling. you're better than that.

Thx for watching sarah!
This is a good one! I love the energy, the vibe and the photos just wow. My favourite is at the end, the shot of the day!
Thx Seb
I have always loved backlighting. But what I enjoyed watching you do was making it work & trying out different ways to achieve your shot.
Thx for watching Nina. Appreciate you. Stay close.
loved the planning of using the tape, i was only using tape to mark spots, but now i will start using tape to mark out everything

Great job on your shoot!

That’s not true at all. There are craftsmen like me in every major market in the world. Look at behance.net/photography

Some of the best shots the model gave is when the camera was not working. Ex 24:52 in the video.
So much to learn in this video. Thanks Carry. 🎉❤❤
Awesome shoot Carty...
This was so fire bro great work
Carty, loved the shoot. The skill and energy is contagious, man. I was locked in the whole time. Cheers to you, the team and model.
Appreciate you

Miss you sam. I miss ya in discord and in the lives. I hope you’re prospering.
Still watching. I’ll be more active again.
I love this type content!!
I definitely like your setup method. I’m still building on instructing models.
You can do anything you focus your energy on.
Wow😮 Hopefully I catch more of your videos like this! I have so much room to grow! Thanks for this type of content

It may be a 5 in one but I think they are useless. I just needed the gold. And I rarely ever use gold bounce. Always white. This one was a rarity
That was fun to watch… your energy, professionalism, style, skill, and attention to detail were on point! Keeeeep
Killlin’ IT!
For me, it was definitely the gold reflector set that I really liked. The glow was gorgeous 😍
The flow, enthusiasm and energy was amazing! Great BTS!
thx for finding me smitty. stay close.

Thought I knew what I was doing in studio. I realize I know nothing now. Amazing video, going to implement a lot of this going forward.

Just part of the equation. I shoot non models as well
Just awesome 👌🏿
21:00 ❤ Thanks for sharing!
I appreciate all the prep in precisely placing the tape lines for axis points. Huge tip!…and yeah…I need a good tripod 😂
Thx for noticing all the details

It’s beauty. Search beauty photography on behance.net I’m shooting industry standard framing.
