While working on this mix, the score for Shazam! has become my favorite in the DCEU; that surprised me, because I love the scores for Man of Steel, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman. This film kind of feels like an 80’s adventure movie with a modern aesthetic, and Benjamin Wallfisch captures that perfectly. The score - especially the main theme ( 8:22 ) - really conveys the feeling of wonder that is inherent in the premise of a kid becoming a superhero. It feels like it would fit in perfectly with some of the best scores from the 80's and 90's by John Williams, Alan Silvestri, and others of the era. It takes me back to my childhood in all the right ways.
