I love Gazcue . I used to live there and my mom lives there. Quiet residential area with lots of vibrant life surrounding zona colonial malecón hotels casino etc
Love the content. I have an apartment in NACO, just a few minutes walk from the Domipak. The thing I love most about being in NACO, is that I'm just about 5-7 minutes from Piantini and all it's glamour... I can't stay away from Allegra restaurant, and the Pear Ravioli. For me it's NACO and Piantini. It's funny because they are only a few minutes from each other. I like that I am 5-10 walk to 2 supermercado nacionals, Bravo, Wendy's, McDonalds, Burger King, There's a Coffee shop right by the McDonalds, )Although, I don't eat fast food), and I can pickup all my Amazon shipments from Domipak. I absolutely love living in the NACO neighborhood.

As a former resident ( my dad worked here 1970-1992) I can tell you .. indeed Piantini has always been an upscale region - Naco emerging shortly thereafter. I have nostalgic memories of all the areas you mentioned. Personally , we grew up near ( where Agora Mall is now) in Serralles neighborhood- between Piantini an Naco) Many years ago later, I’m now retired in Punta Cana - but make a week trip to my old neighborhood every 2-3,months 😅. I used to always stay in the Gascue area when I was there. My go to hotel when I was there about 20yrs back was Hotel Santo Domingo. I had family in Trinta de Mayo area, and my bar was in front of La Puerta de Misericordia. Great video Jay... Wasn't aware of Blue Mall. I'm gonna have to check it out. Also I want to go to Pantini area to look for condos purchase after New Year.

My list would only differ because I prioritize sea views over views of buildings. A few buildings in Piantini and Naco (those closer to the seas) have some decent sea views mixed with city views. Bella Vista has the Cave restaurant (or is that a little outside of the neighborhood line?), P.F. Chang's, Tony Roma's, and almost all the U.S. fast food restaurants mentioned in the other areas (not Krispy Kreme). Grocery stores are pretty good (Nacional and La Sirena). Unidos is nice, too.
Well put Jay, great value. I live in El Millon, and it’s quite nice, I must say. There is two big supermarkets around, which is Jumbo and Nacional, Down Town shopping mall, two Smart Fit Gym closed by and it’s very accessible to other neighborhoods. There is a couple parks and playground as well. Public transportation is there, however it can improve.

I stayed again at that Holiday Inn on Av Abe Lincoln.. they have even done some "upgrades" in there, very nice look! I told them get to the capital and look you up if they were serious... little L got me hooked up on the wrist!! 🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂.... appreciate you'll man!!💯💯
Great video - totally spot on! How about Villa Mella (where I’m from)? 😂 worth mentioning is Los Cacicazgos and Arroyo Hondo. I love Bella vista because of the proximity to parque Mirador del Sur - I just love such a beautiful big park in the middle of the city within walking distance, makes me feel in NY’s Central Park. I think the whole “Polígono Central” is very safe and has lots of amenities/eye candy - can’t go wrong in there, if you can afford it!

I had the worst experience at Peperoni. I made a reservation 2 weeks in advance for indoor seating. Arrived w my gf at the time, they tried to seat us on the patio, I refused because I booked for inside, plus it was super hot outside. They refused to seat us and told us that the dining room was fully booked. Crazy, there were only 2 tables with people, no one waiting, and I had a reservation. They refused to seat us then ignored us afterwards. We left and went to a more low-key spot. I hate that many Dominicans accept the bias and discrimination.
Fa sho, I've shopped in Bravo many times prior it just there were none close to me. Now that this one is Naco I'll go more often. Nacional still it the best supermercado here but that's my opinion. You know I'm boogie for life! 😂😂

I actually like Naco better than Piantini. I lived in Naco back in the 80’s before I came to the US, and Plaza Naco was one of the first malls there. Is plaza Naco still there? It has been too long since I been back there. BTW, love your videos and definitely have me thinking about moving back.
I don't know any popular one in Gazcue. There is one not too far from Gazcue called Colmado La Vengaza. Its really popular. Its another in Zona Colonial on called Colmado Los Muchachos

Santo Domingo is made up with mostly Dominicans. There is not an area, besides Zona Colonial which is a tourist area, that is made up with mostly expats. Anywhere you live here you'll be among mostly if not all Dominicans.

This video was my top 5 favorite. Not the best neighborhoods. Los Cacigocoz is a great neighborhood but it's not in my top 5. I'd rather live in the areas mentioned. Alma Rosa too is nice but again not in my top 5 favorite😅😅
The real problem with Los Cacicazgos is that no businesses law for the area. You can't really walk to anything except the park. They have to go to one of the neighborhoods Jay mentioned for a decent variety of businesses (restaurants, malls, lounges, theaters, etc.). Otherwise, it's very nice looking and has great sea views.

Ilike the El Millon area also. If I did a top 10 it would fall in there. Along with Evaristo Morales, La Julia, ect.
