Your Tarpon reel Blew up on you? No surprise! The smile on the face of the Keys guide when he sees a Tibor Gulfstream or Abel when you board the skiff!
In my opinion sealed drag is not necessary at all... been fishing Galvan reels for years without sealed drags and I still have all of them and they haven't even needed servicing I just make sure to rinse them in fresh water after every session... I had Lamson reels before that with sealed drags and had constant problems with leaks and rusted out conical drag clutches.
@@Raevenswood BINGO. i dont understand the hype behind sealed systems. saltwater will always find a way in. id rather have a cork drag that i can wash off and add a drop of grease to. the most beautiful pieces of machinery are those with the least moving parts. gimme a tibor, or an abel cork drag. i was told a long time ago by an old salty captain: buy a fancy reel every few years, buy a tibor and leave it in your will to your favorite grandson!!!!!!!!!!!

Great advice. Thanks!

Have you ever had any trouble trying to carry the rod case onto the airplane with you?
No sir! At least not with the Dakota Carry-On Case from Fishpond.
