The amount of balls it took to say this in 1948 with thousand of segregationist conservative Dixiecrats in the audience is truly astounding. A speech like this would easily have ended most people's careers at that time in history. One of the greatest VPs of all time and one of the biggest reasons why LBJ went so far to obtain Civil Rights as he did. Truly a great duo of men.

If only Humprey, the Happy Warrior won the 1968 election instead of Nixon. We would have a better, a kinder America

Such an amazing orator and message! He really set the tone for a nonracist Democratic Party.
Edit: Also, thank you so much Hephaestion for taking the time and energy to clean up the audio for this important piece of history.

Freemason and the Masonic organization Knights Templar HHH was a member. I saw HHH briefly in 1968 as a teenager. I am a Republican but HHH was a great member of his party. I am a proud Freemason and Knight Templar.

This was one of the great speeches in American political history, definitely one of the best at a DNC, one that changed the course of American history and for the cause of civil and human rights.

Why didn't they shoot this in 4K color? Were they stupid?

I know you think your clever, but that is really not a crazy thing, many things in 1948 were being shot on film, 32mm film can be scanned to be higher then 4K, and color 32mm was uncommon but not impossible to find, look at wizard of oz, that’s 32mm in color.
