The 4th game is a 'final' game so it doesn't use the 'area to area' progression that much and is a much more open world. Cold Steel 1 uses a 'school' system for day to day story episodic progress, areas are locked based on your story progression. Cold Steel 2 treats the episode as different set of campaign where you have more freedom to go to more places, to complete multiple objectives in a bigger region of multiple areas (Ex: City A/B/C of any order for 1 chapter). So it will use the similar format for CS4, since CS3 was more of a school setting.

If NISA already started then they would probably announce it on january 2020 and release it by october 2020 or at the latest 1st quarter 2021. Nisa got trails of cold steel 3 and 4 as a package deal like xseed got 1 and 2 as a package deal so it will most likely be 9 month to a year are so for TOCS4 to come out at a guess
I just hated how much of a cliffhanger 3 had... I mean, other games have had HEAVY cliffhangers, like Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age 2, but those two at least seemed like they ended their own story, where CS3 just sorta stops right in the middle of an intense cutscene! There is no calming down of the story, no natural end point for any of the events explored in the game, only a full stop right when you least wanted it! I really regret that i didn't listen to my friend when he told me: "Don't expect any answers, only 100 more questions!", and just waited for the fourth game to release in the west so i could play them back to back!
Ah it's because CS3 was meant to be only one game. But middle development they noticed the game already had 100+ hours and they were only in the middle of it. Since it was taking too much time to develop the game and falcom needs money to continue the project they decided to cut in the middle and divide the game in two halves. That's why CS4 exists. Don't be mad it happens. There's a big chance that if they continues development without splitting into two they would be bankrupt. I'm as eager as you are to play the fourth game now. And there's still the crossbell arc to play either
Haha just finished CS3 myself about 4 hours ago at 5:50am after playing for about 12 hours straight. The ending feels like how i thought CS2 would've ended if they stopped right at the events at the end of Valflame Palace instead of having Rean go back to school at the end of the game.
@@ifrit1937 i mean the kiseki saga is basically cs1 develops the story and cs2 solves part of the questions developed on cs1 and cs3 basically the same as cs1 creating questions for cs4 to solve, that is how i see kiseki saga

Lol no need to worry on that front... Falcom stated recently that series is about 50-60% completed at the end of CS4... Which is pretty insane. Not to mention that they just started talking about making games on the side away from the main plot... The next game in the series is a Cold Steel side game and then I'm pretty sure Calvard has been confirmed for the next main title...

I am a fan of Rean x Fie....but nothing in 3 for them really, so pushed for my second choice Alisa, lol, still heartbroken at the ending of 3 with one of my favorite characters though :(

It's cause the opening is much more anime than the other ones. The other openings were art by the game artist with slight animation. This one is like a full blown anime opening and I imagine it's done by a different studio

CameLite he looks badass esp in this vid. But CS3 makes him look weak imo. Every time his party got pushed by the enemy, he would instantly thinking about calling valimar. Which also always got interrupted by old class 7 who one shot the enemy.
@@GUSRG I just felt like he over relying on valimar. I wish he won't be so fast on deciding to Valimar for every opportunity. Rean is strong. From the way story unfold he probably gonna be the 7th blade master. But like I said before, in every chapters, he would instantly decided to call valimar. Take magic knight for example. In CS2 magic knights are strong opponents, storewise. They did take out a couple of them in the shrines, but it was class 7 vs a single magic knight. In CS3 however, Alisa with Sharon help could one shot a magic knight. This shows that Alisa has gotten so much stronger. But what about Rean? He was like "This can't be help. Heed My call, Vali-"

He fought just slightly above his students level so they could actually learn in combat plus he was afraid of his powers going out of control... Every time you are able to use his powers in 3 you are supposed to assume it's because of Emma's pendant or Celine which gets even worse in 4 if the end of 3 isn't any indication...

The majority of Japanese titles always go to ps4 first. It actually makes sense since Sony is a Japanese company. It is also a good marketing strategy. Because this way people that own pc AND a ps4 will propably buy it on ps4 as well just to play the game earlier. And then rebuy on pc at a future date (not on release but maybe on sale)

Yeah, usually the canon partner of the protagonist is not that... for the lack of words, entertaining and captivating. I don't want to be unfair to Elie though, however she was really unlucky that Rixia and Noel became love interests of Lloyd in the second game.
I actually think this opening is a big step down from ToCS3's opening... Of course, I thought both of ToCS3's openings were some of the best of all time, so I guess that was inevitable.
Raging God mandalorian In my opinion the only somewhat disappointing thing is the animation. I know Falcom ain’t a company with the biggest budget but some of the parts of the animation do look a bit weird like some of the faces or the part of the end with like no animation. Dang... I finished it too fast lol. CS1 was originally just seeing if I would like the series, but I got invested after the prologue lol. So I bought 2 and 3 and now I have to wait for 4, AND FF7 remake got delayed a month. Guess I'll finally play God Of War lol.
Hopefully it's september or november 2020. Since CS2 was released 9 months after CS1 western release because Xseed got a package deal. I heard NISA got a package deal with CS3 and CS4 as well so we can be optimistic about it.
They generally don't seem to do announcements till they are well into the localization process. Considering the success of game sales to the western market in the last year I can see Falcom wanting NISA to get it done though. The west is a strongly growing market for their games lately.

I also count CS1 and CS2 as one game story-wise and the same can be said with CS3 and CS4. I believe falcom would not do us dirty by not releasing the 4th game soon. It's like releasing avengers infinity war then not releasing avengers endgame afterwards. Lol.

At the end of the game there is a picture of the one you chose to end up with and you get a call on your arcus so it changes depending on that buuuuut i am pretty sure Falcom will put an official one moving forward. Their latest official artwork he shows him with Alisa & Altina as their adopted one you could say but nothing completely confirmed until we go into the next game and see convos.

There will be a 'side story' game which probably links CS to the next arc in a simliar fashion to how Sky 3rd linked Sky to what came next but the main plot of Cold Steel is over in 4. There are more Trials arcs coming in the series. The next arc will apparently be focused on Calvard with obviously a new protagonist.
@@vincenthammons-kd9du It's the last of the Erebonia Arc. Liberl Arc is the Sora no kiseki series. Erebonia Arc is the Sen no kiseki series. Crossbell Arc is zero no kiseki and ao no kiseki. The entire time though, Calvard has been left in the shadows and ignored throughout the series, so most likely the Calvard Arc would involve a dynamic action RPG most likely (Eastern theme and combat).
Yes Trails of Cold Steel 4 is coming this year to the PS4 and next year on switch and PC. Trails of Cold Steel 1, and 2 is available on PS3, PS4, PC and vita. Trails of Cold Steel 3 is available on PS4, and don't know if is already out on PC and switch but it will be.

When you done the last Event with Alisa you know what you can say, so it must be real and not only a crazy scene.

The majority of Japanese titles always go to ps4 first. It actually makes sense since Sony is a Japanese company.
It is also a good marketing strategy. Because this way people that own pc AND a ps4 will propably buy it on ps4 as well just to play the game earlier. And then rebuy on pc at a future date (not on release but maybe on sale)
You could play previous arcs if you haven't while waiting. They'll keep you occupied.

Yeah, usually the canon partner of the protagonist is not that... for the lack of words, entertaining and captivating. I don't want to be unfair to Elie though, however she was really unlucky that Rixia and Noel became love interests of Lloyd in the second game.

Raging God mandalorian In my opinion the only somewhat disappointing thing is the animation. I know Falcom ain’t a company with the biggest budget but some of the parts of the animation do look a bit weird like some of the faces or the part of the end with like no animation. Even with that problem tho I do agree this is like the best op.

Dang... I finished it too fast lol. CS1 was originally just seeing if I would like the series, but I got invested after the prologue lol. So I bought 2 and 3 and now I have to wait for 4, AND FF7 remake got delayed a month. Guess I'll finally play God Of War lol.
cx21 you could always play Trails in the Sky while you wait as those games are important to Cold Steel 4, much moreso than 3

Hopefully it's september or november 2020. Since CS2 was released 9 months after CS1 western release because Xseed got a package deal. I heard NISA got a package deal with CS3 and CS4 as well so we can be optimistic about it.
They generally don't seem to do announcements till they are well into the localization process. Considering the success of game sales to the western market in the last year I can see Falcom wanting NISA to get it done though. The west is a strongly growing market for their games lately.
@@seyahtan24 CS2 has the smallest script size in the entire series though. And Xseed started work on CS2 before CS1 was even released.
@@ravus9935 Well, we can only hope it won't take too long. CS3 is gonna be ported to the switch so that means the series is getting really popular in the west. I also count CS1 and CS2 as one game story-wise and the same can be said with CS3 and CS4. I believe falcom would not do us dirty by not releasing the 4th game soon. It's like releasing avengers infinity war then not releasing avengers endgame afterwards. Lol.

At the end of the game there is a picture of the one you chose to end up with and you get a call on your arcus so it changes depending on that buuuuut i am pretty sure Falcom will put an official one moving forward.
Their latest official artwork he shows him with Alisa & Altina as their adopted one you could say but nothing completely confirmed until we go into the next game and see convos.

There will be a 'side story' game which probably links CS to the next arc in a simliar fashion to how Sky 3rd linked Sky to what came next but the main plot of Cold Steel is over in 4. There are more Trials arcs coming in the series. The next arc will apparently be focused on Calvard with obviously a new protagonist.

Yes Trails of Cold Steel 4 is coming this year to the PS4 and next year on switch and PC. Trails of Cold Steel 1, and 2 is available on PS3, PS4, PC and vita. Trails of Cold Steel 3 is available on PS4, and don't know if is already out on PC and switch but it will be.
You can play Cold steel 1 2 and 3 on ps4
