  • Reflect on how pharmacists have continued to be there for their communities during previous disasters and how they act as a community anchor and a healthcare profession you trust during crisis. Dr Kaitlyn Watson is an internationally recognised disaster pharmacist researcher and the Founder and CEO of Disaster Pharmacy Solutions which offers disaster preparedness and education to the pharmacy workforce. Kaitlyn currently works as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the EPICORE Centre, Department of Medicine at the University of Alberta focusing on pharmacy practice research. Dr Watson has previously been a consultant for the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe with a focus on public health emergency management and she is the co-chair of the World Association for Disaster and Emergency Medicine (WADEM) Primary Healthcare Special Interest Group. Dr Watson is an Australian registered pharmacist, living in North America. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
