The g80 has a straight 6 cylinder which differs from a traditional v6 where the cylinders are split between two parallel banks. 3 and 3 in the shape of a v. Where as a straight 6 are 6 cylinders in a single banked line.

Always wondered what the difference was between a M3 and let’s say a 335 or 340 both V6 but the Ms of course produce more power
@@kjbugz15 M3, 335, 340 all have inline 6 engines, I6 not V6. The difference is that the M engines are built much stronger for far more reliable power and with way better cooling for the track. Also, the S55 and S58 in the F80 and G80 M3's are twin turbo, the N55 and B58 in 335 and 340 are single turbo. There are a few more differences but I'm summarizing. The M's are completely different suspension, chassis wise etc too.
