- In this episode, Matt Cameron takes us on an East Tennessee black bear hunt with the English Mountain Bear and Boar Club in Cocke Co. Bear hunting with hounds is a time-honored tradition in the Southern Appalachians thanks to sound wildlife conservation and cooperation of the state’s bear hunters. We hope you this gives you a little insight into what bear hunting is all about and one day you get the opportunity to give it a try.
Very appreciative of this video. I’ve wondered for years how Tennessee bear hunters were successful and this was a great insight to that world. Thank you
Glad it was helpful! Happy hunting Doug.
Nothing like good bear hounds !! And good mountain folks .... enjoyed the video .. Youins keep the tradition going .... merry Christmas...
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Awesome video!
Enjoyed your video, thanks for sharing, keep looking up!
Thanks for watching!
Great Hunt!!
Good hounds! I love my Plott.
Plotts are definitely an awesome breed,... my grandfather and I raised and hunted Plotts in the 70’s and 80’s.
I would love to go on a hunt like this but as old and out of shape as I am y'all would have to use the winch to get me up the hills. Have a good one from West Tennessee
I'm moving from upstate NY to Tennessee.. wife, kids, dog all that.. this sorta' livin is exactly why I want to move there. As a yankee doodle dandie I know it wont be easy, but damn I can't wait. Thanks for great video.
Come on down! The bears are on the move.
Please stay in new york instead of turning tennessee into another overpriced shithole of america. you’re gonna turn it into exactly what you left
Your s good group of hunters this is coming from a dawg hunter i love to run hawgs
Where did you find that winch? Do we have any info on brand or where to find one....its slick!
Take a look at Portable WInch Company. That's the brand, no kidding!
@@tnwildlife that's awesome! I appreciate it and hope you have a great fall season!
What would happen if you cut the tree down with a chainsaw? Would that be a legal or moral kill?
What’s the country-like instrumental music you play at the beginning of the video? I want to listen to just this on my porch Sunday morning sipping tea :)
Bluegrass / blues. Using a resonator guitar, most folks call them a dobro. Dobro is actually a brand name of resonator guitar. Just like weed eater is a brand of string trimmer, but everyone call them weed eaters and dobros!
Beautiful land
What brand is that radio case you are wearing around your chest is ? Thanks
Randy says they wear the 3-point harness from Mitten Mountain Outfitters and that Holsterguy also sells them.
Thank you … tell Randy thanks as well ..
Where is this in East Tennessee?
It's on private land in Cocke County.
@@tnwildlife Not too far, sullivan.
Interested in “bogart plott hounds”? Is there a way I can get ahold of him? Like a website or anything.

Hi kzw52! We asked Lugnut about Bogard Plotts and he says they're just bred for their club. Thanks for checking and hopefully you can find some good Plotts to run.
That was just a baby bear
Yogi Bear must have hit the dislike button.
As a native east-tennesseean I wish we would outlaw this form of sport- this is the most cruel, pointless, and nasty video you guys have put out. Hope these old boys realize how revolting this is and find a new hobby
I disagree. Davy Crockett to the Cherokees; this is a traditional hunt, not a sport.
@bowtiepower4951 Davy Crockett hunted with a .70 cal musket and the Cherokee with bows and before that atlatls for food - not 20 GPS dogs putting the fear of God into a random bear for absolutley no good reason at all. No sport - no respect just moronic ignorance. Its embarrising thinking this is so great that they put the effort to shoot and then edit this video. Why hunt like this anyway- those guys all probably ate a 1200 calorie breakfast as Hardee's before they went to torture a bear.
@@farthing751 I'm not a big fan of dogs but it is still traditional. Gps just gives them better responsibility on their dogs.
@@bowtiepower4951 I respect your opinion I just feel disappointed we still do this
I think it's cruel mistreatment of the dogs myself I could care less about bears...
This is coming from a Dogo Owner..
I'm also a firm believer if you can't face that animal on its own turf as a hunter you don't deserve to eat its meat or wear its skin
If your dogs die hope you understand
