I have had a habit of overeating and I'm trying to control the amount of food intake. I don't know if it's because I'm used to the feeling of a stretched stomach after eating, I don't feel satisfied after having a controlled portion. I thought it was because I had stretched my stomach permanently and now I HAVE TO eat large portions or I won't feel full. How should I know I'm actually full and not over-stretched? Is it dependent on my habits?

Your stomach is a muscle and can be trained to eat more. When you do eat, we recommend eating protein first to fill up on that then vegetables then carbs. Hopefully this will help subside your urge to eat larger portions. Also, here is another video talking about stomach stretch: ruclips.net/video/4WTvuxt5OQc/видео.html

I know this is going to sound weird but I'm not sure if it was hormones but I did enjoy eating little bits of chocolate candy snack cakes and cakes well pass my surgery then allow a sudden the craving went away haven't had any for 9 years now I created a horrible habit of snacking but it watermelon including the seeds grapes apple slices/sauce scrambled eggs and cheese through breakfast lunch snack and dinner when it comes to eating a regular kids meal that I use to can eat now went back to how my pouch was at 1st I'm not sure why I'm craving the stuff listed but how can I eat a lot of that without being full but can't eat the kids meal baffles me

Can you stretch a bypass pouch by drinking to much water at once? Doesn’t it just pass to the intestine, since the pyloric valve isn’t there?

    • @LiveHealthyMD

No you can not stretch your pouch by drinking too much water. You are correct in that it does just pass to the intestines

No, carbonated beverages will only cause bloating which can be uncomfortable but it will not cause any long-term stretching of the pouch

Can the ability to stretch the stomach be reduced by reducing the food portions?

      @@LiveHealthyMD Thank you,
I wonder how reversible that is, I mean if it is possible to go back and forth between having an over-stretching stomach and an under-stretching one "just" by regulating the food portions over several months in order to accomplish that.
