I’ve done a few trips on my own and it was always nerve racking. Athens was one of them. I can’t wait to go back, but with my husband and son next time (that trip was pre-marriage and family life). It’s an amazing place with all the history! The islands are breathtaking!

you'll love it !! Parisians are STILL a bit "stand-off-ish" as everyone says. Plan to walk a lot. Do all the usual spots (Eiffel Tower, Louvre, boat on the Seine, Notre Dame . . . .) subway is FINE. A coffee (demi tasse) on the Champs Elysees cost $25-$30; * * * you are paying to sit where the Americans and Allies marched 1944 in to Liberate Paris from the Germans to end the Nazis in WWII so to me worth every cent. Turn your chair to face Arc D'Triomphe. Amazing moment for me.

I can't believe you don't have TSA Precheck or Global Entry. Global Entry saves time for international travel and is only $100 for 5 years. Precheck is $85 for 5 years so Global Entry is definitely worth it. Have a great time!!

We were in that seat on our flight back from Cambodia 22 years ago. We had just adopted a baby girl. There were 2 holes in the wall in front of us where you attach a baby bassinet. It was a life saver on such a long flight! Today our daughter is flying home by herself from Florida ❤
In NYC, at JFK, all International flights to Europe leave at night; between 8pm and midnight. Each time I have flown (one time each London, Paris, Rome) our plane was like 20th in line for take off on runway. Once we taxied away from gate was 30-90 minutes to wheels up !!!! You fly overnight and arrive next morning. Have I ever been able to sleep? NO !!!!! too excited. what I do is just "go with the flo" and go to bed night 1 in Europe at 10pm. It's called "being a mom of of a newborn thru 3 months" how you realize you can stay up for long periods of time. Your row near the bathroom is horrible; do not rec.; the smell and passengers standing next to you for 14 hours.

A350s are not super comfortable in the main cabin. Athens is easy airport to navigate and the city is easy to manage.
