Hey everyone! Just a reminder that we are doing a charity drive towards rehabilitating victims of child sex trafficking. Lee is going to a HEMA event held by Richard Marsden and John Patterson of the Phoenix Society, and is attempting to raise funds for the charity. If you would like to help donate, you can go here - www.gofundme.com/lee-smiths-attempt-to-win-at-giving Or if you'd like more information about what we're doing, check out our video on the subject - ruclips.net/video/Ch11v50af64/видео.html Thank you! Any amount helps :)
Excellent review, Lee and Nicole. I've been a student of the tomahawk myself for almost 3 years, and I agree this book is an invaluable resource for virtually any single hand weapon art. I'll keep trainaing with Steve Huff, fighting Robin every chance I get, and praying for a knife n' hawk tournament.
If you like his work, you're going to LOVE James Keating's work. I highly recommend you look at him and his student Pete Kautz. Both have material on the Bowie knife, and I know Keating has a couple of sources on the tomahawk as well.
I have a few questions: 1) Are this techniques useful against opponent with shield or they were build against opponent only with single handed\two handed(spear) weapon in mind? 2) If it's possible could we see some of this techniques with axe on this channel in motion? Big thanks in advance, I did appreciate technique with Halberd I found on this channel, so I was hoping to see something similar but with axes.
there are a few polearm and two handed axe stuff out there which is about as you are going to get, espcially with the sparth axe stuff which is a decendant of the dane axe.
Weedus I think it depends on how you use the tomahawk. Because you can hook limbs and control them. And then once you move them to where you have a weak spot, you can swing with a very effective chop. I would pick a tomahawk over a knife, also because of its reach. But im no expert
Axe Brah all depends on the warrior themselves. The Stamford Bridge Berserker clearly knew how to use an axe properly, but obviously not many are that skilled
rataca100 this is something we waned to cover before but it wasn't readily available so we didn't want to recommend something you can't get. Then there were words of a new print, so here we go.

Thank for the video guys, love the content you have been putting out!

1917cutlass We'll check it out, thanks for the recommendation
His DVD is good as well
I knew him when he was CPT. McLemore in Germany...
Do you guys have a playlist of book reviews?
Kuroyami0Fukaikuro not yet, one can be set up later tonight though.
Quick video on axe fighting when? :p. (Will check for one )
So 4 years passed away did you found who took the volume 1 book?
neat, im going to have to pick up a copy or something.
Hello, great video. Just wanted to ask if this Volume II also contains everything that is in book I, or do I need to purchase Volume I too. Thanks
I second this question.
Do you need to have read Volume 1 to get anything out of Volume 2?
I have a few questions:
1) Are this techniques useful against opponent with shield or they were build against opponent only with single handed\two handed(spear) weapon in mind?

If you could only own 1, would you want volume 1 or 2?
Any manuals on fighting with the DANE AXE?
Valera Valerovich nope.
But there is a Chinese manual for using a two handed axe, you can find it on Chinese longsword. Com but the problem is that the traduction is not free
Swing it very hard
There’s an excellent manual out there called “Axes are bad and if you think they’re not bad you’ve been watching too much Vikings”

You could actually mention that the amazon is a ref link. Just cuz i'd think that more people would be buying stuff through it if they knew it.
Do you need the first book to understand the second?
You mean... 4 thumbs up?
Dwight passed away.
Ax fighting is almost entirely a lost art judging from the lack of material out there.
Yes, but it's not an art that can't be reinvented.

Then there were words of a new print, so here we go.
Unfortunately the publisher is out of business
Nes
Oh boy, somone got their book...I almost feel sorry for them, but you don't just steal people's books these days. THEY ARE A DYING BREED!
I like the content your group is putting out but, the public displays of affection are unneeded. Please keep it professional. Thanks!
