Awesome, this sounds like a genuine demo!!! So many ppl will find - or create - an alternate version, upload it to RUclips and call it a “demo” when it’s not 😡 I don’t know why ppl can’t just be honest
This is most likely the real thing... she even sings the chorus the way she did at Live Aid (the slight variation in the melody on the words “take a stand” and “hear the sound.” That minor change makes the final version so much better!

I reacted impulsively to her photo that I associated with her punk/hard rock early years, without doing enough research-yes, the song is from her 1986 True Blue album; and the image as you said is from her 1987 film Who’s That Girl era-then she is indeed already a pop music superstar.
Actually, the photos date from december 1985, they're outtakes from the INTERVIEW MAGAZINE photoshoot by Herb Ritts. 😉

I always imagined her in 1985 with the BoyToy, Desperately Seeking Susan and the Virgin Tour image-not the short haired, black fingerless gloves, doc martens boots-punk look. This is the beauty of your channel devoted solely to M, where her community of fans share their comments and learn from each other.
This is a forgotten song;, what I like the most her way of singing is similar to LAV period, Her vibratos and tone changes are one of a kind.
This was written on the road during the Virgin Tour. The demo was probably recorded then too.

I believe this was recorded in May 1985 with Nile Rogers producing. She talked about it in Time Magazine that month.

Assuming the make-up artist was Debi Mazar. A lot of celebrities wore it too and fast forward to the digital era, it just doesn't look as good.

Live Aid 1985 was her very first official live performance ever. After the live aid she went touring in the USA only with The Virgin Tour show
