You are blessed. I am not close to my MIL, we are very different people. The day after my husband and I announced our engagement my MIL cornered me and said "You didn't give him an ultimatum did you!??" That's when I shut down from the emotions I was so eagerly waiting to have with her. I hoped we'd be very close but she immediately compared me to the ex-wife.

I didn't grow up with supportive parents. I had a lot of mental health issues that went untreated, including, as it turns out, being on the autism spectrum. I was depressed, anxious, and lonely. I met my husband in high school, and I was blown away by his family and their love for one another. They didn't fight or insult each other, they supported and encouraged each other. It was such a foreign concept that it took me a while to trust it, but when I think of people who live the way Christ talked about, with unconditional love, I think of them. My in-laws are two of he most solid people I know, they always have our back no matter what. They may not agree with everything we do but we know they are there to support us. When our daughter was born, I struggled a lot, I couldn't have made it through without them. When my daughter was also diagnosed with autism, they could have turned and ran but they didn't. They love her for exactly who she is, and are her biggest cheerleaders. I could not ask for better inlaws, I have been richly blessed. They raised up a great man, and we have a beautiful life. It's not perfect but it's healed the trauma that was part of my life for so long.

What a beautiful in-laws. May God bless you and your family! God knew what you needed so HE bought them into your life. I’m sure you gave them what they needed too to love and embrace you!

I pray that I will have the privilege of finding a man with the same kind of mother💕 It is a beautiful thing to know that I can be/am lovable and accepted even with all of my "baggage".

It is definitely not our place to judge but to love and forgive, forgive, forgive, “70x7, because He requires mercy, not sacrifice,” so important Jesus quotes Hosea twice and who does He tell? The judgy, self righteous, Pharisees getting onto Him for deigning to hang out with tax collectors and hookers. Yeah…Jesus just ran around judging everyone (super heavy sarcasm). I’m for your message 100% and I believe it embodies the greatest commandment of “Loving God and neighbor.” Good job 👏

Jesus did a lot of judging. Otherwise, him walking the earth would have been pointless.
It is awesome you have a great mother in law though.
    ❤🎉

He didn't judge the same people most Christians judge nowadays
