As excellent as the Absolute beginer lessons series. There must be something interesting in the way you teach that other channels don't have but I couldn't tell you exactly what it is. Anyway You have got that thing that makes your channel better. I only watched the Absolute beginer series so far and I am glad to see that the rest is as good. It means it wasn't just luck. You definitely teach verry well. I am improving my Japanese and that is partly thanks to your work. Keep it up! :D

    • @alix4644

FiveADay Kanji I use your chanel for the kanji learning so I couldn't judge others but when it comes to grammar I have nothing to add from what is written above. The absolute beginer series fits exactly to me. These are perfect lessons (organised, starts from A to..., easy to understand, the vocabulary she teaches is so usefull and linked to the vocabulary from previous lessons,... But to be honest, the thing I like most is that she is a native speaker that you know you can rely on: she teaches you the grammar differently from books or University teachers tanks to that. I got used to learning partly with her, with your Chanel and with another French speaking chanel that fits also perfectly to me.
I only watched her Beginer series and a couple other videos of her content that are also great but to which I could't stick ( I couldn't tell you why... Even if her kanji videos are also great, I think the way you intriduce them is definitely better ) I also think that I should stick to your Chanel for kanji because it is more complete and the tips you are giving are so useful! Each chanel that I have chosen for my learning is better at some point than the others. At the begening I tried every chanel than I had to choose ( I found yours later on ^-^) and now I got used to these 3 one only :/. But that is a good thing!
These days (since september) I couldn't continue studying both Japanese and my University lessons but I ll go on with my japanese in december.
So there is no real reason why I have only 3 favourit japanese chanels exept that I got used to them so hard that now I can't bear using another content. I have never said I liked Misa's Kanji content better than yours if that is what you thought. XD Actualy when I wrote the previous comment I thought I was going to use both her Kanji content and yours but I changed my mind few days later.

    • @alix4644
      @alix4644 8 лет назад +3

FiveADay Kanji If you want to know that you should ask in every comment of your videos. "Hope you liked it, please let me know how I could imrpove my content down below." :) I personaly like your videos because it is quick and there is a tip that helps me to study. Now a good way to improve your content would be to regroup some kanji in one video. Kanji that are linked together for exemple, kanji that are gathered in a topic video. You could also make them more alive by adding voices, oral explaination instead of a texts (because some people revise better when they are told things). I definitely think that you would touch a wider public by making your content more "alive". Maybe some people don't like the studying atmosphere that is set in your videos. That is personaly what I like most but I could understand that some people who come on YT to study prefer a funnier content so that they forget that they are studying. The closer you are from your public, the wider it will be. Now I know it requiers lots of work to get to it but it would definitly make your chanel grow. I am not saying that your videos don't requier lots of work, this would be fals as you are uploading a lot and you probably have the most complete kanji content on YT. The problem is that you found a really good way to present kanji (short videos, good tips, kanji presented one by one) That is really good! But as I can see you are looking for any betterment that would help you fit a greater demand. It is hard for me to tell you what to change because it already fits me but I understand your frustration. You could also try to think as someone that is looking for a funny way to learn and your tips are often funny so you could make them more important in your videos. Maybe funny is not the word but I think the tips of your videos are at this point what make your videos alive. Finaly you should try to see what's positive in Misa or any other japanese chanel's video because as I told you in my previous comment, I think every chanel as something special that makes it different or better than the other at some point. You can't copy them but try to make your videos richer tanks to these little things that you find in other contents and that could inspire you.
To recap, for me, improving your content would be making your videos more alive, grouping kanji in topics videos to help you reach that goal and try to keep a short format (maybe two or three times longer wouldn't make it "long" or borring) and keep the great tips that you give or try to make them the most important part of your videos because for me it is the heart of your content. Also try to look at other contents, how they manage to be attractive, alive, different from others,... and addapt it to your kanji videos.
So there it is. I hope this helps you at least a little bit but do not forget to ask your community how to improve thanks to the comment section. This would give you a better idea of what is to change and what is good to keep.

@@mika4444 Hello. Saw your comment so throught to put some pointers. It's just something I am following
      1. Learn hiragana and katakana. It's required as it's the base and most of the reading materials will have furigana (hiragana for kanji ) which will help you to read it if you don't knw the kanji yet. Believe me it takes less time to memorize it.
      2. Since , it's difficult for us to practice conversation.
I don't have any japanese frnds. So, it's definitely difficult. We have to find alternative. Write journals. Like simply what you did today . What you like n dislike anything.
      3. Read . A lot . It's tedious in the beginning but it will help to get the flow and more vocabulary.
      4. Go through grammar. I feel it's important because if you say smthn else . It kind of changes the meaning of sentence. Go about it slowly. Just like we learnt in English ( we had so much grammar right)
      5. Kanji - the dread 😅 . I mostly learn it by stories. I read novels. In general I remember stories better. So I make up a story for a kanji. When I encounter a kanji, I remember it by forming a stories with each elements in it.
      6. Listen songs. It will be difficult at first if the songs are fast. I mostly listen soothing anime songs like omoide poro poro, or howls moving castle. Sometimes I find some words I dnt knw. After searching I get the meaning. So I can get the context.
      7. Make your notes obviously. Go through them. Form your own sentences with new words you learnt.
      8. Don't feel demotivated . It takes time to learn something new. Enjoy while learning. Watch animes, movies anything which you like related to Japan.
These are some of the things I follow.
      All the best :)

Oh no I am not that fluent. I find it hard sometimes to understand when it's fast. Can't make out the words.

I’m so glad to FINALLY have an explanation for the kunyomi/onyomi! I’ve been blindly trying to memorize Kanji recently and I’ve been scared to do it for so long because of kanji having multiple meanings. This was easier than I thought, especially when furigana will be common once I can read children’s books/basic manga. I will concentrate on the meanings now, but having your readings as examples was really nice. Ah yeah, and I made it to the end, it was a very good length. :)

The thing about YT videos I like (for me at least I guess) is that once I start one, even if only out of curiosity, I tend to watch the whole thing. Now, there are various projects and plans I have to learn Nihongo, but it is a quality of a procrastinator like me to delay or avoid starting anything on any given day. But watching RUclips videos is PART of the procrastination process, and watching Misa's videos is like a whole day's worth of Japanese instruction!

For example, the on-yomi of husband is 'hu', however when put into 'daijyoubu', it is said as 'bu'. Also, when 'jin' is changed into 'nin' when put into words such as 'ningen'. This has been of some difficulty lately, and I would be glad to know the reasoning behind this change in pronunciation. Thank you very much!
