Guys, please do not spoil episodes 4, 5, and 6 in the comments. I read all of them and WILL delete any spoilers I see. Hope you understand, don’t want to ruin it for the rest who didn’t see spoilers! 👍
@@jerrystakesI loved the episode, these episodes have been pretty damn good, your takes I haven’t been enjoying sorry but I have been watching others because they’ve at least have enjoying takes and opinions. No hate but yeah
@@jerrystakes what I really don’t like is comparing it too fear, it’s not on any level of fear, okay those writers didn’t give a rats ass about the characters only for ratings nothing more than that. Nothing made sense etc for the story or for what the characters are doing. Daryl Dixon has not felt like FearTWD by any means with any of these episodes, I’m sorry but it doesn’t, you’re clearly seeing it in a way different view and way than everyone else is, some do see it your way but I see more positive than negative.
It's hard to believe they did not change the showrunner for this season because there's no way this is the same creative team that gave us the first season. Daryl Dixon season 1 was probably my favorite TWDU content in years and seeing the show take such a drastic turn in terms of quality is so heartbreaking. What happened to the characters this season? Why is Laurent, Isa, Sylvie and Genet acting like charicatures of their original characters? And the fact they're doing this to recycle the same old Carol and Daryl narratives we saw for 11 seasons is INSANE to me. This is literally FTWD s4 all over again.
Yes exacly! daryl and carol are terminators. and anyone else is just story fodder. im affraid this very much is ftwd season 4. imo they need to keep it simple if these braincracks happen so often.
@@tristanversteeg5738 Exactly! They spent the 6 episodes of season 1 to develop a good and intriguing storyline just to finish that in the most mediocre way possible.
Totally disagree here. The first season to me was INCREDIBLY boring it only had a few good parts to me. This is so much better thus far. I don't see much problem yet. To compare this to ftwd season 4 is CRAZY.
When I go back to ‘Days Gone Bye’ and then I watch the series now, the ONLY spinoff that comes CLOSE to that Apocalyptic vibe is The 1st and 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th season of the main show, the 1st 3 seasons of FTWD, and season 1 of Dead City. Like you said man, TWD feels too much like SIFI and too unrealistic. It’s honestly so sad to see where this franchise is going. It started going downhill after Ian and Andrew started writing FTWD.
True, absolutely with the original series the Fear first 3 seasons and I have to say I liked Dead City Season 1. Better than TOWL and THIS... what are the writers doing her to poor Daryl and Carol? It's like lazy and that they don't even care to keep us watching.
@@nicoleme1457 Frank darabont was recently given the opportunity to write Stranger Things season 5, and he took it. He said something that perfectly sums it up: modern writing. Modern writing is horrible, I have no idea what it is. I don’t know if it’s some kind of agenda going on in the writing or what, but it’s absolutely horrible and sad.
@@OwenC08 He's absolutely right. Speaking as a person who lives with my daughter who is an English language & linguistic Masters, writing, story telling, structure, composition and energy are all mainly missing from todays modern tv writers.
Crazy how you named off all my favorite seasons of the walking dead. Alot of people hate S7 and 8 but I still enjoyed it as it felt like the end of the original feel of the show before it turned into a marvel show where our main characters are super heroes.
It really doesn't though. How does her boyfriends death have anything to do with anything, other than making her like everyone else, other than she decided to go crazy and become genocidal?
I wish Genet backstory was something related to a lab operative like the umbrella corporation and trying to tie up that french situation where they introduced the teams that came up with the virus.
I agree, I was looking forward to her backstory cuz I thought it was going to relate to the virus or the experiments the French were doing. Same thing you were expecting lol
@@PrapalyFree They have good ideas and concept.... but seem to have the script writing off to toddlers. But if you're still watching The Walking Dead it's not for the writing. Greg Nicotero is here still making cool zombies. He's still finding new little things to do with them
@@The_Knight_Mayor like I get that but I can’t let it go. Every show should have good writing. This isn’t a comedy or a sitcom. It’s a world built off years. I get it, twd isn’t what it used to be so why do I get my hopes up? Because I’m a fan who favorite type of genre or movies are zombies. I grew up loving zombie stuff and this season 1 was amazing. The zombies were awesome though. Those “Greenland” zombies were so badass and he just knows how to make them visually appealing
Now that you mention it. S4 the flu, s5 the hospital, s7 the garbage people s8 the random old lady who talked to maggie youre right gimple doesnt do well in originality
Honestly, Gimple wrote the best episodes of the series. In my opinion and literally. Most of the highest rated episodes are the ones he wrote. 18 miles out, clear, The grove, A, no sanctuary, last day on earth, and multiple others. People hate on Gimple, but he’s a really good writer.
@@BoogSReviewsmaybe individual episodes but not overarching storylines or seasons and season structure/pace. Also most if and all the episodes you mentioned had many other writers on them. Once gimple became showrunner TWD went downhill
Like cmon bro. Sylvie?!?!? I was so fucking angry this morning. It was not worth the parallel to Sasha and if it wasn’t on purpose, why kill another wonderful black woman with so much potential that way? Laurant was high out of his mind and didn’t even react. I wish she took out that co leading lady before she went out. Something more. Anything. She wasn’t even a martyr, because she did NOT DO IT ON PURPOSE.
Why was she even frantically looking for Laurent like he just went missing? Didnt the last episode end with her finding Laurent in a room with Lusang??
I actually liked this episode, especially compared to the first 2 episodes. I did find Genets backstory to be VERY underwhelming though. I thought it would have something to do with primrose/ experiments.
I didnt have issues with episodes specifically.. I had an issue with the entire season.. • The wtiting is crap • Characters are psychic and know when another character has a secret to say • Characters are psychic and know where our main characters are hiding at all times • The villains keep dying because theyre so fixated on getting Laurant.. • The entirety of France seems like a small town.. • In this country sized small town, characters are in 1 of 4 places, The Nest, Genet's compound, the rooftop hideout or the stripper club.. Thats it.. • Carol is an idiot.. • Carol finds exactly where to go and finds the exact people she needs to find depsite being in an entire country.. • Carol's dumbass jumps out of the plane to shoot 2 guys in a car when she could have just opened the plane door, stuck her body out abit, and shot them without jumping out.. • Carol jumps out the plane without us ever seeing her tell the pilot(Ash) where Alexandria is located in the first place, since her and Daryl stayed behind, that pilot will not be able to relocate Laurant to Alexandria since theyre both not there to tell him where to go.. • Many many needless deaths. (Isabelle, Sylvie, every villain.) • Ash's whininess when Carol comes clean. • The long and drawn out final episode that just sets up for another season. • Daryl and Carols plot armor, at least get hurt a little bit? • Conversations lingering on a topic too much, yes we know you want to say something specific, just say it already.. • Vilalins all die because they never know when to cut their losses. • The main villains motivation, Madame Genet - What motivation? Losang- Religious cult fanatic which plan makes no sense Jacinta - Continues chasing Laurant after Losang dies despite her not having the same leadership skills and ability to bring a group together with the charisma Losang has.. Continues chasing Laurant after getting bitten.. Sabine - After Losang and Jacinta dies, this lame non imposing head soldier takes over and continues hunting the main group down, spoiler they mostly all die. Super easy, barely an inconvenience.
I always find it laughable when shows make the character have bangs to show they were younger, instead of hiring a younger actor. Like some bangs ain’t gonna cut you 15 years off 😆
I honestly don’t see the problem in humanizing a villain like Genet as long as they don’t try to full on redeem them. I think they were more so just trying to show us her perspective and where she’s coming from to why she’s doing what she’s doing now and her motivations which I don’t mind since I hate whenever TWD has a villain who is completely one note and evil for the sake of it. Sylvie’s death on the other hand was a very silly move, it kinda just happened randomly and although she wasn’t super developed last season I was expecting a lot more to come from her- very disappointed with how they handled her character this season. I just didn’t see the purpose. It didn’t even really affect Laurent or Isabelle it’s quickly moved on from.
Anyone knows where I can I find the continuation and or ending of the original TWD? They lost me a few years ago and it's been all over the place since. What happened to Princess etc..i know ppl I've been out da loop
I really liked this episode..im really enjoying this spinoff ( dead city too)..i just hope Carol finds Daryl soon and says-"hi pookie"..lol..if you know, you know. I only got heated when Sylvie died and Carol's " friend turned on her. I'm looking forward to more😊
The parts filmed in the courtyard leading up to the Laurent ritual reminded me of a kid's BBC drama from the 70s - I thought the set decoration and direction was very, very poor.
Your rant about how zombies wouldn't even have anything left on them to even walk around with has always been my biggest question. Like in a game or show we'll see a character fall into a horde of zombies then later on we'll see them as a zombie with barely a scratch on them. Like nah there wouldn't anything left of them
6:30 yeah that part was so poor. the writers litteraly didnt think about the fact that Laurent should start SCREAMING and not cooperate once he sees her as a walker killed by the damn cult guy! but i geuss laurent was tripping his balls off so hard by the drugs they gave him he didnt even see anything and didnt know what was even happening or something?
i liked this episode were back to were you know that its gonna end in a cliff hanger and when it happens you are so hyped for the next episode. im always gonna watch your vids jerry even if your not that into the show, appreciate your honest take tho. 7 out 0f 10
I agreed with your review of the first two episodes, but I gotta say, I enjoyed this one(granted, you have to turn your brain off, but I was entertained start to finish). As far as humanizing the antagonists, I like when they do that. It fleshes them out and gives you insight into their mind and why they do the things they do. Did we need one for Genet? Probably not, but I didnt hate it.
First time seeing your channel and dying laughing over here. “Looks like she’s running through winterfell!” You do remember that peak TWD and GOT took shots at each other. It does feel like they took from Winterfell….
Carl was the worst character in the whole show and I’m tired of pretending he wasn’t. When he was on the show, the comments were all negative towards him and wanted him written off. The show got better and opened up so many cool stories with him gone. And that’s coming from a TWD comic reader.
To each their own, I honestly loved Episode 3 but thought episode 4 was awful. But that's why there is different flavors of ice cream. 3 was great, 4 was fear garbage, 5 was awesome, 6 was amazing until the last 10miutes then it just stops making sense.
The Genet backstory was all of five minutes, nothing like the entire episodes TWD used to do. Perspective man. I also think you can provide backstory without necessarily humanising them. I mean the number one show on tv at the moment is an entire series ‘humanising’ a villain. Also what’s the issue with the setting?, it’s a real place (I’ve been there multiple times) and they used it really well in the story as opposed to using CGI. It’s possibly the single best strategic location used in TWD universe period. One of the reasons for setting the show abroad is to depict our characters against a backdrop of another culture and that includes its buildings. I’m sure you’d be loving a bunch of green screen would you?. The ‘one take’ scene of Daryl fighting in a confined location was really skilfully done and deserves credit even if you didn’t like the aesthetic. Finally they used Sylvie as she was a readily available walker rather than having to take bigger risks transporting one to The Nest. It would have been stupid them NOT using her. I could go on but sorry man I cannot get on board with your takes this week, and take a chill pill ffs.
That ain't saying much 😂. Are you including Fear TWD and World Beyond in that too, or just Daryl Dixon, Dead City and TOWL, because that's only 21 episodes 😂
I don’t like how they turned twd into like stupid B level action movie quality. Rushed, silly writing, unbelievable scenarios. The same things over and over with lame enemies that could have been cooler with better writing. Daryl became john wick in this episode. It’s just sad to see what it’s become. Especially bc they had a perf plot for this spin off on a silver platter from the world beyond post credit scene: variant walkers. But nope. Completely abandoned that, now they are man made apparently. Had to make it cheesy and have a kid nobody cares ab drive the story just like Ftwd s8. Ridiculous and lazy
thank you sm omg. I couldn't stand this episode. I am livid they way they killed sylvie. she was a great character, she could've at least gone out saving laurent instead of a cringe cartoon death. and we don’t even get to see his or izzys reaction??? that was their sister? have izzy collapse in tears or something? we also don't see her try to fight her way out, they just captured her. (i thought her scene w daryl was cute tho, i like them together) carol also has done nothing to impress genet this much?? it just felt cheap and convenient. I'm so sad they've ruined this show when s1 was great. every decision feels like a cheap excuse to wrap up the french storyline so it'll just be daryl and carol. I'm still so mad and disappointed. looking forward to your next video.
I think it goes back to your point about how the ones who live ending really sucked my enjoyment right out of any future content. I thought I was getting a bigger connected universe and I didn’t get anywhere close to that.
To be honest man, I know you took it a little bit easier in your next video after everyone criticized you for being too negative. I don’t think you’re being too negative. I just think you’re telling the complete truth. The Walking Dead is filled with terrible writers cringe moments that feel like it should be in the CW. We are just frustrated that the show and characters that we once loved are being ruined by whatever the hell is going on right now.
Just think if they kept Rick Grimes happy he would have been there along with Carl for the whisperers and beyond. It would have been amazing and a great close to TWD They waited too long to put a new show runner in place and Andrew was done with Gimples show running. My opinion is Andrew saying he wanted to spend more time with his kids was just an exit strategy. Gimple fumbled the bag with Rick and Negan’s all out war. It just stretched and got cheesy in the end.
I always watch the alt TWD series but they are very predictable. Even from the camera angles before something happens you can figure out what’s coming. It’s a little cheesy but still love TWD
they were able to shoot at the louvre was the highlight. Real Mona Lisa is now in TWD Universe! Are you watching the "bonus sh*t" at the end of the episodes?
This episode felt me feeling like I needed a shower. It was so, so, so, stupid! The actors did their best, but there's no way to make a script this terrible work. I didn't think the writing could get worse than in the first 2 episodes, but Chat GPT or whoever or whatever is churning out the awful scripts this season found a way. It's pathetic and appalling how fast this show has gone downhill.
Im still trying to wrap my head around this whole series of Daryl's spinoff....its so unrealistic. And they still didn't explain how that Ganat woman got the idea to make these fast super variants..... They should have waited for Melissa McBride's availability and had them go to a French community in Canada....this whole TLUO vibes is becoming annoying with Laurent. The writing and that show runner stinks. Im getting FearTWD vibes with Ian and Andrew 🤦🤦🤦. It appears Isabellecwas bit on her cheek??? Isabelle will probably die in episode 4 or 5..... she's #3 blonde and we know what happened to Beth and Keah 🤣😂🤣😂 abd Daryl sealed that with a kiss of death in episode 2 👍🤣
The Monsieur Daryl show is not good. They teased us rogue scientists and mutant walkers in TWB and gave use kooky cults, Neo The One, a France where French seems to be a second language and Tarte Fine Aux Pommes. Last night when the banners unfolded, I turned to my wife and said, of all the stories they could tell, this is what they came up with? Then, I fell fast asleep.
I appreciate your honesty and criticism. The writing of TWD is just straight up trash nowadays. I still care about the characters but you have to put aside all of the stupidity.
Also episode wasnt terrible! There is definitely parts that don't contribute to the overall story, but I think we need to keep in mind that hopefully all this mumbo jumbo will bring us back to the OG for one final badass show 🤞
He is just stating his opinion and what he found wrong with the episode. Stop getting mad at other people for expressing their opinions. This is natural and even the best masterpieces aren’t without flaws.
HOW did daryl kill those 30-40 guys in melee combat? oh yeah thats right they went face first into daryls weapon. daryl is OP but cmon how can he slaughter 30+ men...
I haven't been enjoying it as well, it felt like they were giving Daryl weird meaningless missions to "safe" people. Like saving the old man, he's as badass as Rick why does he need to be saved? It was bad as Dead City, so far it has so much plot holes and disconnected from the original show.
@@jerrystakes although I gotta say I do sorta agree with your sci-fi take. I mean I’ve always liked this aspect of the walking dead but I think their should be balance of survival horror and the sci-fi stuff.
What I dont like is that in one scene during this season Carol gets shot with one of the dart guns and just shrugs it off.... For those who watched it well.. yknow what happens when she shoots someone with it.
she took it out before the serum was injected. theres a buffer between when the needle enters the skin and the serum actually being injected into it and she took it out before that could happen
@@jyroux6383 yup, that's exactly what happened but it's still stupid. Tranquilizer darts don't "wait" before injecting the serum. She also waited for about 3(I think) seconds before taking out the dart. She also should have been already dead because she was shot at by a Maxim machine gun. And somehow she was the only one to survive out of all those people. She also should have been shot after she got up. She also should have been shot while driving the unarmored car through the streets. But, you know, plot armour. "Goofy" barely begins to describe this season. People saying its good are either nostalgic, ignorant, or just forgot what a good TV show is. I would make a joke about this cinematic universe beeing dead and just keeping on going, but it's so overdone (and for good reason) that it's just sad at this point.
I agree with many of the criticisms. But most shows in history have never lived up to the sorts of standards you are setting, and certainly these days the standards are very low. If anything, I feel like the pacing is too fast, and the spin-offs seem disconnected. I think giving the villains a backstory works really well in The walking Dead, That's just sort of the formula and has been for several years now.
I'm enjoying it as I can turn my mind off for 40 minutes, but like there's no way Daryl (and carol) is killing all those people and being a badass. It was dumb in season 7 and 8 and it's dumb now
Realistically this is how I feel. I enjoy watching it for sure, there’s no doubt about that, I just find the writing so goofy it’s hard for me to say it’s quality like how TWD used to be
Bro just hates daryl and carol lol, the show is the best spinoff so far, but hey we get it u dont like daryl and carol, there something wrong with ya i guess😂
@@jerrystakes not trying be rude to u or anything, i mean we all have our opinions, i accept yours, yes i might sound pretty fucking rude about it, sorry, but idk personally i like s2
I'm fine with Madame having a backstory, but if you're gonna show it, show her backstory with the scientists! Give some actual relevant scenes that add more depth and exploration of the storyline and themes! Give us more of what we actually wanted to see. Her flashback added NOTHING! So she was a janitor at the Louvre (seriously, the pyramid thing? 😂) and idk what they were talking about tbh I didn't have subtitles, but presumably something about art and culture, and there's supposed to be some kind of symbolism with the Mona Lisa, and her boyfriend dying in front of her, like... WHO CARES?! SO MANY PEOPLE in this universe have lost loved ones, it offers nothing unique to her character and doesn't explain her motivations any more than we already knew about her? How and why did she form her fascist militia? Why did she start having these scientists do experiments on walkers? What is she actually hoping to achieve with them? She's just another generic villain that wants to do evil things for evil reasons, like every villain in TWD for the most parts she's just insane and there's no rhyme or reason to her actions, she just wants power, which is one reason I loved Beale and hated his death is that he actually felt intelligent and calculated, there was method to his madness and his motivations were understandable if also insane. There was so much more they could've done with her backstory and her character overall, I liked the conversations she had with Carol, but a lot of it was the same philosophical bullshit dialogue we always get, I hate how so much of the story and motivations of the characters in this show are founded in hope and faith, it's really corny, instead of focusing on the actual story fans want
Thank you for making me expect the worst for this episode. It made me end up enjoying it a fair bit. I still think episode 1 was the worst of the season and show so far
I got to binge the rest of the season early yesterday and I got to admit that the season was mostly underwhelming with dumbfounded, stupid writing and felt mostly rushed. I enjoyed moments of the latter three episodes but I felt mostly unsatisfied.

Unfortunately I have not actually seen these episodes. I saw all of season 1 however I thought the last episode was rushed. I have to say though that all the content I have seen doesn’t feel like Daryl and Carol anymore. I’m starting to feel uninterested in the whole thing. Unfortunately after watching The Ones Who Live I started to have a really bad feeling about the second season of Daryl. Daryl is my absolute favorite character of the Walking Dead And I don’t feel like it’s the same Daryl anymore. No offense but how can somebody change so much in a short period of time. Don’t get me wrong I love the French characters but it just is to easy for them to get him to trust them even when some lie a lot. It makes no sense. And what happened to Isabel her character has changed drastically. I liked her in the first season but not so much now. But about Daryl’s fight no offense but I buy that well before I buy that Rick and Michonne destroyed an entire army alone. What have they done to this franchise? I hate this feeling because I love The Walking Dead so much but what the hell is happening. It’s worse than I ever thought it would be even with Gimple. I Never liked Dead City and The Ones Who Lived I couldn’t stand either but at least I thought I had Daryl’s to enjoy. However with all this content I don’t actually want to see it. I’m afraid I would grow to hate Daryl who is the only reason I watched most of the seasons of The Walking Dead. I really don’t want to loose that.
I'm completely convinced that you just don't like TWD. I almost subscribed to your channel because I like your manner of speaking (granted, I only know you from TOWL). I like how nice and animated you are. But each time I check a review of yours, it's just a list of all that is wrong, with almost zero positive.
@@jerrystakes Agreed. I am judging on very little content. Ok, I'll go check out the others. I'm still hoping I can look forward to at least some of your current reviews, though.
@@RB-xr6mi Although I do have some criticism of my own in these shows (never watched Fear), I can't relate to THAT much negativity, and then still coming back for more. There seems to be a love-hate thing going on there. I do like @jerrystakes 's personality, and that's what drew me to his reviews. To each their own, though. I've seen plenty of reviewers who, like me, love this spinoff and especially episode 3. Not everyone connects to a show the same way. I have been humbled. It's all good!
We get the episodes a week late here in the UK. Just saw episode 2 and my god, can’t believe how bad it was. After this and the awful way they ruined Rick’s story, I think I’m done with this franchise. The Greenland shit was one of the worst things I’ve seen in years. I’m genuinely shocked that this is the standard now. No one working on this can genuinely believe this is good. It really bothers me when they do these pointless action scenes. We know that Daryl won’t die in these scenes so it’s a complete waste of time. He’s like a superhero who goes through red shirts with zero difficulty. Surely these people who have survived in this world as long as Daryl has should have a similar level of competency and skill. I really can’t see this franchise lasting much longer. No one seems to care anymore. Even the creators don’t care anymore if this is the standard. I’m going back to reread the comics, you know the proper version of the story with a beginning, middle and end where the main character is present for the entire story.
I agree. I'm in the UK too but do know about all the episodes. It is very sad that this spin off is so lacklustre, so devoid of any real care for the main characters. I have lost belief in Daryl almost now. I want the writers to do the character justice not this wishy-washy watered down nonsense that these episode bring. Too much time spent on stuff we don't care about in an only 6 episode season leaves nothing left that we do care about! Where is the real Daryl Dixon gone?
Such a shame to see what is happening to the franchise. Cringe bad writing. The fall scene, nearly every Carol scene… everything is written like a Fear episode. It’s all so dumbed down and relying more and more on action scenes rather than good storytelling or dialogue
@@VAVORiAL Agreed. Only thing good about it was the action scenes. Episode 1 and 3 were the only episodes I thoroughly enjoyed until Michonne and Rick jumped out of a helicopter and started making out for 90% of the screen time. And although people bring up the excuse “it was advertised as a love story!” No one wanted a love story, everyone wanted OG TWD type content back.
@@VAVORiALthe lies y'all tell, episode 4 alone had one of the best written dialogue in the entire franchise, just because you didn't like 3 lines of dialogue towards the end doesn't mean the entire spinoff had "the worst written dialogue in years".

I enjoy your reviews and rants and stuff, but it does seems like you missed some cultural references on this one. I'm not a fan of religion, but there's a lot of religious BS going on here. Just finished watching season 2 and the last episode is definitely a LOT. I'm just puzzled how they end up in Spain in season 3 when they're heading in a different direction at the end of season 2. We shall see!
Who cares? Many TWD fans were already done with it and moved on since Glenn died. No Shane, no T-Dog, no Dale, no Sophia, no Andrea, no Glenn. I wish AMC, producers and writers would have stopped more spin-off shows.

Daryl S2 report card 41.5/60 aka 69% aka C- So far episode 1 was okay but the goofy fear writing hurt it. 7/10 Episode 2 was great with the Daryl plot but the Greenland plot was mediocre. 8/10 I actually really enjoyed episode 3. 8.5/10 Episode 4 is a fear episode and made a very stupid character decision I will never understand. 1/10 Episode 5 is probably the strongest of the season. 10/10 Episode 6 is a solid 9/10 till the last 10minutes. It even trolled us when "you can't always get what you want" starts playing at the end. I absolutely didn't get what I want. 7/10
I'ma be real with ya Jerry, I kinda liked this episode. Here is what I'll say. This episode works ON SCREEN. It's very well directed, the emotional beats flow good, there's great progression and emotional depth between these characters. The episode when viewed in a META/ARC lens of the whole series in context does not work. In a weird sense it somehow doesn't work ON PAPER. The story about Laurent being the Messiah is just not believable enough to sustain a whole season of television or series, especially to have people like Genet and Losang lose their shit over it. That being said Genet is a super fun character/villain, and her time with Carol this episode made me enjoy watching it. The bookend backstory (it was too much like Fear the Walking Dead's fucking bottle episodes) is so drawn out. They should have just removed the boyfriend and just watched her see her fellow employees get eaten and have her lose her shit. She's just a bad bitch like Carol, and that would be totally fine like you said, no need to even make her soft or sympathetic. I kind of like how "fuck you" she is to everyone. The little things like you said are bad, which are ALL the result of the poor overhead/seasonal arc they had going in. Things seem too easy at spots, but they move so fast, I didn't notice until you brought them up. This episode was a cheater, but a fun cheater (to me) nonetheless. A lot happened, but it also doesn't excuse some of the lazy conveniences that keep happening, especially with Carol's storyline. There were also some cool ways they used convenience. Instead of it being Codron that ratted out Carol it was the guy she knew. Carol twisting her story to want to kill Daryl to fool Genet was a cool little thing as well. The scene with Fallou and Laurent was gentle and well done. The scene between Daryl and Isabelle was beautiful and had a lot of good dialogue. Genet turning on Carol AGAIN at the end was also a cool way to show how awful she is. My monkey dopamine brain says 8/10. Upon further inspection my critical brain says a 5 or 6/10. Either way you look at it, this season is very weird. I like and hate things in equal measure. For every great Daryl/Isabelle scene there is a horrible Greenland or Sylvie scene. However, I will fully agree with you on that aspect, Sylvie's death was bullshit. BULLSHIT. They did her character dirty. That was the only thing that really got me mad this episode. It made NO sense. Sorry for going on so long, lmao I'm probably the only one who cares about this shit to the extent to write *checks* 3 paragraphs about a subpar Walking Dead spinoff.

I don’t blame you! I hated these episodes so I’m just being honest in my reviews! To each their own.
@@jerrystakes what I really don’t like is comparing it too fear, it’s not on any level of fear, okay those writers didn’t give a rats ass about the characters only for ratings nothing more than that. Daryl Dixon has not felt like FearTWD by any means with any of these episodes, I’m sorry but it doesn’t, you’re clearly seeing it in a way different view and way than everyone else is, some do see it your way but I see more positive than negative.
@@OverRazeGamer Wasn't expecting to see you here
It's hard to believe they did not change the showrunner for this season because there's no way this is the same creative team that gave us the first season.
@@chancecadle8889tbh I do prefer this season over season 1, which was really messy to me
I agree! This season is whack there are also no answers for the questions the writers planted smh

This episode was gr8. I loved that we got genets backstory which set up her death b/c I hope it happens next episode.

Like cmon bro. Sylvie?!?!? I was so fucking angry this morning. It was not worth the parallel to Sasha and if it wasn’t on purpose, why kill another wonderful black woman with so much potential that way? Laurant was high out of his mind and didn’t even react.
For me this is my least favorite episode so far especially with killing Sylvie that way
I didnt have issues with episodes specifically.. I had an issue with the entire season..
• The wtiting is crap
• Characters are psychic and know when another character has a secret to say
• Characters are psychic and know where our main characters are hiding at all times
• The villains keep dying because theyre so fixated on getting Laurant..
(Isabelle, Sylvie, every villain.)
• Ash's whininess when Carol comes clean.
Losang- Religious cult fanatic which plan makes no sense
Jacinta - Continues chasing Laurant after Losang dies despite her not having the same leadership skills and ability to bring a group together with the charisma Losang has.. Continues chasing Laurant after getting bitten..
Sabine - After Losang and Jacinta dies, this lame non imposing head soldier takes over and continues hunting the main group down, spoiler they mostly all die. Super easy, barely an inconvenience.
I was actually shocked by this title because I loved episode 3. I loved all the episodes so far.
Episode 3 is one of the Best episodes in years for me 💯🔥
Facts! Fire episode
YEARS????
I always find it laughable when shows make the character have bangs to show they were younger, instead of hiring a younger actor. Like some bangs ain’t gonna cut you 15 years off 😆
Watch out Jerry! You’re not aloud an opinion!!
It didn’t even really affect Laurent or Isabelle it’s quickly moved on from.
season 2 episode 3 was TWD's "jumping the shark" moment for me
Anyone knows where I can I find the continuation and or ending of the original TWD? They lost me a few years ago and it's been all over the place since. What happened to Princess etc..i know ppl I've been out da loop

I'm not even watching this show anymore, might binge it some week, but yeaaaa.........
“Looks like she’s running through winterfell!”
You do remember that peak TWD and GOT took shots at each other. It does feel like they took from Winterfell….
The walking dead died when carl grimes died.
No it didn’t
Carl was the worst character in the whole show and I’m tired of pretending he wasn’t. When he was on the show, the comments were all negative towards him and wanted him written off. The show got better and opened up so many cool stories with him gone. And that’s coming from a TWD comic reader.
It was getting boring before he died. It was ruined after Negan took over.
@@BoogSReviewsTrue! The fans hated his character and the hated the bad acting.
Negan ruined it.
The fall was almost comical 🤣
The whole sylvie thing is ridiculous, but otherwise I actually liked this episode
To each their own, I honestly loved Episode 3 but thought episode 4 was awful. But that's why there is different flavors of ice cream. 3 was great, 4 was fear garbage, 5 was awesome, 6 was amazing until the last 10miutes then it just stops making sense.
I still have yet to watch 5 and 6! I really need to see them
The Genet backstory was all of five minutes, nothing like the entire episodes TWD used to do.
Could you imagine how good this show would be if AMC had used the "Black Summer" format?
Easily in my top10 best TWD spinoff episodes
Fair enough!
The ‘museum place’ and the ‘pyramid thing’ is the Louvre. The fact that you don’t know that makes me disregard pretty much everything you say.
Lmfao where’s the correlation between architectural knowledge and reviewing a TV show
thank you sm omg.
It's giving FTWD for sure
yeah people are starting to teleport and become invincible.
*sigh* yes
I think it goes back to your point about how the ones who live ending really sucked my enjoyment right out of any future content. I thought I was getting a bigger connected universe and I didn’t get anywhere close to that.
Dude... don't beat around the bush! Tell us how you REALLY feel!
It would have been amazing and a great close to TWD
They waited too long to put a new show runner in place and Andrew was done with Gimples show running. My opinion is Andrew saying he wanted to spend more time with his kids was just an exit strategy. Gimple fumbled the bag with Rick and Negan’s all out war. It just stretched and got cheesy in the end.
I beg to differ... I Really Enjoyed the Episode. ❤❤❤
Glad you enjoyed it!!!
i fell asleep on this episode and this happened to me long time go on death stranding to🤣😭💔🤣
I always watch the alt TWD series but they are very predictable. Even from the camera angles before something happens you can figure out what’s coming. It’s a little cheesy but still love TWD

Are you watching the "bonus sh*t" at the end of the episodes?
I didn’t see those in the leaks, so no! I have to check that out
This episode felt me feeling like I needed a shower.
Where did you manage to watch the remainder of season 2?
The Monsieur Daryl show is not good. They teased us rogue scientists and mutant walkers in TWB and gave use kooky cults, Neo The One, a France where French seems to be a second language and Tarte Fine Aux Pommes. Last night when the banners unfolded, I turned to my wife and said, of all the stories they could tell, this is what they came up with? Then, I fell fast asleep.
I appreciate your honesty and criticism. The writing of TWD is just straight up trash nowadays. I still care about the characters but you have to put aside all of the stupidity.
I am convinced they gave Ian and Andrew the reins for this season

I haven't been enjoying it as well, it felt like they were giving Daryl weird meaningless missions to "safe" people. Like saving the old man, he's as badass as Rick why does he need to be saved? It was bad as Dead City, so far it has so much plot holes and disconnected from the original show.

What I dont like is that in one scene during this season Carol gets shot with one of the dart guns and just shrugs it off.... For those who watched it well.. yknow what happens when she shoots someone with it.
Yep…. Made no sense in the context of what’s to come.
she took it out before the serum was injected. theres a buffer between when the needle enters the skin and the serum actually being injected into it and she took it out before that could happen
Now don’t crucify me if I’m incorrect but was she not wearing a leather jacket during that scene? Isn’t that why the serum never went into her skin
Its the Louvre (if im not mistaken wich i could be) the piramid
I didn’t care about Genet back story either.

@@jerrystakes not trying be rude to u or anything, i mean we all have our opinions, i accept yours, yes i might sound pretty fucking rude about it, sorry, but idk personally i like s2
I get your complaints, but it's a comic book series.

I've seen plenty of reviewers who, like me, love this spinoff and especially episode 3. Not everyone connects to a show the same way. I have been humbled. It's all good!
It's not the first time an episode 3 of a Walking Dead property was sub par (i.e. Episode 3 of TWD: TOWL)
I think it was a great episode!
Hot Take: The Ones Who Live was the worst spinoff between Dead City and Daryl Dixon.
TOWL had legitimately the worst written dialogue I have heard in years
@@VAVORiAL Agreed. Only thing good about it was the action scenes.
Episode 1 and 3 were the only episodes I thoroughly enjoyed until Michonne and Rick jumped out of a helicopter and started making out for 90% of the screen time.
And although people bring up the excuse “it was advertised as a love story!”
No one wanted a love story, everyone wanted OG TWD type content back.
Oh for sure. Daryl Season 2 even kicks that show's ass. The last 3 episodes were so poorly done and rushed.
@@VAVORiALthe lies y'all tell, episode 4 alone had one of the best written dialogue in the entire franchise, just because you didn't like 3 lines of dialogue towards the end doesn't mean the entire spinoff had "the worst written dialogue in years".
@@OwenC08Speak for yourself and fanboys like you, I(and the majority of people) got exactly what we wanted from towl, a story about the characters first, very much OG like actually.
I wish AMC, producers and writers would have stopped more spin-off shows.
i liked it
i liked every episode except the first one
Dang bro you kinda starting to become a Twd hate channel 😭
Not trying to be!
@@jerrystakesyou’re in a minority but each to their own, I used to watch every review but now it’s just been hating and everyone else I know has been enjoying or theirs minor things that haven’t been great but not the end of the show.
@@OverRazeGamer minority or not, it’s still my opinion. We don’t have to agree on it, and that’s totally fine. If you watched my coverage of S1, I think it’s clear I’m not always negative nor hate watching, I just don’t like this season, it’s a significant decline in quality in my opinion.
@@jerrystakes Okay and yes it is and I respect but it is not enjoyable to watch but that’s me. And in my opinion I think the opposite in terms of it’s about the same/some areas better than previous season but again I do respect your opinions it’s just sad to see you’re not enjoying it like others have been
How is Jerry in the minority when the overall viewership is down so much?
The writing is atrocious and has been on every spinoff
Daryl S2 report card
41.5/60 aka 69% aka C-
So far episode 1 was okay but the goofy fear writing hurt it. 7/10
Episode 2 was great with the Daryl plot but the Greenland plot was mediocre. 8/10
I actually really enjoyed episode 3. 8.5/10
Episode 4 is a fear episode and made a very stupid character decision I will never understand. 1/10
Episode 5 is probably the strongest of the season. 10/10
Episode 6 is a solid 9/10 till the last 10minutes.
Sorry for going on so long, lmao I'm probably the only one who cares about this shit to the extent to write *checks* 3 paragraphs about a subpar Walking Dead spinoff.
not knowing what the Louvre voids your opinion on anything art, stopped watching instantly at that point. Good luck on your proud ignorance. I do agree the show is terrible, but I don't let fools preach at me.
This is fucking hilarious.
Don’t worry brother 4 5 6 are all awsome
Respectfully, I’ve seen them and hated them too :( episode 5 was decent and the beginning of episode 6 was too but HATED the ending and loathed episode 4
@@jerrystakes how did you see all of them ?
It gets worse
The Paramount Plus leaks!
