Seasons 2 and 3 were filmed back to back. This is why we had a full season drop instead of weeklies. Netflix is milking it and everyone is complaining. Oh well, Peter Jackson turned The Hobbit into three movies.
I loved season 2 besides the abrupt ending which is kind of aggravating. I have to say tho, I do miss some of those characters in season 1, it was just so special…
its so unfortunate that the 2nd season got chopped up and recut and finagled into seasons 2 and 3. all the plot threads went nowhere because theyre in the other half of the 2nd season lol
Exactly. This was not a cliffhanger. Every other show that breaks up a season (to squeeze more than one month subscription fees out of the fans) has complete character arcs in each portion of the split season. They leave questions unanswered, sure. That's the point of a cliffhanger. But this isn't that. This just stops at the end of a random episode in the rising action portion of the story. It wasn't even a "bad" ending because it was clearly never intended to be an ending at all.
Besides the abrupt ending, I loved it and enjoyed it just as much as the first season. I’m just glad we won’t be waiting another 3 years for the rest. I’m also appreciative that they’re not planning on dragging the show out and milking it for all it’s worth before it goes stale. 😂
Me watching this while downloading the entire Season 2 of Squid Games 😂 But I've seen a lot of positive reviews though on YT, but their critique is the same as yours, it feels like the Ending was cut Anyway I'm excited to watch it soon tho xD
When I finished the season I wasn’t as disappointed since I thought they were doing what stranger things season 4 did and release the second half in a few weeks.
I enjoyed it, solid season with strong tension and questions with some good set up for season 3- ended a bit heavy on the cliff hanger but somit to look forward too 🤷♂️
I feel more , as they explained it atleast, they are just psychopaths or people blackmailed into killing. Not trained to do anything but follow orders and kill.
I don’t think this is anywhere close to being a competent season 2. Season 2 should have been Korean John Wick, season 3 should have been a continuation of games in my option. This is an example of a director having too much external pressure and fumbling the bag which I do not blame him for at all. Buttt in every interview he talks about the mental and physical anguish this series has caused him and that he had no vision for this going forward. He mostly speaks of fan theories, getting snuffed for money by Netflix, self doubt, and losing 6 teeth. This is clearly the work of a burnt out man and it shows.

This season had fantastic storytelling and acting all throughout and I thought the new characters were interesting, but I really wish they marketed this season as Season 2 Part 1 and Season 3 as Season 2 Part 2.
Why can't my favorite Netflix shows from 2021 get their season 2s right? First there was Arcane that felt like 2 maybe even at times 3 seasons smashed into 1 and now Squid Game season 2 which feels more like season 2 A than season 2
Yeah I didn’t like this season at all. Because they don’t have as much development of characters they just try to find stuff that tugs at your heart. Trans /gay character, pregnant lady with complicated relationship, Mom and son , 2 best friends. Every thing detailed for me was just surface level . (The tell vs the showing) The first seasons , allowed us to see the lives of r competitors to humanize them and get more attachment so for me they fell really flat on not trying to do that for characters which made me not really care all that much for them . The games for me where just lackluster, red light green light it should of been a different game imo , most of that episode was no point in watching , in some aspects I can understand it’s fascinating to see what he can do now that he knows the tricks and everything, but in reality it’s not that much different then what happens in the first just kinda a repeat. The 4leg game harped on the other contestants way to much that we really don’t care for , we came for the cast and side characters the rest was kinda pointless I was fine if they did it for a few teams and what not but they really dragged it out and milked it to the point they could of used that time for other stuff like idk getting to know the characters better.the spinning game had 0 suspense for me , grab this person go to door, they just shout the number they need for me I just didn’t feel like there lives where truly at risk so for me the traps r very lackluster The lady in red a lot of time was put into her for crap I don’t honestly care for, if we got more backstory besides just surface level crap it would make more sense , just I fled lost my baby sleeps in car isn’t enough for me , I just found it very lackluster and her needing more time , for her to care about the guy with the kid it would be nice if we actually see her thinking about the past of her kid and times she had and ect just having 1 interaction with the guy and the kid just = yes I care for them to unrealistic and forced needed more build up. This show seems to drag stuff on way 2 long when a lot of stuff can be cut out. 2 examples, episode 1 did we really need to have 20-30 mins of just finding the guy with suitcase ? Then going to the train taking photos and all that crap ? U could have made the same message with less time and still be good for the story . The other example the voting it drags on way to much and feels like survivor I get there trying to build up suspense but for me it’s just to long and we kinda already know the outcome so I see it as very pointless and time being wasted . The characters aren’t really all that interesting- Thanos : for how he’s portrayed is good but he’s kinda cringe and not the best imo, his lacky is irrelevant. 380: she was hot and I thought was gonna be something to the story but she has nothing attached to her Crypto guy : very interesting but he’s so surface level to him that I don’t really care for him all that much. Pregnant girl : really liked her she was a badass but again there’s nothing really to her besides I’m just pregnant , and her boyfriend dipped from her for reason that’s all to her and I really want more to her Old lady : love her the way she put herself out there for her son and just who she is ( don’t really need a whole arc for her character because she’s a mom so she doesn’t need much ) The son : the way he’s just very attached to his mom like a baby just I don’t like to much , he has a gamble problem but why not show us instead of tell so for me I just didn’t really care all to much for him. The trans : she’s so cool , I really like her but I won’t lie when she was telling her story I just kinda skipped it I didn’t really care ( for that we need to see not be told) Everyone else was 🔥 I just really wished they humanized them a lot better then make us cling to these emotional things about them instead of giving us development of these characters The final thing the brother who fell off the cliff was just kinda a repeat of the first season and I personally didn’t like it all that much , his character is just being circular and a lot fo the time with him could of been without. Overall lackluster games , lack of development of characters, majority of characters aren’t good, a lot of not needed scenes , dragging way to much. For me I give this season a 5/10 The first season I had a 9/10 or 10/10

Big let down season 2, thought those mercenaries would have seen action,Last episode was poor.

Yeah I didn’t like season 2 very much. It’s definitely a complete downgrade in terms of quality from season 1 imo.
