A Friday Evening at Bedford, Midland station on August 25th 2017. Managed to catch a rare move, without evening planning for it, this day was the last weekday Thameslink class 319 in service to Bedford! The weekend after was last class 319 service to Bedford. So this had drawn a fair bit of attention, plenty of people out seeing the last peak class 319 service.
INCLUDES: East Midlands HST's & Meridians, Thameslink 700's & 319's and London Midland 150.
The northbound HST featured which stops, wasn't scheduled to stop. There was a track circuit failure in the area, so it did an unscheduled stop. But managed to get some fantastic sound as it screams its way out of Bedford.

I miss the 319s
They've had their day. The seats are fcuked, the lights are all discoloured giving a dim yellow lit interior, the motors are tired. They've done a good turn though.
Very good on the trains (Green diesel is Westbound when all else is North and Southbound) but, by choosing a camera position that wasn't in anybody's way, you managed to give an impression of Bedford Midland Station almost totally devoid of passengers, which I know from experience not to be the case! It would need the approval and cooperation of the station operators, but could a time-lapse be done near the exit/entrance from the platform to the barriers, to show how important the services at this station are to Bedford?

I like the look of the 700's from the outside, like all these new trains they look cool. But just....why must they have such bad seats :(

Those Class 700 look like chubby cheeked hamsters don't they. And from what people say the seats are dreadful.
They aren't great no. Seems odd that in their sister class, the 707, they are noticeably more comfortable.
I just wish they still used Steam trains 😭
