SERIES SUMMARY
The Alpha Jay Show reviews animation episodes, animated TV movies, cartoons, and other things as a main series. I have reviewed many things from Fairly Oddparents to SpongeBob to Teen Titans Go to The Amazing World Of Gumball and many more. Expect a fair, open-minded and non-pandering review of whatever episode I use. Did She-Ra Start Off Well?
Alpha Jay Show I...think so😅
Alpha Jay Show yes
yeah kinda....as you said...it s waas mediocre but kept me going....and going and going and then episode 11. Im specting a season2. Can you review more episodes?
Sort of
If glitter ( fat useless one) disappears for the second season. I’ll “meh” it.
I had no idea there was controversy surrounding the show. I just happen to see it on Netflix and decided to watch it. I personally thought it was pretty good
@@CherryCrystalBall what?? No way! And the stuff in the new show pays omage to the old show in subtle ways.
Same
@@CherryCrystalBall yeah, the name tagged along with the show is mostly for more attention but if they had made these two shows a separate thing, then people would've called out how similar the content was
@@CherryCrystalBall but the reboot title would draw in more fans than if it was a stand alone is what I'm saying
@@CherryCrystalBall "if it hate the original IP" what? Bro I'm not a grammar nazi or anything but can you at least type in a way so I can understand what you're trying to say?
I love this show, but does anyone else think the other princesses are a lot more interesting to watch than our main characters here? I mean, Princess Entrapta was working on a fucking doomsday device before she met either Adora or the Horde. Princess Mermista apparently has some sort of relationship going on with Seahawk, yet kind of acts as if she's keeping him at arm's length whenever anyone asks. Princess Frosta feels she must carry herself a certain way in order to be taken seriously by her people. Scorpia is basically a giant teddy bear who fights for the Horde because her family is loyal to the Horde.
Can we see more storylines with these characters please?
You have to ask the production companies but I would like that to
I’m glad we got a lot of Entrapta and Scorpia in season 3!
Personally I felt like Adora leaving the horde and being accepted into the rebellion went too quickly
I was much more interested in Catra and her progression
That's exactly what I was thinking. Like she was raised and brainwashed all her life but after 5 minutes doesn't even have any second thoughts
@@-saskie-5172 The point is that she's always had a sense of justice. You can tell from the very beginning that she's not actually bad. Also she ra is god like figure, it wouldn't take much to accept her.
All the petty back and forth about this is just stupid. I personally like the reboot, but will admit it has some flaws just as the 80's version had flaws.
80s version was more feminine looking. LOL
Every cartoon has flaws I’m sure 🤷🏽♂️
Well the 80s version was mostly made to sell girls toys, just like any other 80s show like transformers.
Lots of flaws
Well I liked it c:
I think both parts of The Sword should've been in this video
Agreed. When a series starts with a two-parter, watching only one part means you're getting only half the story.
Yep. A 2 part episode should be reviewed as 1 episode. The exception to this is if they form the finale of one season and premier of the next but even then it may be better to treat them as 1
Yeah, it's a bit hard to judge a show based on its first episode when you're only technically watching half of the first episode. Of course not everything was explored/explained in part one of The Sword; it's only part 1! You're supposed to watch it alongside the second part!
Just finished the first season, and my favorite parts are with the villains.
Same.
Why am I here, I had no idea the show or the reboot even existed
Monado Boy because it’s alpha jay?
I didn’t know it was a reboot 😭
I saw the first few episodes and I liked it, it’s charming, action packed, and cute at the same time.
Yep
I feel like I'm the only person on the internet who likes Glimmer. She's one of my favorite characters.
I think she is fine.....could be done better but she is pretty solid.
Sydney Kawaii Girl I’m fine with Glimmer
She starts off annoying, but gets better later on. I wish that would also happen with a certain OTHER GLIMMER
starlight?.....sshe is fine....
I think she's a good character.
I don't like the Adora/Catra relation ship at all; Catra mentally abuses Adora lmao. It's also pretty clear Glimmer has feelings for Adora, too. I like their dynamic in the later episodes more than catra's in the later, but prefer Catra over Glimmer in the beginning.
I absolutely love this show, and the animation and it's flaws just don't bother me
Yay! Finally a person who doesn't care about animation cuz is not as important as the writing.
Now go buy the toys
Wawawait dude, I would but I'm way too poor to DAT chief
Same man I think people think to much or like expect to much out of CARTOONS
@@Starcrossedslv what I think people need to expect from cartoons that are directed for children is at best deliver valuable lessons and deliver a story that makes since and flows naturally for children to understand and at worst make kids entertained like TTG. Though there is more nuance I think that's a good foundation to start.
on a scale from TTG to Duck Tales. I find this show tends to trend more towards the latter. It's not as good as Duck Tales, but definitely shows potential. I feel like it desperately needs a second season to distinguish itself.
if I were to rate it, I would personally give it an 8.5, but as a critic its about at a 7 right now.
I thought it was all right. The characters are fun and the story is decent. Kinda wish the character designs weren’t so simple, but I got over it. It’s a decent show and I feel it’s better than the original, though that’s not much of an achievement. As iconic as the older shows were, they were pretty bad. Fun and campy, but pretty bad. Idk, I hope they get better in the second season.
I think it’s ok to simplify designs if you don’t have a big enough budget for good animation and complex designs
Andrew Kim designs tend to be simple to allow better animation over detail. It’s eh though for detail and animation
Maybe the animation budget wasn’t big enough for both?
This show is competing with so many more animes that have better character designs
She-Ra -- *_Top 10 Most Anticipated New Characters For Smash Ultimate_*
I thought She Ra was pretty mediocre. It was okay, I feel like they could've executed some plots better. I don't actually see a lot of praise for the show about the plot, but for the ships. Maybe season 2 will be better. 💜
If a ship is getting more praise than the plot count me out. Don’t want another Voltron incident again.
@@KhanMann66 But Voltron is ACTUALLY good...
@@DJFlare84 Not that. The fanbase shippers. Research the shipping wars on Voltron on Google. Shit got real out of hand.
@@KhanMann66 Hey as long as the Voltron crew don't let the toxic K-Lance shippers get under their skin we should be alright.
Jesus, though. Really. People like that annoy the shit out of me. Why can't two bros just be bros? Why's it always gotta be some secret gay crush?
Like two dudes can't just be bros.
In other news I completely agree with the OP. I couldn't even get through Episode-1 because it was so bland and uninteresting. It wasn't bad, to be fair. It just... wasn't amazing. She-Ra is way overhyped but that's about the worst I'll say about it. I actually don't give too much of a crap about the lackluster animation and artstyle and design choices. You can get away with that kind of thing if your story is fantastic.
A good case-and-point is Spectacular Spider-Man. Many people shied away from it because of the goofy cartoony artstyle (in comparison to previous Spider-Man cartoons) but anyone who's actually watched it will tell you hands-down it is the best incarnation of animated Spider-Man that ever has been or ever WILL be.
This is one show I'm actually glad got rebooted. I love all the characters and the setting, and hopefully we'll be getting a He-Man reboot as well.
You mean other than the 2002 one?
WeegeeSlayer I hope He-Man shows up in a later season. Even more so I hope Skeletor does
@@MissJukeBox8 MYEH!
@@MissJukeBox8 mattel has he man
Me too not gonna lie, I was starting to feel as though i was the only fan of this show xD
I like Shadowweavers design and how it sort of gives off this feel of uneasiness, which is great for... a spoiler related reason.
She-ra reboot falls in category of decent reboot, not too bad or great. I have no problems with characters new design. Considering old ones are kind of generic. I just watch one episode. I will like to see more if Skeletor appears in the show.
Lets be honest Skeletor best character ever !!!!
Well Ultraman is getting a reboot and that actually seems better than this one
Ok dude are you just going to reply to every comment that has a vague message of saying it sucks?
@@andrewkim9848 Woah sorry for using the RUclips comment section. I didn't know I was breaking any rules. So I guess I'll stop using this feature just because you don't like me using it
Amolina44 They can’t since they don’t own the rights to Masters of the Universe
I agree Skeletor is really the ONLY memorable character of the He-Man franchise (Besides the Gay man himself XD)
Me: “You know, i think I agree. I don’t really like Rebo-“
*Voltron exists*
Me: “well then!”
Are you kidding me that ones was the worst one
At least past season 5
I think She-Ra was kinda fast-paced and filled with generic uncomplex characters that magically became the main trios "best friends" but then never heard of again.
Episode 8 changes everything, since now when all the characters are introduced, the show actually starts. And it's... Ok. I absolutely love the relationship development between Bow and Glimmer, Everyone and Adora, and most of all Adora and Catra. Boy. Adora and Catra. Catra's character overall is like.... Amazing.
You should definitely review part 2. These did they start off well videos of good but they really suffer from you reviewing only the first episode and not the whole first story
**some spoilers below**
Did it start off well? I'm glad I watched it, but the first 2 episodes look worse in retrospect than they probably are. After watching the entire series, I think there are some massive problems with the show that may cause it to collapse in on itself if they aren't corrected in Season 2. Problems that are only apparent in the opening episode when viewed in context of the rest of the show.
2 things in particular: 1) Unbalanced writing and 2) Lazy animation. Not BAD animation - LAZY. Adora's sword goes missing regularly. Rubble appears and disappears. Characters seem to have magic pockets where things get put and there's nothing there after. Characters changes position between "Takes", etc. The style is fine - not my cup of tea, but not something I'm annoyed with. The lazy animation is something I have a problem with.
And the writing... oi. I think comparisons of Catra to Zuko from Avatar are legitimate. Zuko makes nearly every scene he's in a better scene. Catra's scenes are the absolute best in this show, hands down. Once you take Catra out of a scene, everything else is Acceptable to Meh. (to horrible in the case of Bow and Sea Hawk) Almost the entire season 1 is looking for ways to get Catra into scenes with other people (Shadow Weaver, Adora, Entrapta, the Princess Prom, Hordak, etc.) because those scenes are the best in the entire series.
The awesomeness of the Catra scenes makes the rest look worse because you compare Adora and Glitter and Bow together to Adora and Catra, or Adora and Entrapta to Catra and Adora or Glimmer to Mommy Glimmer, and the scenes without Catra are noticeably weaker, making them seem weaker than they actually are. This is going to cause problems in Season 2, and if not rectified will mean there isn't likely to be a Season 3.
I'd seriously love to see if Netflix keeps records of what gets fastforwarded/skipped during the shows, and how many people simply skipped to scenes with Catra in them.
As for Bow... he and Sea Hawk are perhaps my least favourite characters in the entire show. Both of them scream "CIS-WHITE-HET-MALE YOU CAN'T WRITE THIS KIND OF CHARACTER UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE CALLED HOMOPHOOOOOBBBBIIIICCCCCCCC!!!!!". Just imagine if these had been written by a straight white dude - the uproar would be tremendous if they actually got to air exactly as is.
Seriously, Bow is almost the perfect So-Closeted-He-Doesn't-Know-It-But-Everyone-Else-Around-Him-Sees-It-And-Is-Cool-With-It Gay Teen stereotype, right down to the best female friend who gets jealous when he goes to Prom with someone else (because he's utterly and completely safe to go with and now she has to go with Adora and that makes them look like a couple and that's not what she wants to project). And Sea Hawk... well. Best thing for these two characters is for them to get sent off on a mission together and come back as a married couple. It's 2018, we're cool with LGBTQ+ characters, even in kids shows. Hell, when I walk through my daughters Grade school they've got all sorts of Trans-inclusive posters up about "Everyone has a right to their own pronouns!" schtick, so we're three steps past "Homosexual".
And now with Tumblr cracking down on the NSFW stuff, there isn't going to be as much of a threat of Bow and Sea Hawk: Men On The Sea! artwork that would have proliferated on Tumblr. So make them a couple and send them off on their own already!
@@thatotherguy8138 What do you think after seasone 5?
I dunno, I really love the show but i can understand how someone more into Hard Action Fight Scenes over softer action character driven stuff wouldn't be into it. I just think that it boils down to it's inoffensive and people have their own tastes, and it should just be left at that lol.
Well I love the show. Episode 11 where they explore adora and catras past together was my favorite. Also entrapta is delightful. And shadow weaver is really interesting, I like seeing the abusive mother sort of dynamic and catras last fight with her talking about how she was being trained for that one moment was just. Wow.
Me: **hears that he thinks glimmer is a bad character**
Also me: *G A S P*
The first episode, let alone the first season, of a show usually starts off rough. But this show gets better with every season.
I think that Adora and Catra's relationship and the complicated relationship they both have with their abuser/mother-figure
This is my favorite cartoon on Netflix
This is the kind of thing cn should take notes of.
I watched this with my older sister, and I agree with almost everything you mentioned. I didn't really want to watch part 2 because I got bored of episode one, not a very good sign. Your review made it a lot more interesting though and I'm hoping you make a part 2. Thank you!
@@CherryCrystalBall well she is just one kid, I wouldn't really use one person to determine if the show is good. Everyone can like and certain things in different ways. Someone else in the comments stated that their little cousin loves this show.
Before watching: I thought it started off well, though I'm not too cool with the opening theme song.
Update: I expected a judgement of both parts, to be honest.
The main problem i have with this show is the writing. It's kinda dumb that the princesses made an alliance and then threw away the whole idea pretty soon because "Oh, no! Entrapta died, we didn't know people die in war!" and came back later in the season finale anyway. It is also kinda strange that Entrapta betrayed her friends like the next day after the mission. I understand that she is kinda insane but it still seems like a jerky move. It would have been great moment if she really had waited for weeks or months and got hopeless and lost that her friends had forgotten about her.
What also bothers me is that side characters don't even have much attention. They just appear in one episode and they are... just there. You see characters a lot but they don't really play any role or develop. You see Kyle failing to keep Bow in prison, you see Lonna complaining about Adora's betrayal and... that's it. They're still have little involment in the main plot. The same applies to most princesses who don't have any focus apart from the episodes they first appear in. And it's a show called She-ra and the PRINCESSES of power.
It's sad the 2nd and 3rd season are only 6 episode each and the show still forgets about most characters we're introduced to. It feels like the show has bad raitings and the creators want to end the show quickly by cutting number of episodes leaving little time to develop anything aside from the very core of the main story. Or they randomly decided to split one season into two?
P.S I watched first two seasons quite a while ago but I just voice some issues I have with it since season 1 and would thank people who correct me if I'm wrong in some parts.
Started off gay.
Ended off gay.
Five seasons summed up too two sentences
I think it’s a solid start and to replace Voltron when it ends (And it will break my heart when Voltron ends) But I hope too see more of it.^^
“Shadow Weaver, this thing here,” BRO THAT GOT ME!!! LOL!!!
But I gotta be honest, everything said is true, but it totally upgraded in season 2+3
I very very very VERY much prefer this to Steven Universe. She-Ra most definitely has flaws but at least the animation is consistent. Steven Universe couldn't even do that.
+HOW HOW Yes yes! In the span of five seasons I grew far more attracted to each and every character in this than I ever did with SU. It happened far more gradually with SU, which wasn’t bad or anything, but the story arcs and characters weren’t as solid.
This series was good but I felt they took it too fast. I felt like all of what happened in season 1 could be split into 2
8:38 last time balance was restored, alot of younglings died

You were an excellent unbiased review. Thoroughly enjoyed the loop.

I really like She-Ra, but I'd say that it started out OK, then got better quick.
The most important question I have when seeing this; WHERE IS SKELETOR IN THIS SHOW AND IF HE DOES WHEN + WHERE WILL HE SHOW UP?!?
Anyone else actually like the story, characters, and art?
Anyone else hate the intro to She-Ra?

I actually loved the reboot! The characters are so fun and develop more and more each season! Relationships that are explored,(whether they’re unhealthy or not), are so well thought out in the show! The plot isn’t the best, but it was still great! Keep in mind that this is just my personal opinion.
Aaaaaaaaw, the way cat ra was sleeping
Does anyone else think the first episode kinda resembles Netflix's version of Carmen San Diego? I don't know which came first but I just started She-Ra and the similarities are striking

Soooo hey! I just watched this video from like 2 years ago and i have to say that if u stoped watching the show u should go and continue it! First 2 seasons are hard to pass througth but since season 3 it just gets better and better. On my opinion, It’s one of the better animaded shows of the decade. Oh and sorry for the spelling mistakes, im really bad at writting in english
Alpha Jay Show Are there any reboots that are your absolute favorite, or any reboots that you think are better than the original?
I want this show to be good REALLY BADLY. I like the world that they've set up, and the separation of She-Ra from He-Man. I like the characters. I really like Adora, Bow, and Glimmer. I actually really like Glimmer, as well, I always thought she was fun to have on screen. I just want to this cool world expand and get even better.
Also, if this is good, new He-Man, I'm imagining
Im not sure why, but Shadow Weaver's new look kinda reminds me of Ouya from Xiaolin Showdown.
Anyone know what shows should be revived or rebooted? I know shows like Jimmy Neutron need to continue badly.
One thing that bothers me is the fact that it looks like they took a brush across their noses like in the Ben 10 reboot. Why is this a thing?
Yeah what the heck?
...apart of the art style 👌🏽
I heard it was lazy shading somewhere.
"Shadowweaver - this *thing* here" mood
I love this show. :) I actually liked the glimmer mother scene. It shows how young she is and sets up the mothers overprotectiveness. Also I like bow too, he reminds me of sokka from avatar. Another thing I just thought of is maybe you don’t like the show as much is I do because you don’t like glimmer, because of that you get a lot less enjoyment because you are constantly reminded of a character you don’t like. I actually like glimmer, she’s not perfect but she is a 13 year old and I think that comes across very well, she’s bright eyed and naive. so I am watching this review and editing this comment as I go in. while I’m watching you just said something along the lines of ‘I’ve seen so many fantasy shows and I would rather watch the first season of Steven universe because at least it’s fantasy plus something’ now I’m paraphrasing of course, but something I find interesting is how much you compare this with other shows instead of seeing it in it’s own light. Now obviously when you compare shows the least good show is gonna look worse in comparison. Now I don’t watch Steven universe I watch very few recent cartoons I’m more of an anime person. But from what I’ve heard from Steven universe is that it’s a lot like this and it’s very good. But because I don’t watch Steven universe I think it makes me appreciate this show a lot more. Yes I think this show is pretty rushed feeling but overall I still enjoy it. You know another idea I just had is I don’t watch nearly as many cartoons as you do; I’m not a reviewer but I think I get enough from the show and I enjoy it and I can look past its flaws as a casual watcher. I still respect your opinion of course, everyone has a right to their own opinion and I try to respect all of them as long as they’re not hateful. But I think if you were to watch the show from my point of view and not compare it to other shows you might enjoy it a little more but I don’t know that’s just my opinion whatever your feeling on the show I will still love it I may be the only fandom this show has lol
Wow I didn’t mean for this comment to be so long but whatever that’s what happens when you type from the heart LOL
@@sonicrocks53 Eh, at best Bow is like Sokka, but without any of the humor that made him Sokka.
I’m confused by the comment, “I don’t understand why they did this other than the writing makes sense.” Isn’t that what you should do? I’m assuming I’m missing context. Viewers who have seen more are probably just used to some version of short hand I am not unconscious or otherwise.

While I love the show, I find that your criticism is completely correct
I told my mom about this
She was a fan of the original, and she was so happy
I'm tempted to give it a watch
thank u for a good and well thought out review, I feel like a lot of the ones I've seen so far are so biased but your stuff as always didn't disappoint
I always feel like critics have to say they’re not hating it because it’s a reboot until I realized I was watching a critic on my iPad and my TV complaining about reboots
I'd like to see a review of part 2. This show looks interesting and I have heard some divisive things about it.
Oh look at it now.
Dreamworks, you know there is a way to have He-Man be a part of this world, while making sure She-Ra isn't in his shadow. For instance: hint towards the full legend of She-Ra and He-Man in the second season, with an episode where he makes an appearance for a time, and then have the He-Man reboot start off at the same chonological point as the opening to She-Ra, then the previous episode would become a good crossover (sorta).
Or even create He-Man first, then make She-Ra a few months later, then have a Crossover episode showing they're, and this is pretty damn cliché, Twins separated at birth. Then have the two cameo every few episodes on each series.
There is absolutely no way for He-Man to be part of this world because another company has the rights to Masters Of the Universe and is turning it into a probably very dire movie that supposedly comes out towards the end of 2019, if it manages to finally stay out of development hell. This Adora doesn't have a twin brother.
The only way He-Man would fit into this show was if he was no more muscular than She-Ra, half as intelligent as her, wore pants and a top, and had his hair in a manbun.
Someone fanart plz! :p

Short answer y. Medium answer ye. Long answer yes.
I know that there are people upset about it, but I liked it. That being said I never saw the original so if you are a fan of the original and don't like what they did with the characters that's fair, but as a show on its own, I think it's fine.
1:03- 1:06 Unikitty suits up
I like the character designs for the most part and the characters themselves aren't a problem for me. I dont really like the animation though and they either need a better budget or to use animators rather than people that appear to be more used to drawing than creating movement/action. At least that is my opinion.
As somebody who lacks any drive to pick up this series for any reason whatsoever, I would appreciate it if you picked up episode 2. When it comes to two-part pilot episodes, I think people are almost required to see both parts to get the clearest opinion on whether it is worth watching.
The show gets better after the pilot episodes
@@andrewkim9848 episodeS? So that means that the show doesn't draw too much attention until episode 3?
it leaves a decent impression during parts 1 and 2, but episode 3 gathers more attention. So basically yes
I’m kind of on the fence about whether to watch this or not. Given the reputation reboots have, I mostly go with the “wait and see” mentality.
ALTHOUGH, there is some news about upcoming Netflix animated shows that actually interest me...
Also, is it bad that I expected a clip of Adora yelling “I have the power!”? Like, if she’s He-Man’s twin sister, then you’d think she’d maybe say it.
Watch it if you want to but for me it's just too inconsistent in story, art style, and proportions.
So is Steven Universe but that show is praised for some reason
The show is fine. Somehow it doesn t have much sjw stuff apart from the designs and a cameo. The plot and animation is ok and the show can pull some awesome stuff from.time to time. Hope we get a season 2 and a apology from noelle.
So you were expecting the show to be a giant SJW middle finger
@Andrew Kimv well...the people made an uproar about it so yeah pretty much. i was wrong and i guess so they were.
In reality regardless of the intent of the creators or how the fans interpret the show, the show itself is pretty competent.
@Brandon Roberts to be fair.....the creator and voice actors were dicks
@Brandon Roberts yeah...the anti sjw are slowly turning on what they hate. Shame

I'm enjoying it and would love to hear your thoughts on part 2.
Also, Glimmer is my favorite character.
the problem with only doing one part of a 2 parter is that you only get part of the story they are trying to tell like if you did part of one of mlp friendship is magic you would only get part of the story and only establish the characters and nothing else and you get a cliffhanger at the end of the part one; so part 2 would be a good (since you said yourself part 2 is better)
I have never seen this show but I’ve been wanting to watch it. I really like Glimmers character design, it’s really cool to see a curvier girl in a tv show who isn’t the comic relief!
I'm still wondering how the sun shone in disbando... did Disbando have its own sun?
Yessss reveal part 2
Biggest issues
- academy is short lived and i understand so little of the environment, propaganda and consequences of the schooling of teen soldiers
- so little characterizing of the kids aside from Catra and adora of the evil side, Kyle is useless but not a character traits (feeble, lack of confidence, insecure yes but no arc to make it worth it and why does the horde keep him
- glimmer
- that battle that glimmer lost seemed interesting, wish we saw it than childish bickering with mom
- convenience of sword in woods
The hoard not hoardaxs. Edit: Shadow Weaver's redesign looks awesome and good
Hi alpha jay ! 🙂
I hope for the sequel they bring Mantenna and Leech! We briefly got to see Grizzlor in the new version of She-ra, hopefully in the sequel we can see more of him as well!!
I was curious to see Alpha review this reboot, after watching I can clearly see it's because of what the show could be compared to what they are doing with the show.
I would like to see the part 2 review
I’ve never seen the original She-ra so since I don’t have a bias, I really like these characters, I’ve seen the whole thing and it’s really good.
Jay can you make a comparison video of your crossover nexus ok ko review and your gumball holloween review. I think you can say something about nostalgia being a factor on why you and otheres liked or disliked the two episodes.
I finished the series a few day ago and I legit forgot half of what happened in episode 1
I like the reboot a lot but I feel like it's more on the part of me having my nostalgia being triggered from me growing up watching She Ra and He Man but I do think from my perspective it's a good show, I enjoyed it and it was entertaining. Of course it's not a perfect show you pointed flaws I saw too but I didn't mind them but it's also not the worst show to ever exist. If you like the show then keep watching it, if you didn't like the show stop watching lol some people don't seem to understand that. I always liked your reviews because you are blunt honest and never picking a side of it's the worst or it's the best (unless warranted so) and I enjoy it. Keep up the good work! ♡
So far, I'm not impressed. Not the worst thing ever, but these characters do not interest me. The animation is not very good either. The story has the capacity to be interesting, but the show did not interest me. Tentative thumbs-down, light 2/5.
A good story can save bad animation, but good animation will not save a bad story
@@andrewkim9848 A good example of that would be Sword Art Online.
Yeah tbh, the story for SAO is shit but it looks nice
@@andrewkim9848 A good story can save bad animation, but it doesn't matter that much when you don't care what happens to the characters.
Youd think the simple designs would allow better animatuon
Have I ever been this early?
When your partner was dissapointed
Great series!
I think this should have been reviewed as both parts, as that’s technically the first episode in two parts.
I was kinda sad that he man wasn't in it but than I thought that season two he man was going to be in it and the get more she takes origin and he was the key for her to find out what she ra
0:38 of coarse. I've been prioritizing world conquest myself. Hopefully, no one gets in my way
Oh my dog how ironic!!!! In science today we SOMEHOW got into a discussion about reboots of basically anything and basically everyone was like “reboots are terrible they don’t even need to be a thing they’re just trying to be hip with the kids” and I was like “Some reboots like Ducktales 2017 is pretty good” and as soon as I said that they changed the octaves of the theme song my science teacher was like “oh yeah no I’m not buying it” IM THE REASON HE KNOWS THAT ITS EVEN A THING!!! HE HASNT EVEN SEEN IT!!!! Then I was like “it’s not a bad kind of different I think it’s actually better” but he was like “no they changed it not good” REALLY MAN!!! Change isn’t bad if it’s done right!! 🤦🏻♀️
Preach
so is about a military organitiation fighting against an army of magical princesses?
dafuq
Also about advertising and selling She-ra toys.
Well, the original also was very very clear about the Horde being an intergalactic empire that's invaded Etheria and has pretty much taken over. Etheria was a planet of magic and fantasy, having the technology of the 1200s Europe. Or the European dark ages. So wooden tools and carts and horse-drawn carriages and magic all which ways. Then The Horde comes as this technologically and scientifically advanced military group with tanks, laser cannons, airplanes and superpowered, alien villains.
Not really, this season is heavily just recruiting that it makes u wonder what the rebellion actually does for the people to warrant them wanting to leave the horde for them in the first place
@@CherryCrystalBall That's how American cartoons worked back then. First you make a toy line, and then you hire an animation studio to make a cartoon series to sell that toy line. They toys came first, and the animation shows were part of the promotion for the toys. They were essentially advertising.
