Another few points to mention about the aerodynamics! The air is also traveling through the center intake and out of the hood assembly. The corner front bumper intakes further pull air around and through the front wheel arches to the sides of the car. Let me know what you think about the design efforts and the overall package. Is it worth the price? I hope you enjoy the review!
The Emira design is more supercar-like compared to the Cayman, which has always been the elegant choice. It’s more aggressive on the outside and more engaging on the inside. With the exposed shift linkages and the sport display the Emira transmits the driver’s experience to the passenger, which is something only found in recent Ferraris. If one’s in the market for a new Cayman, the Emira is something you should seriously consider.
Great coverage of the Emira. Small correction: the manual v6 has a mechanical torsen diff, the automatic v6 amg and dct amg m139 i4 have e-diffs. V6 has full hydraulic steering and i4 is electro hydraulic.
From everything I've been seeing with this car I love it. I think its the prettiest car lotus has ever made, and I even think it's prettier than a lot of what Ferrari has been coming up with lately.
Trust Lotus DNA to do the right job and protect their cooling hardware with mesh like its the 2000's. Should be standard on every modern performance car in the 2020's.
I LOVE this car! Thanks for covering it.
Love this & that COLOR😍😍 VERY informative. Thanks for the video Speed!!
Speed Phenom Awesome Review I think it's absolutey incredible that you got to Drive that Absolutely incredible Lotus Emira and I think that Supercharger sounds absolutely incredible
awesome review...most comprehensive emira review i've seen
Great review. Best one yet. More details than other posters
best emira review. Explained things others haven't.
Great review, a lot of sensible talking points not talked about in others :)
Nice review
This car is the beauty and the beast ,all in one ❤
Loved the color!!
Picked up mine today. Seneca, manual, sports suspension, no black pack, diamond cut wheels
Nice video my brother
Beautiful color combination.
I’ve always liked the styling of the Evora but this one blows me away, really sleek yet elegant looking car 👍
That is a beautiful car!
That's a lot of things that are 'going to be', but all I can see is that they are there already. Bonus dude!
Great looking Lotus
it also has a timeless look. Will look great 10 years from now.
I'll take one in yellow please.
Nice review. It's ok to take a breath though and be quiet for a bit so we can hear the car more, after all it's the star of your show...:)
Lotus Emira production line will max at 7000 globally per year. They are currently running below that rate. The V6 Manual will only be produced for about two more years since Toyota is ending production of the 2GR FE engines in 2025. Everything after that will be a turbo 4 AMG automatic. To me the V6 will be the one to get but the line is already long.
Do you work there??
@@lewisstory9831 no, this is all public information on Emira forums
Nice looking car
Its beautiful! Kinda like a mini F8 Tributo!
Jay Emm says it has nearly the same frame as the narrower Evora, but a body that sticks out farther on each side. So he called it "an Evora in a fat suit"!
You should try and get your hands on an old Lotus Esprit to play with on the track for comparison, to see where where the DNA comes from when it comes to truly fast Lotuses. I reckon it wold make a great video.
Will you be getting one? Would be truly awesome to see you take delivery of an Emira and show the world its capabilities on the track! You are one of the very few people who has both the means and the skills to do this!!
It’s Camry 2GR motor with lotus Supercharger
Everything I read said it had an LSD not a e-diff?
How much is this car 70 k? Great video
Charlie Day does awesome car reviews.
Is this the corporate car in Michigan? Did you say you drove an Evora GT, and it was dated like 20 years ago. I have an Evora GT, and it outperforms the Emira. Maybe you meant the original Evora.
Best car anywhere near that price
As far as I can tell there are still no US cars being delivered because Lotus messed up the approval process. The waiting list is long and production is low so those of us who might want to get one are probably looking at 2025 I’d guess. I’m personally not a fan of the Voldemort nose intakes but the rest is gorgeous. I’d cross shop this with Cayman GTS4.0.
Just so people know, the color in the thumbnail is NOT a color that is available. Dark Verdant is the only green and it's a VERY VERY dark green. Looks black most of the time or in low light and only in direct sun/light does the green come out, and it's still very dark. This is SEVERELY filtered.
Nothing gets past you does it 😅
@@peep5118just stating a fact, that's all.
It is hydraulic steering lol, that is why. 4cl version is an electric rack.
I'd totally take it over a c8 or cayman
Automatic Dark Verdant V6 is how I like it
The V6 only comes with manual transmission. If you want auto, it's gonne be with the 4cyl Turbo from AMG.
@@Nemoticonon the Lotus site you can configure V6AT and that is supposed to be 1 of the 3 flavors available.
@@spongesurf12 I looked it up and I see that you are correct, for the 2024 updates. I did not know this, thank you for correcting me.
Lotus and auto dont go together mate...
@@Alex-dz6xw well yeah there's that but you "could" get it if you want sacrilege!
The real Last True lotus is the 380 exige sport LT and 430 cup but not available in the us
Tall Guy reviews does this in 5 mins
Lotus going full electric is suicide. IMO
Ev f that. This is what we need a Toyota supercharged. Please don't go bankrupt going EV
650 horse power would make that car fast.
No it won't.
Anyone who uses "fighter jets" to describe the features of a car...Has never been in a fighter jet
Wow aren’t you the intelligent one
Just telling you right now that this won’t be their last gas engine vehicle, unless they go out of business, which might very well happen if they base their company solely on a EV models.
Do you work there? If not then don’t say that when their last 3 cars have been fully electric
Only thing is bad is that it's too slow. Corvette are getting 0 to 60 in 2.9. This car should at least be 3.5 not 4.3
Why? Anyone seriously interested in the Vette isn’t considering the tiny Lotus, and 4.3 sec. puts it on par with lightweight, handling-focused smaller exotics, like the Cayman…
You're missing the point of this car.
Why spend 100k on this car? I have a mx-5 nd with a turbo and smoke/handle better than this car for 1/3 the price
@@captainholmes
@@dakel7Some people like to turn wrenches and build their cars which is awesome. Then there's people who have the money who want to have a certain brand, warranty, take it to the dealership etc. ,and the looks of an expensive car. Either way is fine.
@@fugginrambomost respectful person on RUclips lol
a bit over priced :( should have been around 75k, loaded.
No. Chinese.
This is only about 2 years after the fact 😂
the oval steering wheel is awful. just make it a circle
Nice car , shite colour .
Thanks to Biden we losing the ICE cars for EV’s, bring back ICE like it should be. Internal combustion Engines must not go
I don’t like Biden but if you think he is the main catalyst behind EV’s you’re an idiot
ICE better for the environment in the long run anyways
fuck the environment @@speedy_cheetah6425 but true
Give me a Corvette please!
What other Mid-Engine Sports car other than a Porsche Cayman has a Rev-Match 3rd Fun Pedal 6 Speed Manual Transmission, and is less than $110,000.00. The price is Valid since it has a 100% Import Tax.... I have a 2022 Roush Mustang with the Rev-Match 3rd Fun pedal Tremec 6 Speed Manual Transmission. Magneride Suspension, and the Same Intercooled Limited Slip Rear Differential as the GT500. I will Never Sell Her even if Offered $1 million USA Dollars cash . Great coverage, and I would buy the N/A V6. in white 👨🏻👍🏻🏎️🏁🚩⛰️🌲
