I buy Purina Pro Plan and mix it with a beef burger, sweet potato and oatmeal, I also feed raw chicken thighs. @@jorgeguitar2540 I've been feeding this type of diet for about 30yrs, most of my dog owner/raising yrs. As a teen I was amazed at the health and stamina of Alaskan sled dogs and learned that most are fed a fish/meat diet supplemented with kibble and rice, sweet potato whereas down in the lower 48 the vets and dog food producers frown on a raw meat diet simply because it goes against their sales of kibble or processed dog food. My hunting dog's and pets all live into their mid teens and have minimal to no skin, coat or health issues yet people who feed primarily a kibble processed dog food diet are constantly at the vet with health issues that are primarily related to the foods they give their dog's. @@shannmartin9361 thanks for sharing! I’m afraid to add kibble again. Aren’t carbs bad for dogs? I been feeding raw to my two pits for 2 years. Chicken, beef and mackerel ( no grains) and now they are showing signs of allergies, nauseas, red tummy . I tried adding other proteins due to eating too much chicken. like duck and rabbit those meats worked for the redness on my dogs stomach but I had to stop buying because it’s too expensive. I’m gonna try to go to petsmart an get this supplement that’s helps the immune system. Hopefully it removes the issue and they don’t have problems. The first year was fine and I think the problem was eating the same thing every day created something that rejects chicken and beef. I keep researching to see what I can do to help them.
Well I fed my German Sheppard dog Fromm for 14+ yrs and had no issues. I would also buy a family pack of boneless skinless chicken breast and use a cup of that with 3 cups of fromm as well as add probiotic & vitamins with a joint supplements. Sheppards life spands are usually 10 to 13 years. Well my Sheppard was working on 15yrs until this past July. He had a full life. Altho I don't consider Fromm a super food it helped. But bottom line the chicken I gave him and supplements gave at least 2 more year of good health then the average Sheppard.breed. we just adopted a rescue 2yr old huskie and plan on doing the same thing. Dry food in my opinion does not cut it alone. They need meat and supplements in there diet.

Victor is not hard to find in my area. I feed one of the Victor foods that does have grain. It breaks down in just water. I feed my dogs dry kibble soaked in water. However, I have another brand of grain free kibble (NutriSource) that does not break down in water. It does swell up and gets soft after a few hours, but does not break apart. The Victor brand that I use will swell up and turn to mush in about an hour. Especially if I pour very warm water on it. I have not tried their grain free version. Grain free may be harder to break down.
