@@VRVegeta They ruined the layout of the L4D1 maps in L4D2. Also, I'm not a fan of chargers or jockeys (jockeys being the worst special infected in the L4D franchise). Character movement is also far more janky in L4D2 than the original.
I think the reason why The Sacrifice is so weird is that it's actually the last official campaign made by Valve (since Cold Stream and The Last Stand are fan-made), releasing after L4D2 and The Passing had already released. The Campaign was designed for L4D2 and just backported to the first game
yes i agree, there’s a certain vibe that i get playing that campaign now after figuring out the map’s canon events and overall history. always will be my favorite campaign to play too its an eerie experience everytime Valve really said we’re gonna go out with a BOOOM 💥 on this one

Another thing is him saying that the dialogue in The Sacrifice influenced dialogue in Left 4 Dead 2… even though The Sacrifice was made after Left 4 Dead 2's release.
3:16:33 on versus its much more potent against the special infected, it creates a blinding effect, outlines the target and of course common infected attack for you. it also just lasts longer than a pipebomb, and is better than the other throwables if used tactically
Haven't watched yet, but l4d is a game that holds such a special place in my heart. Never experienced anything that was as compelling or as original as that was for me in a video game before or since.
I guess the problem with Cold Stream is that it's mostly a lot of back to back hordes that you need to push through. It's a lot of action without the down time so you can get a bit burnt out by the end. Also it's a very scripted campaign and doesn't change much from different playthroughs. It's not a bad campaign it just doesn't have the same flow and polish as the others.
A few things I noticed about the game instructor is that you can turn it off but it no longer tells you who startled witches or set off car alarms and the instructor seems to reset whenever you change hardware which is pretty annoying because I've played this on the same account for years and have been playing these games since they came out and know what to do
Great video overall, though I found the part about the instructor a bit strange, most of the pop ups it gives you stop showing up after a while, and there is actually an option to outright disable the instructor in the settings.
As someone who's beaten the whole campaign of left 4 dead 2 on expert realism... and oh man.. this video would be almost a year long if he played it on expert realism 😂
right? i agree. tier 1 weapons have very noticeable shortcomings like the uzi or the hunting shotgun having less shells than the automatic. and this is exacerbated on higher difficulties
AI director, environmental storytelling, character and world building, visual direction, audio cues, interactivity, resource management, sound motifs, ..etc theres a ton. and im glad co-op survival PVE titles follows that. and im glad games that follows tries to achieve checking the list.
Cold Stream sucks since there's barely any exploration, it's too linear, barely items change place, no witches can spawn normally, the finale is just a worst version of the idea The Parish already did, etc. You can remove the game instructions thing in the multiplayer options, and I agree, they suck. I remember learning about it in either 1.6 or source zombie servers.
The reason its popular is because its learning curve is shallow and the competitive mode is what made it super fun.. heck even nowadays you can see there is dedicated community for L4D2 versus tournament that is super activity despite the game is more than 10 years.. but as always, valve with its idiot decision ruin this franchise
And both the sheer amount of modded content and the rock solid foundation for casual play. There sure is competetive part of the game with Versus mode, but it's not the reason game stayed relevant with a pretty significant playerbase, the main meat and potatoes of the game is the casual coop experience of going through each singular campaign together testing your friendship the entire time. All then going into modded campaigns.

look, buddy it's either dynamic notifications or forced tutorial i prefer dynamic notifications bro never took down a tank that was standing around the corner with boomer bile nor has he combined it with molotov skill issue right there bro frag rounds tip in loading screen says you can stagger special infected what else do you want gore of left 4 dead games is absolutely astonishing over 100 gibs and effects to put on a zombie to make each kill unique cold stream is a good fan made campaign but it's heavily scripted as fuck - that's why people don't like it when every other campaign stays somewhat unique coldstream has the same items in the same places tanks spawn in the same places charger always spawns behind survivors after gate opens and i never saw a witch once in this campaign it's boring in the long run and that falling piece of bridge always falls on the car last stand campaign on the other hand does something amazing the same map we survived for hours without end finally has ending that would be golden standard for survival maps you know when players reach golden time - open a way to evacuate BUT 7 GENERATORS FOR FUCKS SAKE WHY, 3 WAS PERFECTLY ENOUGH and again generator at the end needs to be refueled - that is not as fun as much people put it in custom maps and campaigns it's one of reasons people were bored with call of duty zombies you know 50 waves of rape train and no way to go any further in terms of the game there should be a way to end the game other than purposefully getting killed oh and mutations after valve has ran out of ideas being all available for players was the golden idea - other studios would just disable the mode and true to the core concept - mutation presented does change every week once it's last man on earth the other time it's healing gnome a simple script yet makes the game much more alive
On higher difficulties biling the tank is useless in every way unless its the scripted sacrifice one and cold stream is hated because on higher difficulties the crescendo events that happen like every chapter are insanely difficult to get through with everyone without bile,even with bile though the tight spaced stairwell in the tunnel event will most likely spawn a boomer and then bile is useless

I don't see any melee weapons, no new tier 2s, no adenaline, no L4D2 specials, thr doors dont buldge before breaking apart, the gore on commons is back to the basic stuff with no chunks being taken off. What's going on here? Just a really faithful recreation using mods?

There is no difference in range though there is difference in effective range cause how much hitrays a weapon has and swing pattern
