  • In this weeks video I have 8 of the most must have food photography props. These props are going to help elevate and improve your food photos! Props are a big part of food photography and it can be really daunting when trying to figure our where to start with your own prop collection, we're not all made of money and props are expensive! This video will give you an idea of where to start with building your own prop collection if you're a beginner food photographer, or what to add next if you already have some experience with food photography!
    * Just remember guys, these are my go to props, everyone will have different styles and you may decide to go with some but not all of these! One of the best things about photography and food photography is we are all different, with different styles!

I REALLY wanted to link the props I use, but after searching far and wide the specific ones I have seem to have gone or sold out maybe! I will link below some of the shops I buy things from. (I am based in the UK, and some of these will only be available there)
    Sainsbury's - www.sainsburys.co.uk/shop/gb/...
My main source for things like plates, and dishes. They have a lovely collection of plates and the most selection I've found for matte plates and things! I think I just live close to a great Sainsbury's because I always find something awesome here!
    Wilko - www.wilko.com/
A great place for some plates and little odd bits and pieces with GREAT prices, my cutlery ft in the video was from here!
    Tesco - www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB...
They have great glasses here, and things like trays!
Other shops include places like amazon or etsy. Etsy is great for linens, but being in the UK they're normally arriving from some far away place and take a while! :(
    GEAR I USE!

Matt plates and cutlery very informative. I never understood why every Instagram food post has linen or cloth as a drop.

Glad you found the video helpful! Linen and cloth are just a great way to add in some texture and interest to images without being too distracting. They are a great way to frame and lead your eye to your subject too.

Loads of great information. I never thought about prop 4, but it makes perfect sense after hearing you talk about it. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much! They are great, I love them! And hate seeing the camera in cutlery when shooting with things like spoons
