I remember that in 1965, I was in 6th class, and after the successful result, our mother with all other family members went to watch this film in Naz Cinema Mission Road Lahore.
It was the first colour movie and still hunting me while I am 65 years old.
It was the golden era of the Pakistan film industry, at a later stage, I heard that the music director Late Master Anayat Hussain was not satisfied with the tunes that he composed.
However, after listening to the available tunes, the director and the producer of this film insist Masters Anayat Sahib that these tunes shall make your name high thus; the present compositions are super good and advised him to record the songs.
Late Mala Begum sings the songs and to date, the music becomes classic and ever-green.

A great movie. I had seen the last show in lahore in Naz cinema. I have yet to see such a great and fabulous gathering of ladies with black burqas on that day.
They are so rich yet couldn't afford to go home in 7 years during holidays for a fare of just £300 ...Crazy concept!

Man talk about a protracted climax! Melodrama on top of melodrama, sacrifice on top of sacrifice! And poor Naila doesn't even make it through. Really tests patience these old tales.
Film Naila is a beautiful classical film of Pakistani Film Industry. No doubt Darpan Kumar is a good actor of Pakistan,but the script of this film does not permit him to play a positive role. Shameem Ara and Santosh Kumar played a very fascinating role. Good sets in the studio with good colour shooted by the Camara men and Director of the film. Good Music and Good songs. Excellent movie, perfect performance acted by Shamim Ara, attractive directed, meaningful story of famous writer Razia Butt, beautiful melody music, lovely songs sung by Mala Begum, Masood Rana, excellent music composed by Master Inayat Hussain.One of the best color this movie is as famous as in 1965. This film should be awarded diamond jubilee!!!!

Lovely movie, heart touching story which was pictured on one of the beautiful heroine Shamim Ara ( who resembles Madhubala ). Love the script, dresses and song "Gamedil ko" a lot ! Bravo Pakistan! Our film industry should learn from these types of movies where they show the true culture.

It appears to be good movie ( I have not yet seen it fully, though I copied/ recorded its song ' Ghame' dil ko . ." live by mala in 1988 from Ptv). So far my favourate Pakistani Movies are DULLA BHATTI- Sudhir 1956 and BADNAM - 1965 Allauddin '

Shamim had a blood of some Nawab in her veins. Who was her 'biological' father ? Her mother took the secret with her to her grave.
Nailla is not a halal correct Muslim name people mistakenly call their daughters by this name my own Khala is called nailla wrong name unfortunately nailla is a goddess name which of course is haram Bcz as Muslims we only only believe in Allah and not in any goddess same Aneela is from an Anil a Hindu name Yasser is a completely wrong name for Muslims as Muslims we give the gift of name to child and most probably in junnut he or she will be called by that name he had in the world so we must think long and hard before naming our children Bcz it is a massive gift to our children plus name has an effect on personality I always thought this was a myth but I found out through religious Muslim books it is very true name definitely has effect on a persons personality think long and hard before naming your babies ok
