Hey, thank you very much for the compliments, I really appreciate it. Glad you were finally able to make it to your first cons! My first was MFF 2010 and the magic was just unreal to me at the time. I actually just uploaded some spare video of that convention over on my miscellaneous account, Iaran FC. Just wanted a repository to put all the spare video you know?

A lot of sites give tutorials. Fabric sites like distinctivefabric will have fur at a variety of lengths. Google furring tutorial. Foam and such can be found in a lot of places. Eyes can be resin cast with plastic paint trays or made by painting mesh, tutorials of that are to be found everywhere, too. Low budget = partial suit. If you have a hard time with something, there are separate parts online. You can airbrush the fur. It's my first time making one, too. Hot glue = best friend. Good luck!
A lot of fursuit makers will mail anywhere in the world. A professional fursuit usually costs $1000-$3000 depending on how complicated the character is, time spent working on it and other such things. :3
I may never be able to go to Anthrocon any time soon (hopefully when I'm out in the world on my own), but I am definately getting my parents to have my siblings and I go to Further Confusion! :D Maybe not in 2013, but 2014 maybe cuz were still getting settled here in Cali.
There's a fine boundary between personal safety and pride. I agree that people should be careful, but I always repeat the same #1 rule: DO NOT SUIT ALONE UNLESS AN EVENT CALLS FOR IT. EVER.

To grab the attention of others and ultimately try and bring joy to their day? :)
Well said. Some clarifications on that: It's totally okay to suit at your local mall WITH OTHER SUITERS AND MULTIPLE HANDLERS and WITH THE MALL'S APPROVAL IN ADVANCE!!! Otherwise you could be assaulted, threatened, and even have your suit damage, and without a witness, they have every right to the excuse that "you startled them". Halloween would be best time to think of an outing like that but, again, with a group. Be smart.
Looking forward to AC this year. First time going. From 8 years old to 17 I was pure furry all the way, had accounts on fursites, loved Furcadia. Then at 17, all of my friends quit Furc and deleted accounts, making me sad, so I focused on school and graduating. Now, at 23, I have a job and I will be jumping back in. Can't wait!! I've suppressed the furry too long, he's clawing at me. And he bites hard. :( xD
Sorry, I misread the comment. I apologize for your bad suiting experience. But that's not the way it should go. You should always be suiting with people you know well enough -- not people you've only known through the internet or haven't gotten a chance to know that well. Suiting can be an awesome experience if you take time to arrange it :3
well, im 12 and i had enough money for a suit when i was 11 xD just dont spend your money everytime, and you'll easily get enough for a suit. im probably going to buy one, if my parents let me.
