So why do I do what I do?
Because I like how it feels....
Two years ago I was exploring music and by error I write wrong the title of a song and this pops up, I clicked by curiosity, that was the best choice of my life, I couldn’t stop thinking about this song on and on along that week. Literally my whole personality and lifestyle have changed, thanks to this song I investigated the furry fandom and become part of it. Thanks.

Don't understand why us furs get so much hate. We're people too, just like everybody else. Just people trying to make the most of life in the way we know how. We get pleasure out of what we love. Why can't people see that? Not all of us are into fursuit sex, you know. The vast majority of the fur population just loves joking about and meeting with other furries. Sure, there are those select few who do kinky stuff in their suits, but I for one (and all of my fur friends) are completely clean. We're all just trying to be the reason for somebody's smile.
You rock, Duke. Keep it up, man. Been a huge fan for a long time: you inspired me to get into suiting. Thanks so much. :)

I used to hate furries and think they were stupid, then I watched a video about furries. That one video changed my perspective of furries, now I am a furry. I told my friends but they didn't understand, so now I don't have any friends.

I mean, sure, in some places how you look is an important factor, but how you act is an even more important factor.

this fandom isn't just for fursuiting, the majority of the furry fandom actually dont have a fursuit!some flurries can make digital art, music, dances,or just like anthropomorphics!

Personally though, I like to think that the bulk of the skill the fandom (as a whole) has is invested into creating characters, and then creating the costumes as well.
For me, stuff like literature or music, isn't as prevalent in the fandom. Would that be fair to say?

I don't understand the hate. I've met several furries in the past and they're very entertaining and kind people. Yes, some of the suiters can be a liiiitle annoying sometimes but they're overall good natured. Sheesh! The world needs to cheer up!

Sounds like you just may be a lifer. Most furs find the fandom sticks around for a few years then goes onto other things as they grow up.
I was well into my thirties when I found the fandom two decades ago so I'm not going anywhere unlike most furs that finds the fandom as teenagers who have lots of growing up to do. My one regret was I did not find the fandom in the 80s. It might have had an actual life when I was young and could enjoy my youth.

@@JAZ1792 The fandom does not grow persay as its just a concept. Thou the fandom is getting more and more greymuzzles the vast majority of furs are high-schoolers to collage kids who them selfs are still growing up. As the vast majority of furs will always be older kids to young adults the average maturity in the fandom won't be all that high so us greymuzzles will just have to keep watch on the younger furs to guide them.

god this is such a great video, one of the first big furry vids i found when i was new to the fandom (2012), and it got me so hyped for cons and fursuiting and all the winderful, amazing oeeps i'd meet here, and guess what? several fursuits and a dozen or so cons under my belt in the past decade and its still the best leap of faith i've ever made (next to the jump into presenting feminine which, by the way, i discovered about myself in the parking lot outside of a furry convention hotel).... i maintain to this day that the furry community saved my life. i don't know where or who i'd be without it. i don't even want to speculate. thank you Duke, and all the lovely fluffs in this vid for making something so incredibly precious and special to and for this community!!!

I miss this stuff from Duke the Dancing Dog. I've always seen him as a positive light bring others up with him. BTW this song is my official music for getting amped up for Anthrocon. Once my finances allow me again, Anthrocon here I come with this song blaring loud on my car stereo.

You'd be surprised at what lots of furries actually look like under our suits. Just because you don't quite accept something doesn't mean you need to immediately demote them. We're friendly and accepting of everyone

Its a dog suit, why would they cherish him? Im not saying HuRr DuRR furries are disgusting and stuff, I respect beliefs and all what comes with it. But why would someone patronize a dude with a dog suit?
Is not the dog suit, it's what it represents, the cherrish, tje joy of being free to express yourself under a character you've created, be whom you want to be, having fun and not giving a damn about anything else

Why cant you guys be human characters? Do you necessarily need to be dogs/wolves/furry thing? Do you really have a need to be some special snowflake? Isnt being human special enough? You have the world in your hands, unlike most animals who cant communicate in ways like we do... I mean, isnt that enough?
James E. Cizu Well furries are animal lovers, And think of it this way, you're the same species as Adolf Hitler, don't you just feel down? And no, nobody has to necessarily has to fursuit any of these, Duke just stuck to filming people who are in suit to add to the illusion and effect. Plenty of people go to furcons as themselves, some just stick a tail on to feel part of it a bit more. But the whole fandom is about anthropomorphism, giving animals human characteristics so that they can communicate. It's like any other fantasy fandom, Doctor Who fans would like to think the Doctor really exists, we like to imagine the world filled with anthropomorphic creatures that can communicate as easily as we can. Fursuiting is just a way of creating that illusion, and people have fun doing it. It's also a character 'you' have made and some feel they can have and alternative personality in suit. Some of these characters were made years ago, and have followed the creater up to the point in life where they have funds to make a fursuit. Finally, there's certain things that you can do in suit that just look unnatural in out of suit, certain movement and expressions.
I'm not a fursuiter myself, personally I'd think I'd overheat in one and I'd much rather be happy keeping my hands on the amount of money it costs to build one and buying something else with it.
Anyway, hope I cleared a few things up!

Now, if I were to use a fursuit, partial, or otherwise, I'd make it more practical: less bulky--and thus less awkward--paws, and have some sort of protective layer (or layers), whilst still maintaining flexibility and without it being *too* hot to wear. I'd think of something, I know, but as for affording it, that is an entirely different problem.

I'm only in 10th grade, I probably could have bought a suit if I wanted, considering I recently dropped over $1000, and I only want a partial anyway. My fursona is actually whats in my profile picture. However, how would I explain to my parents, why i'm dropping over a grand on that? Then my girlfriend would also be questioning. I would just be like, "You wouldn't understand, it's a furry thing!" XD
