- Firi firi is a coconut donut originating from the beautiful island of Tahiti. This tasty recipe is eaten in the morning with a cup of coffee/tea. I made a baked version for my viewers who wanted to avoid adding more calories to their plate. The baked version is soft, fluffy and still tasty compared to the original fried recipe. I enjoyed devouring this sweet dish and know that you all will enjoy. Malo!
Ingredients
1 cup coconut milk see note
4 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon yeast
2 3/4 cup flour see note
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon olive oil
5-6 cups canola oil (frying)
4 tablespoon sugar (for coating)
Notes:
1. Heat coconut milk in microwave for 20sec
2. Add more flour during the kneading process (after it’s risen)
