As other Porschephiles have commented, the R clip was missing from the caliper pin, allowing it to rattle out. The appropriate roadside fix would be to substitute a paper clip, or a small key ring, or anything else you can find of that ilk to prevent losing the caliper pin completely, which would be a much bigger headache to solve.
Fr they got it on the road way quicker than I expected, thought i was a way to big of a project but nah. Alex would have bought 3 more cars just to not have to work on this one.
That museum with the planes actually has very many cool cars inside. F40, Muira, SLS, Le Mans winning cars, land speed record holder, Lancia 037, that 6 wheeled F1 car, etc.. happened upon it by accident too
On the Calliper pins, there should be a hole for a R clip to stop them from falling out 👍 So either someone didnt put it back in there, or it fell/broke off. Used to work on Porsches 😄
04:11 - Triumph Spitfire? NICE!... Guess that's for the AutoAlex 'Classic car challenge'? Ad I'm CERTAINLY looking forward to hearing about the Spit! 😏👍 😎🇬🇧
The Technik Museum Sinsheim, and it's sibling, the Technik Museum Speyer, sure are worth a visit in the future. Planes, trains, boats, and cars, lots of cars!
Mayo in the oil filler is normal on these, The filler cap end is a long way from the engine and is much cooler, hence moisture condenses here and creates the mayo.
It's 100% normal especially in that weather on long hot engine run ... Head gasket issue or blocked breather your get mayo in the header tank then it's panic stations 😂@@Cant_Frag
Yeah, the engine has a lot of surface area on the inside which generates lots of condensation overnight. This makes mayonnaise when the car is driven. To get rid, just wipe it out with a cloth and run the car regularly and store in a heated garage. Or just ignore it.
@@TheFleetflyer the old engineer I bought my 911 from told me “all 911s are designed to be driven like how your wife should be loved, Regular and Vigorous.” I can’t afford a wife but followed the advice. The car has none of the widely discussed issues. And no need for heated garage.
Not taking a jack for a car you just built is wild lmao. Especially when it’s not exactly too hard to fit in the car. It probably has its own space for it.
I mean, not having a jack in a car in general is wild... This car comes from an era when you'd have a spare wheel. What happened to the OEM jack, wrench, etc.?
@@MrJonas7 it all fits into the frunk, with the kit inside the spacesaver, so I'm somewhat assuming it has been taken out or (again, somehow) they didn't know that
You guys are just the best. I'm so glad that you've got your own channel now and I hope it goes from strength to strength. It really is the personalities that brings me here. You guys have done it.🎉
Enjoyed this vid so much. The incorporation of all the channels into one video, especially with multiple different adventures rolled into one is great. Hope the milk isn’t too much to worry about, better get Ethan to have a look
Hey well done Edwin and Will for putting that Porsche 996 back on the road again and now it has been too the Nurburgring for a couple off laps and it's just a pity that Ethan and Jack didn't race there Porsche 924 around the Nurburgring.
The wing mounted a little lower and smaller end plates would look good in my opinion but this looks like an awesome car to have fun around the track with!
The Stag in the background during the sponsor segment was really nice to see! Dad used to have one that was engine swapped with a V8 from a Leyland P76, always thought I was the coolest getting dropped at school in it (When or if we eventually got to School 😅)
This was gold❤ You guys got lucky. First rule of taking a 996 on track. Install a baffled oil pan. These things like to oil starve to death with oem oil pans on track😅
You missed some awesome stuff by not going inside where the concord was on the roof. I spent a whole day between there and the Porsche museum. Also I don't think I'm allowed to rent a car in Germany any more 😇
Great Video again, Loving the content lads you've done a fantastic job once again. Shame we never saw that wing on the car I suspect it would have cost more than Rory's lawnmower! 🤣
Oh man there is no way. That guy who gave you the jack is from the same town I live in. If you ever end up down here again maybe set up a small meet or something. I will definitely have a jack with me!
Oh Wow you guys came close to where i live! The Sinsheim Vehicle Musuem is a really cool place ive been there a few times even been in the concord since you can walk up there
You should say that the channel sponsor is Car Vertical - rather than saying this week's sponsor is Car Vertical...every week 😂 But loving the content!!
You guys are straight up the most enjoyable carshow Ive seen in many many years. I havent been feeling like this since back in the good days with Top Gear - I love everything about it =) Cheers

That GTI driver stopped to help even while having no idea what they needed. Props to him, a proper car guy
He had to be on his way to work and chose to help and be late. Top bloke
GTI ftw.
Wanted to like this comment but it's currently at 911
They're among the very few good narrators on car youtube, will already was a highlight at overdrive
Will has a crazy GT-R R35 right?
@@iaintdonknow I don't know if he still has that
Will was my favorite from overdrive
Met the guy in one of their videos with subscribers, he was lovely
I can't unhear Edd China in the voice overs though.
Edwins Doug impression was spot on

Found it, 10:33. Yep, spot on lol

10:33 --> *THIS* 👌
All of it’s quirks and features
And then I'm gonna give it a Doug score
Thiiisssss...
It was fun meeting you on the track! That E30 was a 325i from 1986.😘
As someone who works for Doug's Auction platform (Cars & Bids) I really appreciated the "THIS!" at 10:32 :)
original wing looks so much better in my humble opinion
by miles
the giant ricer wing doesn't suit at all this car and project

Not really… my 996 started doing that really badly and it’s a head gasket or cracked cylinder head

I genuinely thought it was the joke one before they reveal the real wing and then all started taking it seriously 😂
Was it not fuction over form?
at very least needed to be lower
So much better than most of Auto Alex videos. These guys seem to finish projects.
Yeah I like auto Alex but every video is a new car! Nothing seems to get finished just always on to the next project
Helps that they don't act like overly excitable teenagers
It's good to see you two smiling after all that effort 😃
Atleast you made it through Antwerp traffic, thats an achievement on itself 😂
Being honest, that wing looks terrible don't do it. Oh and well handled on the track good recovery.

Mayo in the Porsche oil pour pipe is normal.

Quality: "The Pringles are going everywhere!" 😁
Things that have never been said before during a race at N ring GP circuit 😝
Swear I saw Edwin go for a downshift on an imaginary flappy paddle shifter at 16:12 😂
As others have said, you need the split pin through the caliper pin to stop it sliding out. Even a bent paperclip will do for a short while!
