Tomorrow I'll find her, we will start a new phase of the former HMS OCEAN, now ATLANTICO. She will have a new life in the Brazilian Navy, we'll be care her in south atlantic, we will be imposing! God bless her. Best regarsd from Rio!

I don't get it , UK sold this ship to Brazil, and they doesn't allowed British warships to use their ports for refueling in their way to the Falklands because they support Argentina and their claim over the islands, the only country friendly with UK and the Royal navy is Chile , they allowed British warships to use their ports and even helping refueling their ships in the ocean with their replenishment AOR vessels, just don't make sense .
@flip inheck To be clear I never said that the UK used chileans harbors during the Falklands war Chile help them with reconnaissance , counterintelligence , and I believe they chileans Navy Comandos rescue an SAS team that got lost and crashed their Seaking when they run out of Gas .Today several countries in South America doesn't allowed any British ships in their harbors, they support Argentina in their dispute with UK for the Falklands, one of them is Brazil, that is why don't make sense they sold this ship to them
@flip inheck Not during the Falklands war like you state in your comment, they do stop in Chile when they are not allowed somewhere else , about the Sea king crash , you are wrong, an SAS got lost after a failed counterintelligence mission in southern Argentina's to keep track of their Air Force movements, and they got rescue by the chileans , and even today argentinians are upset with the chileans for that .
@flip inheck I never heard that France sold an Aircraft via Chile ??Argentina already had an old French Aircrafts when the invade the Falklands, nobody comprehends why they never use it against the British .
@flip inheck Sorry , but I think you confusing Chile with Peru , Peru received a some Mirage lll, from France to the Argentinian Air force , and they did a whole operation to cover that , Chile never supported Argentina in the Falklands, because Argentina was planning to invade southern Chile after they control the Falklands, and this continues even this days , just now 2020 Argentina put out a new map approve by ONU that extends their marine platform that include the Falklands and the British and chilean territories in the Antartica (look into it), this is far from end , the problem is that the rest of Sudamerica support Argentina , except Colombia , and Chile the point is I think UK is selling equipment to the wrong country, is not about the Falklands war ,Cheers.

It really bothers me that people had not noticed yet that she is now a he. I mean.. Ships in Portuguese are treated as males as the article for ships is the article for males. So everybody here might call "her" the equivalent of "big boy". I have said it already but it still makes me chuckle a bit - like a little kid!
Calma, companheiro. A escolha do gênero fica conforme a aplicação do substantivo. O barco. A nave. O navio. A nau capitânia. O vaso de guerra. A embarcação de guerra.
Sad to see her go. Ive got used to seeing her berthed opposite me. Hopefully she will return on a visit in the future.
Will be proudly used
Vamos cuidar bem dela...
Que venha bem! Boa viagem e que nos sirva com profissionalismo e eficiência! BRAVO ZULU!!!!
Welcome PHM Atlântico.
O Hm 140 Atlântico é um orgulho para o nosso país marinha

Goodbye HMS Ocean, I'm sure she'll do well with the Brazilian Navy as PHM Atlantico.

It's coming home

Nossa Nau Captanea
Ocean was not that old, why did Royal navy decommissioned it?
It wasn't built to Navy standard, but to Merchant standard I belive.
good deal for Brazil

Welcome to The Brazilian Navy
Maybe I missed it but as a foreign naval vessel in UK waters shouldn't she be flying the UK Ensign at her masthead alongside the Brazilian flag?
She is flying the Union flag main mast look at the zoom in at 0914
Foremast
She is wearing the Union Flag just abaft and below the Brazilian flag.
CTS (GB) LTD arranged import of military supplies for the vessel. Bon Voyage
