    I was recently in CPT for business and I happened to head to Delfy; so the name of the place; I have never felt so uncomfortable in my life. I mean we were traveling with a car registration of Botswana and we were going to buy a second hand car on a private sale... The residence in that area kept on approaching the the gates to look over and I thought it was odd... Only told be told layer when we had left that people in areas that are gang proned are suspicious about people or unusual activities... And mind you me, we went to Delfy during the day....
    I just think that our people do it see the greater danger, this whole activities has made their community not to progress and other racial groups have developed and left them behind...
    Just remember that; where there is destruction wealthy are the ones that benefit....

    The problem with these communities is that everyone knows who these gangsters are and where they live but they refuse to give out that information. There is such as thing as anonymous tipoffs. They will rather protect these gangsters. You live in fear but don't want to be the change the community needs. These communities will never change because the people living there don't want to. Before you go off at me, I grew up in Lavenderhill and witnessed gang violence first hand, was robbed at gunpoint by someone I knew. I did not end up a gangster, I was raised properly and knew better.

    • @kierankelly29
      @kierankelly29 2 года назад +3

      It's not that people don't want to change it's because even tho you do an anonymous tipoff there is still a big risk of you getting caught because most police man is working for the gangsters now a days and I live in seawinds basically opposite lavender hill 19yrs old atm,, me myself have witness gang violence infront of my eyes,, almost got robbed until one of the men said I looked familiar and knew my aunty and they let me walk..but ya now a days the streets aren't safe anymore especially coz of the police that's working for the gangsters

    Ja cape town . The beautiful mother city my home . But also the fucked up gang city . I use to walk in these places through the shootings as a gangster myself . But I could never kill someone . That's why I left that kak an moved to England an made a life . Wish other youngsters can do the same instead of blaming poverty . I went to England from the streets of Johannesburg as a homeless kid cause I didn't want to be a gangster anymore . So if I could do it in such a bad situation . Then anyone can

      Not everyone can afford to leave to move somewhere else.... If we all or most leave who will sort out the problems in our society... I am a firm believer that the problems of my country has to be solved by me or my community... there can never be a messiah from foreign land to help resolve issues in my country and community... So we have to stand up organise and solve our problems .... And yes the gangs and killing have to stop.... Learning in the community and to be priority.... And my last one is, if people in a community believe that killing our people is a solution then we are far from resolving or problems and making progress in the world....
      Now, the reality is that we should not place too much trust on the politicians they are not in for the interest of the community.... So our people need to organise and teach the young ones and build society to love and care for itself.... So that they donot need policing or political interventions

    The ANC has forsaken this country big time in many ways. No wonder one occasionally hear people mentioning that certain things were much better during the apartheid era under the NP vs what they're experiencing today. These gangs could've been dealt with a long time ago, but they don't care cause they don't run the WC like the rest of the country, and even if they did it wouldn't have mattered anyway. Sending in the army 25yrs too late, is just a joke and like @Siphumelele Mabaso says below, bullets r still flying through the roofs even with the army present. Shame on you ANC!!!!!!

      Liberal Snowflakes Nope!! It’s easy to blame the ANC! This gangland situation, my friend, was started when your NP government implemented the ‘Group Areas Act’! But don’t take my word for it, just search for an hour/long documentary here on RUclips called ‘Cape of Fear’ shot by the BBC in 1993 (during the old government!) about gangster twin brothers Rashied and Rashaan Staggie. Judging by this comment of yours, I doubt you know who they are. But do yourself a favour and watch this documentary, you will be enlightened. Go on.

    Considering the SANDF has almost nothing to do they should be deployed permanently to patrol areas like Manenberg instead of sitting around getting fat It's all very well to move into an area in a show of force but when they go, as we see the gangs crawl out of their cockroach holes.
