The C63 AMG is reportedly the first AMG-Mercedes designed from the ground up. It's AMG C-Class predecessors had essentially featured bolt-on performance modifications, with these earlier AMG models suffered from "relentless understeer" and "heavy steering." In 2008 the W204 chassis redefined the AMG line by designing a luxury performance machine that gave the competition a run for their money. I own a 2012 C63 AMG (451 hp). Got close to 70,000 miles so far. The sounds of the engine and qual-exhausts are absolutely sweet. Of course, I did not buy this car for its MPG, coz it is REALLY LOW. I did pay premium to acquire this car for SMPG (SMile Per Gallon). In summary, this car dies with me.

Can you tell me a little bit about these engines and the platform itself ? I hear great things but the head gasket apparently is garbage 2011 and below but is there after market for that part that’s 10x better
@@Longshlongjon22 you’re absolutely right on 2011 or prior models, b4 it’s facelift, there is the issue where you need to watch out. Nonetheless, mine was 2012 model, that 6.2L V8 and natural qual-exhaust pipes were why I bought it. As to why I sold it, I used it as daily in TN, and during winter time and raining day, rear-wheel based bea$t just a wild card from a safety perspective. Only if I have another car for sub during bad weathers, I’d keep that bea$t myself. Again you won’t be disappointed by its Smpg ever.

Yo man I've got some questions I'm getting ready to buy one what are some issues they have? How's general maintenance? I was looking into a GTR but there's a Used version of the C63
Hey mate , how you going? I'm a motor mechanic so general maintenance is not a prob on the 63 , in saying that my R 32 gtr has been a bit problematic with wiring , coil packs , turbo etc. I still love it though lol . The only mistake I've made with the 63 maintenance wise is fitting cheap tyres . Not a good idea , went back to P zero tyres and much better . Make sure oil quality is premium as well . 😊 Cheers

I’ve owned the W204 C63 P31 for 7 years, daily drive it even in light snow and the car is absolutely solid, zero real issues during that time. I’ll have to get something else as I’ve now put 173k miles on it, but the new versions just don’t do it for me. I suggest anyone that is questioning getting one, to just get it.

I recently bought this car and if you want to buy one, all I can say is GO FOR IT! Watching it in videos is something, but driving is on another level. Every second driving this beauty is a pure pleasure and when you think you're getting used to its power, well you're not and you're never really gonna be used to it! It's worth the money spent on every aspect. I'd recommend buying the ones after 2012 for the faster shifting because older versions have very slow shifting as I heard. If you buy a well-treated c63 with the full maintenance service book, you'll have nothing to worry about and if you treat this car correctly, it will treat as well your wallet! I'd just wish the gas price here in Europe would have been the same as in America!

I just want to say, if anyone is thinking about buying one of these, DO IT, I absolutely love mine and can’t wait to build it this year.
And regarding the headbolts, 2012 and up are fine and do not have this issue, but you can always check the VIN of the car you’re looking at to be sure(I’ve heard part way through 2011 might be OK as well).

Yes, there is an engine code that will tell you whether or not you are in the affected range, somewhere on mbforum. I did this for my 2011 and I have one made that is

With that said it’s also not as big an issue as people make it out to be. I’ve a 2009 with 118K on stock head bolts, know a C63 at 169K, a E63 at 175K and a CLS63 at 182K on stock head bolts.
@@Odin851 people love to blow things out of proportion lol, like sure some people have definitely had this issue, but there are many examples like yours with no headbolt issues in the “affected” range!

I've owned two C63 w204. Best two cars I've ever owned with literally zero issues. Pretty good if you ask me, since the last one was modified with Kleemann Stage 2 (575hp) AND had the P31-package. Damn I miss that car.....

Men såhär är det: det ABSOLUT enklaste är att kolla upp motorkoden via chassinr. Det är inte att alla pre-facelift är drabbade, men majoriteten är det. Har du en 2008, då är den garanterat drabbad. Har du en 2010 kan den eventuellt vara det. Det enklaste är att kolla upp motorkoden
Och problematiken är att Mercedes tidigare använde sig utav topplocksbultar där skallen på bultarna gick av, vilket resulterar i att motor tar in kylarvatten i oljan. För att byta till nya topplocksbultarna måste kamaxlarna tas bort. Det är ett relativt omfattande arbete och kostar en hel del att låta en verkstad utföra.

I love my 2020 C63 S Coupe, but for how great it is the sound of the w204's 6.2l is untouchable. Best sounding V8 in my opinion, though I do love my 4.0 Biturbo's sound too.

Truly is a load of fun! Keep on your maintenance and it will reward you! I have an 09 p30 package, upgraded headbolts, new cam adjusters. BEAST even completely stock.
This was the car I was aiming to get. Then I found a really good deal on an E55. Both amazing cars, love my E55!
E55 is a beast and more reliable just keep up with matentince and you’re good I would put a e63 front bumper makes the e55 complete beast

I drive a 2012 C63 AMG coupe as a daily driver and I’m pretty sure I’ll never get rid of it. But tires are definitely not long lasting with this demon

I own a 2015 C63 AMG 507 Edition. So far has been a great car to own. It isn't my daily driver so it doesn't lose the magic of a new car. Not a mechanic, I keep it stock and enjoy that way. I believe in treating my car nicely so it last longer in good shape and saves my money. I will keep it stock for years to come.

My friend sent me this video. I'm on my third AMG c63 with my latest one being the 2023 AMC c63s Finale edition. That bi-turbo V8 is so amazing. RWD or nothing at all is what i say. The only thing and I mean only thing that could have made the vehicle better is offering it in a third pedal. I have zero complaints about this whip. I have owned dozens of vehicles over the years. This platform is one of my favorites.

Had mine for 4 years if you’re thinking of getting one def make sure those head bolts get redone also a main problem with the W204 is the ESL will fail and when it does the car is stuck. Def suggest bypassing it with an emulator Benz will charge over 2000 to replace it and it will happen again. After enjoy it!!!!

The P30 C63 was actually 4 seconds faster than the same model year M3 around the Nurburgring. But people complained that the suspension was too stiff and Mercedes softened it up with the P31 package.

An even more under-the-radar AMG is the e55, fastest sedan in 2003, faster in a straight line than a c63 and most other cars on the road. They go for like 15k for a good example
